Killings, mutilations, violent deaths....
31 JANUARY: The corpse of Ali Visoçi (62)
from Llukavc near Beg, father of 6, was found on the road Gurakoc-Klina,
at the Osmanaj quarter. The late was killed under unknown circumstances.
- 6 other Albanians killed in Rogova (Gjakova) on 29 January, were identified.
They are as follows: Rrustem Morina (60) with his 3 sons Selman (23), Muhamet
(20) and Nysret (17) from Rogova, Agim Zeneli from Jabllanica (Gjakova)
and Sahit Krasniqi from Ratkoc (Rahovec).
3 FEBRUARY: At about 7.00 p.m., at the place
called "Ura e haxhinjve", between the villages of Isniq and Lluka e Epërme
(Deçan), the following were killed under unknown circumstances:
Ali Asllan Pajazitaj (27) from Isniq, Fazli Sejdi Morina (30) from Graboc
(Peja), sheltered at his relatives in Isniq, and Albert Demë Sejdiaj
(25) from Lëbusha (Deçan). - The corpse of Ymer Rexhepi (43)
from Frashër, living in Mitrovica, was found in Lipa (Mitrovica).
- At about 8.00 p.m., in Rastavica (Deçan), Bozho Kontiq, a Serbian
refugee from Albania, sheltered in Junik, was killed under unknown circumstances.
- The corpses of three Albanian citizens killed by Serbian forces in Lugishta
(Has) on 28 January were taken from the morgue of Prizreni Hospital in
the presence of the OSCE verifiers. They are as follows: Meriman Dauti
(22) from Zarisht (Has), Ramë Geca (18) from Kruma and Artan Kovaçi
(17) from Vlahna (Kruma).
4 FEBRUARY: At about 3.00 a.m., unknown persons
killed Milan Stevanoviq (19), a policeman from Gorazhdec (Peja).
5 FEBRUARY: The mutilated unidentified corpse
aged over 60 was found at the place called "Ura e Terzive" in Bishtazhin
(Gjakova). The late was hit with a fire weapon on his head and his eyes
were torn off. - Selman Konjusha (50), a poet from Prishtina, died due
to the wounds suffered on 29 January in an attack in front of his flat.
6 FEBRUARY: Due to an explosion in front of the
"Almir" shop in the vicinity of the green market in "Ulpiana" quarter in
Prishtina, the following persons died: Enver Shala (52), the owner, Vlora
Humolli (18) from Prishtina, and Artan Ajeti (20) from Ferizaj who died
on the way to hospital.
7 FEBRUARY: At about 11.00 p.m., in the outskirts
of Gjakova, unknown persons killed Luigj Mataj (26) from Novosella e Epërme
and wounded Skënder Leka (23) from Novosella e Poshtme. The corpse
of an unidentified man was found at the place called "Krivarek", 3 km away
from Kaçanik. - The corpse of Cyme Rexhë Shala (90) from Loxha
(Peja) was found. The late was considered missing since 15 August 1998.
Kidnappings and involuntary disappearances...
During the last week, we were informed that the whereabouts of the following missing persons are unknown: Shehide Hysen Metushi (60) from Reçak - Shtime (since 15 January); Besim Ejup Maloku from Sallabaja - Podujeva (since 27 January); Isuf Berisha (63) from Polluzha - Rahovec (since 4 February); Salih M. Salihu (1962) from Talinoc i Jerlive - Ferizaj (since 5 February), as well as the whereabouts of Xhavit Avdiu (54) from Ferizaj (kidnapped on 31 January 1999).
Trials...
The Serbian Run District Court in Prizren convicted
the following persons for "hostile activity" and "terrorism": on 29 January
- dr.spec. Shani Bajraktari from Rahovec, who was given a suspended sentence
to 2 years of imprisonment; on 4 February - Islam Avdullah (1956) from
Reshtan (Suhareka) to 5 years of imprisonment, Shefqet Sadri Gajraku (1956)
from Suhareka and Bajram Eqrem Haxhijaj (1957) from Nepërbisht (Suhareka)
to 7 months of imprisonment.
