Killings, mutilations, violent deaths...
5 FEBRUARY: The corpse of Isuf Berisha (1936)
from Polluzha (Rahovec) was found at the place called "Ura e Terzive" in
Bishtazhin (Gjakova). He was kidnapped a night before.
7 FEBRUARY: Sabahate Zeka (18) and Xhemajl Smaqi
(23), both Romanies, were killed under unknown circumstances at the place
called "Zidi i Sadik Agës" in Gjakova at about 8.30 p.m.
8 FEBRUARY: Due to the intervention of the OSCE
KVM representatives, the corpses of two killed persons, which were found
yesterday at the place called "Krivareka", 3 km away from Kaçanik,
were identified. They are: Xhavit Avdiu (1945) from Ferizaj, who was kidnapped
on 31 January 1999, and Salih M. Salihu (1962) from Talinoc i Jerlive (Ferizaj),
who was reported missing on 5 February 1999. -It was confirmed that Naim
Halil Dreshaj (30) from Prigoda (Istog) was killed by Serbian forces in
Rogova (Gjakova) on 29 January.
9 FEBRUARY: Sub-CDHRF in Gjakova informed us
that the police forces buried the corpse of an unidentified Albanian, which
was brought to the morgue of the Gjakova Hospital on 28 January. It is
supposed that he was killed on the border with Albania. The very same day,
the corpse of an unidentified person was brought to the morgue of the Gjakova
Hospital. It is supposed that he was killed on 28 January.
10 FEBRUARY: At the morgue of the Prishtina Hospital,
the family members identified the corpse of Muhamet Gani Reka (33) from
Ferizaj, who was kidnapped on 7 February. -At about 8.00 p.m.,only 500
m away from his house, Qerim Musa Sykaj (50) from Novosella (Peja), father
of 5, a worker with the Brewery Plant in Peja, was found dead. -It was
confirmed that Bedri Sejdi Bajrami (24) from Podujeva, member of the KLA
special unit, was killed during the attack of the Serbian forces on some
villages of the Llapi region on 28 January. -Serbian media inform that
the corpse of Branisllav Skuliq, an engineer from Belgrade, who was killed
at the place called "Kroi i Mbretit" in the vicinity of Komoran (Gllogoc)
on 13 January, was identified. The late was reported missing since December
last year.
11 FEBRUARY: The corpse of Haki Ramadan Hoti
(30) from Dubrava (Istog) was found in Zallç, between Istog and
Rakosh. He was kidnapped by unknown persons last night at about 6.00 p.m.,
after he closed his shop in Istog.
12 FEBRUARY: Between 4.00 and 4.30 p.m., Serbian
policemen in an armoured car, which was heading from Komoran to Prishtina,
stopped the tractor of Rexhep Hamit Rexhepi (32) from Korrotica e Poshtme
(Gllogoc). They executed him as soon as he got off the tractor. -The corpse
of Feriz Ibish Demaku (65) from Abria e Epërme (Gllogoc), who was
killed by unknown persons, was found today.
14 FEBRUARY: Demush Osman Muçaj (47),
a retarded person from Lluka e Epërme, was found in blood and unconscious
in Baballoç (Deçan), in the vicinity of the settlement of
the Serbian refugees from Albania. Due to the torture suffered, he died
today in the Gjakova Hospital.
Kidnappings and involuntary disappearances...
During the last week, we were informed that the whereabouts of the following missing persons are unknown: Ibish Sadri Mujaj (47) from Nabërgjan-Peja (since 10 February 1999), Adem Rexhep Muçkurtaj (43) from Naklla-Peja (since 11 February 1999), Afrim Tafil Osmani (34) from Dolak-Vushtrri and Sami Maçastena (27) from Vushtrri (since 11 February 1999), as well as Halil Hashani (30) from Greme-Ferizaj (kidnapped-since 13 February 1999).
Trials...
The Serbian Run District Court in Peja convicted
the following persons for "hostile activity": Ilir I. Krasniqi to 2,5 years
of imprisonment (on 5 February); Sabri B. Arifaj (1966) from Gjakova to
2 years of imprisonment (on 8 February); Reshat Nurboja (1959), chairman
of the Civil League in Peja to 2 years of imprisonment (on 12 February).
The Serbian Run District Court in Prizren convicted
the following persons for "terrorism": Milazim N. Morina (1962), Fadil
I. Morina (1959), Arif A. Morina (1976), Mazllum A. Hoti (1961) and Arif
A. Morina (1976) - from Ratkoc; Bilall H. Durguti (1974) from Rahovec,
Gëzim N. Krasniqi (1960) from Malësia e Vogël and Daut I.