The Serbian Run District Court in Peja convicted
the following persons for "hostile activity" and "terrorism": on 30 January
- Izet Sadri Zenunaj (1972) from Gramaçel, Mujë Halil Zekaj
(1976) from Carrabreg i Epërm and Selman Hysen Ukëhaxhaj (1976)
from Carrabreg i Poshtëm - to 2 years of imprisonment; Kadri Selman
Isufaj from Gramaçel to 1,5 year of imprisonment; Mehmet Idriz Dervishaj
(1940) from Gllogjan to 5 months of imprisonment - all from the district
of Deçan; 1 February - Asllan S. Asllani (1953) from Brovina (Gjakova)
to 1 year of imprisonment; 2 February - Xhafer Xh. Çufaj from Prejlep
(Deçan) to 1,5 year of imprisonment; 3 February - Ismet E. Sylaj
(1951) from Rracaj (Gjakova) to 6 months of imprisonment and Xhafer Rr.
Mulaj (1962) from Llozhan (Peja) to 4 months of imprisonment; 4 February
- Gazmend M. Krasniqi (1971) to 3,5 year of imprisonment and Arsim Sh.
Krasniqi (1977) and Fahri S. Krasniqi (1978) to 2,5 years of imprisonment
each - the three from Vranoc (Peja) and Albert K. Sadiku (1978) from Peja
to 2 years of imprisonment and Gani E. Buçaj (1969) from Drenoc
(Klina) to 1,5 year of imprisonment.
The Serbian Run District Court in Prishtina convicted
Sejdi Bega (50) from Jezerc (Ferizaj) to 2 years of imprisonment for "terrorism"
on 3 February; whereas on 5 February, it convicted the following 26 Albanians
to 287 years of imprisonment for "hostile activity" and "terrorism": Enver
Topalli (1959) and Sylejman Bytyçi (1952) to 15 years each; Besim
Zymberi (1968) and Skënder Idrizi (1968) to 14 years; Agim Reçica
(1963) to 13 years; Ahmet Hoxha (1945) to 5 years; Ylber Topalli (1965)
to 4 years; Xhevat Zariqi (1960) to 3 years and Haxhi Bytyçi (1964)
to 2 years of imprisonment - all in pre-trial detention. The others were
convicted in absentia: Hilmi Reçica (1961), Shaban Viça (1959),
Emrush Xhemajli (1959) and Sami Hajrullahu (1964) - to 15 years; Imri Ilazi
(1963) to 14 years; Xhabir Morina (1959), Xhavit Gashi (1951), Qamil Xhemaili
(1963), Milaim Jashari (1948) and Sinan Azemi (1963) to 13 years; Ekrem
Jashari (1951) to 12 years; Remzi Azemi (1961) to 11 years; Bashkim Reçica
(1969) and Mentor Morina (1965) to 10 years each; Hajdin Abazi (1959) to
9 years; Ismet Sadiku (1941) to 8 years and Abdurrahman Oruçi (1950)
to 3 years of imprisonment.
The Serbian Run District Court in Mitrovica convicted
Sadat Xhemajl Hasani (22) from Stroc (Vushtrri) to 1 year of imprisonment
for "hostile activity".
THE COURSE OF EVENTS:
1 FEBRUARY:
FERIZAJ: Last night, in "Emin Duraku" st., unknown
persons kidnapped Xhavit Avdiu (54), a tailor, while he was waiting for
his son. At the same place, 5 unknown persons in a car without plates ill-treated
Emin Hasani (31) from Ferizaj.
PRISHTINA: Last night, at about 10.00 p.m., unknown
persons threw blasting material in the yard of "Gëzimi-II" shop, owned
by Rrahman Ismaili, in "Nëna Tereze" st., which is opposite to the
Radio Prishtina building. The very same night, in the vicinity of the Serb
Orthodox Church, unknown persons attacked and severely ill-treated Bashkim
Rama . Today, Fatbardha Maxhuni from Novosella e Maxhunit (Vushtrri), a
pupil with the "Ali Sokoli" Medical Secondary School in Prishtina, was
subjected to ill-treatment by a Serbian fellow-villager. He took her ID
card, DM 20 and 20 dinars from her. Due to injuries suffered, Fatbardha
had to seek for medical assistance. A group of Serbian civilians severely
ill-treated Vesel Xhymshiti (1976), a mechanic from Gjilan, "Mon Beqiri"
st.7/120 and caused him injuries. In the "Ulpiana" quarter, some Serbian
civilians severely ill-treated Atdhe Ahmetaj from Prishtina and another
student.
PODUJEVA: Yesterday, Serbian forces opened fire
towards the village of Sallabaja and the Majaci Gorge. Fresh Serb forces
arrived in Kosova from the direction of Kurshumlia. The house of Ruzhdi
Kastrati in Peran was looted and demolished again.
MITROVICA: Automatic gun fire was heard in the
"Kroi i Vitakut", "7 Shtatori", "Bair" and the Romany quarters. In the
"Kroi i Vitakut", Serb policemen checked and ill-treated the passers-by.
OBILIQ: In the evening, Serbian military and
police forces stationed at the place called "Kërshat e Grabocit" opened
fire towards the villages of Graboc and Shipitulla.
DEÇAN: The current situation in Isniq
is very grave. On the road Deçan-Peja, there were fire shots and
two Serbian policemen got wounded. Today, in the afternoon, about 30 policemen
searched for weapons at and demolished the houses of Hamëz Haklaj
and Osman Demir Haklaj (78). The latter was arrested and severely ill-treated.
Over 4000 inhabitants are fearing from an attack of Serbian forces on the
civilian population. In the meantime, the inhabitants living along the
main road had fled their homes.
VUSHTRRI: Serbian police severely ill-treated
Rushit Syla (18), a pupil with the "Muharrem Bekteshi" Gymnasium, while
he was returning from his lessons. In the vicinity of the military barracks,
Serbian police stopped the bus of "Galica Com" travel agency and ill-treated
the passengers, mainly pupils and teachers with the secondary schools in
town.
SHTIME: Last night, at about 9.30, three masked
persons went into the house of Xhevdet Zymeri in Godanc i Poshtëm
and wounded Binë Halili (57), Behrije (15) and Bekim Dulaku (12).
They were taken to the Prishtina Hospital. Today, in the early hours of
the morning, Serbian forces surrounded the village of Godanc i Epërm.
RAHOVEC: At about 5.00 p.m., fire shots were
heard at the local police station.
GJAKOVA: Some armed Serbian civilians stopped
Marjan Marku, member of the Board of the LDK branch in Gjakova. His three
children and three other children from Korenica were with him. They were
taken out of the car and severely ill-treated.
HANI I ELEZIT: Macedonian police in Shkupi arrested
Isa Shkreta from Seqishta, former activist with the District Financial
Council in Han i Elezit. He has been living in Shkup after being threatened
by the Serbian police regarding his activity.
2 FEBRUARY:
GENEVA: Kris Janovski, a spokesman of the UNHCR,
stated that over 45.000 Kosovar Albanians fled their homes during the month
of January. According to him, over 20% of the population in Kosova is currently
displaced.
DEÇAN: During the last two days, Serbian
police forces attacked and shelled the villages of Ratisha and Dashinoc.
PODUJEVA: During the last two days, Serbian military
and police forces shelled the villages of Llapashtica, Obrança,
Godishnjak and Majac. In the villages of Serbia, along the border with
Kosova, in the vicinity of the villages of Dumnica e Epërme and Përpellac,
loud detonations and fire shots were heard during the last two days.
MITROVICA: Police found a large quantity of weapons
and ammunition in a lorry with the plates of Macedonia. Sasha Serafimovski,
a Macedonian driver, was arrested.
Last night, a Serb from the "7 Shtatori" quarter
opened fire towards different directions. Policemen stationed at some cross-roads
in town ill-treated passers-by, whereas the Albanian drivers were forced
to sent their vehicles to automobile inspection.
PRIZREN: At about 3.00 a.m., three armed Serbs
went into the "Besa" bakery, threatened the owner Nihat Gashi with liquidation,
broke the windows of the "Aurora" bakery and the windows of the cars owned
by Ismet Binaj. They also demolished the "Epoli" shop, owned by Ersan Mati.
In the vicinity of Celina (Rahovec), police stopped the bus of the "El
tours" travel agency, and forced out of the bus Sadri Haxhi Morina (1951)
from Astrazub (Malisheva), living in Prizren, "Brezovica" st.105. He was
taken to the Security Centre in Prizren and was severely ill-treated in
order to confess that he had come to Prizren by the KLA order.In Grazhdanik,
three policemen severely ill-treated Mevlan Hoxha from Vlashnja and Fatmir
Susuri from Zhur, who suffered injuries and had to seek for medical assistance.
Since 29 january, the village of Dobrusha, which is in the vicinity of
the border zone with Albania, has been blocked by the Serbian military
and police forces. The population has fled towards other villages in the
district of Prizren.
VUSHTRRI: Under the pretext of accompanying a
group of Japanese journalists, large police forces in armoured cars went
to Novolan and caused insecurity among the Albanian population. In Vushtrri,
Serbian police stopped Shaqir Rreci from Llausha (Skënderaj), sheltered
in Vushtrri, took DM 700 from him and ordered him to report to the police
station.
PRISHTINA: A group of Serbian pupils with the
Gymnasium attacked and severely ill-treated Izmer Shukolli from Duhla,
who had come to Prishtina for a medical examination, and looted DM 50 from
him. He suffered heavy injuries and had to seek for medical assistance.
The hooligans attacked some other passers-by. In the vicinity of the Medical
Faculty, a group of Serbian students severely ill-treated Bajram Sinani
(1978), a student from Magura (Lipjan). In the vicinity of Xhamia e Llapit,
a group of 10-15 Serbian civilians attacked Ardian Mjekiqi.
VITI: In the early hours of the morning, in Budrika
e Epërme, unknown persons in a car opened fire towards the "Internisti"
private office, owned by dr. Shemsedin Sadiku (1958).
GJAKOVA: Serbian police, accompanied by the "local
police", raided the houses of and arrested Ymer Arifaj and Sadik Kasumaj
from Skivjan. Demë Beqiri from Baballoç (Deçan), sheltered
in the "Piskota" quarter in Gjakova, was arrested and severely ill-treated
at the police station. Due to injuries suffered, he had to seek for medical
assistance. Police intervened in the house of Zef Ademi in Gjakova. Smajl
S. Syla from Rrypaj, arrested several days ago, was sent to the prison
in Peja.
SHTIME: In the outskirts of Lipjan, Serbian police
stopped and kept Shaip Mustafa, Haxhi Mullasmajli and Skënder Salihu
at the police station for several hours. They were on their way to take
the corpses of the people massacred in Reçak, which were in the
morgue of Prishtina Hospital.
ISTOG: In Vrella, a police squad arrested and
severely ill-treated Kreshnik R. Zeqiraj (19) from Studenica and Ali M.
Hakaj from Orrobërda. They were taken to the police station in Istog
and later on released as the OSCE verifiers were present. Serbian policemen
forced out of the bus and severely ill-treated Liridon Hajdaj and Sahit
Kajtazaj from Lubova.
FERIZAJ: A Serbian traffic policeman severely
ill-treated Muhamet Karaliti (1967) from Pleshina e Epërme.
3 FEBRUARY:
SHTIME: Today, after 5.00 p.m., 29 out of 45 corpses
of the victims of the massacre in Reçak were brought in Shtime.
Serbian police ordered the imam to place the corpses in the mosque. They
also ordered him to bury the corpses one by one without any ceremony. The
family members of the victims wanted all corpses in order to conduct the
burial according to the tradition. Later on, the corpses were sent back
to Prishtina.
MITROVICA: Yesterday, about 70 policemen in different
vehicles went to Shupkoc and raided 6 houses, severely ill-treated many
inhabitants and arrested 4 of them. After 8.00 p.m., police stationed at
the "Broteks" Plant opened fire towards Shupkoc. Later on, the villages
of Shupkoc, Kçiç i Madh, Kçiç i Vogël
and Zasella ran out of electricity. The population fled towards Mitrovica
and villages around. Today, at about 8.00 a.m., Serb foces in 5 armoured
APCs headed towards Shupkoc.
PODUJEVA: Serbian military and police forces
opened fire towards Sallabaja and Majac. Today, they opened fire towards
Llapashtica.
ISTOG: In the late hours of the evening, unknown
persons opened fire towards the mosque in Istog, broke the windows and
caused other material losses.
FERIZAJ: In the vicinity of Dremjak, police arrested
Bekim Haliti (19) from Ferizaj, "Dukagjini" st., took him to the police
station in Shtime, severely ill-treated him and then took him to the police
station in Ferizaj. In the meantime, police raided his house, confiscated
a typing-machine and a camera and arrested his father Ibrahim (1940). Both
were subjected to severe ill-treatment at police custody and were ordered
to report again on 5 February. Policemen and armed civilians surrounded
the Doganaj quarter in Ferizaj and raided the houses of Bafti Ademi, Zejnë
Salihu, Elmaz Istrefi, Xheladin Beqiri and Ramadan Krivanjeva. The latter
was subjected to severe ill-treatment.
GJAKOVA: At about 1.30 p.m., a lorry and 4 APCs
full of policemen were stationed in the vicinity of the "Gani Hoxha" Primary
School in Rogova.
PRIZREN: In Gjonaj, Serbian forces arrested Qazim
Qoqaj, principal of the primary school in the village. He was taken for
informative talks and ordered to report again after a week.
RAHOVEC: While working, the following were arrested
by the police: Ridvan (28), Aziz (25) and Mitat Ramadani (20) and Ylber
Rexhepi (20) - all from Krusha e Madhe. They were subjected to severe ill-treatment
at the police station.
PRISHTINA: In the vicinity of the Medical Secondary
School, a group of Serbs beat Bujar Hasimi (15) and Lirie Beha (15), pupils
with the Economic Secondary School. In the vicinity of the technical faculties,
some Serbian civilians severely ill-treated Bashkim Çerkini, a student
from Ferizaj.
4 FEBRUARY:
SKËNDERAJ: At about 2.00 p.m., large police
and military forces in lorries and armoured cars attempted to enter Llausha,
but as they were confronted by the KLA units, they withdrew after half
an hour.
RAHOVEC: At the places called "Bërnjaka"
and "Te rrasat", Serbian police are provoking and arresting passers-by
every day. Today, they arrested Gani Tahir Kabashi from Çifllak
and the following passengers Sadri (51) and Rexhep Morina (18) from Astrazub
(Malisheva), who were taken out of the bus of the "Shehu" travel agency,
which travels from Rahovec to Prishtina. Milan Banziq , a policeman from
Opterusha, forced out of the bus his fellow-villager Agim Nezir Mazreku
(1981), a pupil with the "Ramiz Sadiku" Secondary School, while he was
travelling to Hoça e Vogël, where his family is sheltered.
He was taken to the police station, severely ill-treated, threatened with
liquidation and ordered to report again on 8 February.
PODUJEVA: Serbian military and police forces,
stationed at Tabet e Llapashticës, shelled Llapashtica.
PRISHTINA: In the early hours of the morning,
Serbian police took Muhamet Kiçina (22) from Bainca (Gllogoc), who
was being hospitalized in Prishtina since 25 January. After being wounded,
he was brought to hospital by the OSCE verifiers. In the centre of the
town, two unknown Serbian speaking persons attacked and attempted to kidnap
Afërdita Aliu (1973), a student from Kaçanik i Vjetër.
They took DM 60 and 50 dinars from her. Thanks to the intervention of an
Albanian passer-by, she managed to avoid the kidnapping. She was taken
to the hospital and was given medical assistance. One of the assaulters
attacked and threatened Afërdita on 17 January. In Grashtica, at the
place called "Ura e Grashticës", a policeman and some Serbian civilians
stopped and looted Albanian passers-by between 4.00 and 10.00 p.m.
PEJA: In the late hours of the evening, there
was an explosion in front of the "Sao Paolo" shop. The window was damaged.
LIPJAN: In Magura, Serbian policemen arrested
Hanefi Olluri from Krojmir. He was taken for informative talks and severely
ill-treated.
PRIZREN: Elez Flugaj (25) was arrested yesterday
in "Opoja" tea shop and severely ill-treated in police custody. His ID
card was taken. Today, he was summoned to the police station. In the "Bazhdarhane"
quarter, in the outskirts of the town, police arrested Shaip Burduri, a
teacher with the "Gjon Buzuku" Secondary School.
GJAKOVA: In Dobrosh, police searched for weapons
at the house of Brahim Rama. He and his sons Bashkim (23) and Vllaznim
(17) were arrested. Xhemail Rexha (45) was arrested and severely ill-treated.
He was ordered to report to the police station in Ponoshec.
FERIZAJ: Serbian police summoned Bedri Shkodra
and Hasan Konjufca for informative talks.
5 FEBRUARY:
PRISHTINA: Serbian authorities prevented the delegation
of the Republic of Kosova from travelling to Paris in order to participate
in the International Conference on Kosova in Rambouillet. The delegation
was to leave from the airport of Prishtina. The members of the delegation
insisted on travelling together, whereas the Serbian authorities did not
allow the arrival of the KLA representatives to the airport of Prishtina.
Unknown persons opened fire towards the "Ardido&Andi"
pizza shop, owned by Gëzim Kastrati (1962), "Trigllavi" st.3/B. Unknown
persons threw blasting material at the "Alibi" cafe, owned by Nebojsha
Gërbushiq. Material losses were caused in both cases.
RAHOVEC: There are no information on the whereabouts
of Isuf Berisha (63) from Polluzha, a guard with "Fetoshi" enterprise in
Xërxa. At noon, a military plane flew over Rahovec. Later on, a loud
detonation was heard in town.
MALISHEVA: Military planes flew over the territory
of the district of Malisheva between 9.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m. Two loud
detonations were heard in Kijeva between 11.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m.
MITROVICA: On their way to Skënderaj, large
police forces provoked the passers-by while passing through Mitrovica and
Shipol. In the vicinity of the bus station, Serbian policemen and inspectors
raided and looted goods from the shops owned by Musa Rifat Shabani (31),
Ali Selaci (43), Bajram Smajl Aliu (41), Bedri Avdi Maliqi (34), Shaban
Hamit Sadiku (36), Blerim Ahmet Brahimi (35), etc. They also looted the
"Kiki Kendi" firm, owned by Isa Shipoli. Remzi Osmani , a worker, was ordered
to report to the police station.
OBILIQ: During the last two days, fire shots
were heard from the positions of Serbian forces at "Kërshat e Grabocit"
towards Graboc i Epërm, Graboc i Poshtëm and Shipitulla. Fire
shots were heard in Obiliq, when some Serbian civilians attacked and injured
Sokol Havolli (1983) from Shkabaj (Prishtina), a pupil with the "Hasan
Tahsini" Technical Secondary School in Obiliq. Several other pupils with
the "Pandeli Sotiri" Primary School in Plemetin were attacked, too.
SUHAREKA: At noon, a loud blast was heard in
Suhareka. After that, Serbian police forces stationed in Biraç opened
fire towards different directions. Serbian forces from Qafa e Duhlës
opened fire towards Grejçec.
KAÇANIK: A military plane flew over the
town.
KLINA: Military planes flew over the territory
of Klina. Serbian civilians are mobilized and are provoking and ill-treating
the Albanian population. Some Serbian reservists ill-treated several pupils
with the "Luigj Gurakuqi" Secondary School. There are large military forces
in Sverka and Volljaka.
PRIZREN: On their way home, Selajdin Qemal Kadriu
(1962) and Sadri Haxhi Qovanaj (1974) with his wife - all from Petrova,
were arrested by the Serbian police. Sadri and his wife were released,
whereas Selajdin was kept in detention, even though he has problems with
his health.
ISTOG: In the centre of Gurrakoc, Serbian forces
arrested Besim Sadik Balaj (27) and Shefki Elez Balaj from Zabllaç.
Both were taken to the local police station, then to the Security Centre
in Istog and were interrogated. Later on, both were released.
PODUJEVA: Elmaze Bici visited her father Hakif
Bici (1936), a pensioner from Godishnjak (Podujeva), who was wounded due
to shelling on 27 January. A policeman was guarding him in front of the
door and another one in his room. The latter threw the food that Elmaze
brought for her father. Hakif managed to tell her that he was ill-treated,
despite the fact that he was lying in hospital.
FERIZAJ: Some Serbian policemen searched for
Beqir Leka.
6 FEBRUARY:
PODUJEVA: Serbian forces shelled the village of
Llapashtica from 1.45 a.m. The detonations were heard in the town itself.
Today, the villages of Sallabaja, Majac and Godishnjak were shelled. Mortars
and cannons of high calibre were used. In the early hours of the morning,
fresh military and police forces in lorries, APCs, etc., came from Serbia
and headed towards Prishtina. The roads Podujeva-Kërpimeh-Llapashtica
and Lupç-Majac were blocked.
Serbian forces are looting the vacant houses
in the abandoned Albanian villages. Some inhabitants of Lluzhan, who had
tried to return to their homes, were prevented and beaten by the police.
SUHAREKA: Between 8.45 and 11.00 p.m., military
and police forces opened automatic gun and mortar fire in Sllapuzhan, even
though a team of the OSCE verifiers is stationed in this village.
GLLOGOC: At about 1.30 p.m., on the road Çikatova
e Re-Gllobar, 6 policemen chased and demolished the car in which three
Albanians were. Luckily, the three managed to escape.
MITROVICA: In the centre of the town, there were
fire shots towards the building near-by the OSCE VM office. The bullets
hit the flat of Shefqet Muharrem Shala (40).
KLINA: Serbian forces opened fire towards Shtupel
and Kërrnica. The local population was forced to flee and take shelter
in the nearest forests.
7 FEBRUARY:
GJAKOVA: Serbian police arrested Dervish Syla
(33) from Ratisha (Deçan), sheltered with his family in Gjakova.
Sokol Sylë Salihu (19) from Shishman, displaced in Piskota, and Ramë
Dinë Hoxha (60) from Cërmjan, displaced in Gjakova, were arrested
and taken to the police station in Gjakova.
MITROVICA: In the "Tavnik" quarter, policemen
Dejan Saviq and Rexho let a summon for Zojë Bajram Xani-Ceraviku (50)
to report to the police station.
DELAYED INFORMATION:
KLINA: On 18 January, KLA forces arrested Bashor
Gegë Buzhala (50) from Çabiq.
PRIZREN: On 26 January, Serbian police arrested
Sokol Ymer Kabashi (1970) from Krushica (Suhareka), owner of the "Sokoli
Tours" firm, who is accused for "terrorism". He was sent to a pre-trial
detention of 30 days. On 27 January, Nemanja Drakuloviq (1985), a pupil
from Prizren, hit Sanela Alimoviq (1985), a Muslim pupil, with an iron
bar on her head. On 27 January, in the vicinity of the monument in Landovica,
Serbian police arrested Fadil (26) and Sefer H. Bytyçi (23) from
Dushanova. On 30 January, in the outskirts of Prizren, Ahmet Tafil Mazreku
from Dushanova was arrested. He was kept at the Security Centre in Prizren
for 24 hours and severely ill-treated. He suffered heavy injuries and was
ordered to report again on 2 February.
FERIZAJ: On 29 January, Serbian police raided
the house of Qerim Guta (1949) in Zaskok. As they failed to find his son
Ali (20), policemen severely ill-treated him and left him a summon to report
to the Security Centre in Ferizaj on 1 February. On 30 January, Serbian
police searched for Bedri Shkodra, an LDK activist, took his father and
ordered him to report with Bedri on 1 February. PEJA: On 30 January, Serbian
police raided the house and the mill of Hamdi Shaban Mecini (38) in Zahaq.
He and Jakup Ramë Kelmendi (40) from Llabjan, who happened to be there,
were arrested.
VUSHTRRI: On 31 January, at the old bus station,
Serbian police severely ill-treated Rexhep N. Morina (40) from Okrashtica,
while he was buying flour in the "Rashani" shop. They took 100 dinars from
him.
DEÇAN: On 31 January, in Sllup, police
arrested Nais Lush Hadërgjonaj (31) from Sllup and Kamer Rexhep Himaj
(33) from Lloçan.
OBILIQ: On 31 January, Serbian military forces
looted and burned the house of Sheremet Berisha (1931) in Graboc i Poshtëm.