Bytyçi (1952) from Denja - district of Rahovec, to 5 years of imprisonment
each (on 10 February); Isuf Berisha (1958) to 5 years of imprisonment and
Zeqir Berisha (1957) to 2 years of imprisonment (on 11 February).
On 8 February, the Serbian Run District Court
in Mitrovica convicted the following: Safet Mehmet Ferizi from Stantërg
(Mitrovica) to 12 years and 4 months of imprisonment and Raif Mustafa (25)
from Abria e Poshtme (Skënderaj) to 10 months of imprisonment.
On 9 February, the Military Court in Nish (Serbia)
convicted the following for "terrorism": Jahir and Avdyl Morina to 8 years
of imprisonment each.
THE COURSE OF EVENTS:
7 FEBRUARY:
MITROVICA: At about 7.45 p.m., unknown persons
threw blasting material at the "Agimi" shop, owned by brothers Rexha in
the main street of the town. Material damages were caused. Prior to the
explosion, a car with BG plates passed by. Several minutes later, automatic
gun fire was heard at the Ibri Bridge. In the vicinity of the green market,
5 Serbian policemen insulted and severely ill-treated Avdyl Smajl Ceraviku
(17) and Kushtrim Isuf Hoti (18) from the "Tavnik" quarter.
GJAKOVA: Serbian police forces undertook a campaign
of raids in the Albanian houses in Dobrigja. A large number of population
had fled and taken shelter in Gjakova.
RAHOVEC: Shani Hoti (1974) from Ratkoc, a student
with the Pedagogical High School in Gjakova, is in the prison of Prizren.
He was arrested in Bishtazhin (Gjakova) on 26 January.
8 FEBRUARY:
PODUJEVA: Serbian military and police forces shelled
the villages of Majac, Burica, Konushec, Godishnjak, Llapashtica, Obrança
and Katunishta. A convoy of 15 buses, 4 lorries and 4 other vehicles arrived
in Kosova from Serbia. At noon, about 50 inhabitants of Peran, accompanied
by the team of the OSCE KVM, made an attempt to return to their homes,
but were prevented by the Serbian military and police forces.
VUSHTRRI: In the vicinity of Bukosh, on his way
back home, Sefedin Sejdiu (1970) from Bukosh, a worker with the Kosova
GE, was severely ill-treated by a police squad.
GJILAN: A military convoy of 5 transporters,
2 lorries and an ambulance was stationed at the premises of the "Idriz
Hajrullahu" Primary School in Myçybaba. Serbian policemen arrested,
severely ill-treated and later on released Hamdi Maloku (1968), a cigarette
vendor, "L. Stefanoviq" st.4/26. The policeman called Vllasta took 7 packs
of cigarettes from him. The same policemen arrested Skënder Ibrahimi
(1957), a cigarette vendor, "R. Sadiku II" st.2/18, and took 330 packs
of cigarettes estimated to DM 500 from him.
PRISHTINA: A convoy of military and police forces
of 6 lorries and 4 tanks was stationed in Shkabaj.
9 FEBRUARY:
SUHAREKA: In the morning, military and police
forces opened fire towards Sllapuzhan and Bllaca, whereas in the afternoon,
military planes flew over the town.
MALISHEVA: Between 6.00 and 9.00 p.m., Serbian
police forces, stationed in Kijeva, machine gunned the villages of Mleçan,
Llazica, Balinca and Bubavec.
PODUJEVA: Serbian police prevented the villagers
of Peran from returning to their homes, even though they were accompanied
by the OSCE KVM representatives. Meanwhile, they are looting the Albanian
houses in this village.
VUSHTRRI: At the bus station, police stopped
4 lorries and 2 other vehicles with humanitarian aid and kept them there
for an hour until the OSCE verifiers intervened. In the vicinity of the
OSCE KVM office in Vushtrri, a police squad severely ill-treated an Albanian
citizen. In the evening, Serbian militaries from Prilluzha opened fire
towards Stanoc i Poshtëm.
FERIZAJ: In the early hours of the morning, Serbian
police forces in some APCs, armoured cars and other vehicles entered the
village of Dremjak. Policemen raided and demolished some Albanian houses
and arrested Xhemshit Behluli, his son Hetem, Sylejman, Hyzri and Shyqeri
Deliu, Nazmi Haliti and several other Albanians.
GLLOGOC: Xhemajl Muharrem Alushani (30) from
Komoran and Agim Rrustem Syla (29) from Nekoc, who were arrested on 8 January
in Magura (Lipjan), are under investigation.
GJAKOVA: Serbian police arrested Ali Rama from
Rracaj and Mehmet Mehmeti (54) from Jabllanica and severely ill-treated
Ehat Juniku (43) from Gjakova at his working place. Halil Gashi (26) from
Arllat (Gllogoc), sheltered in a mosque in Gjakova for 5 months now, was
arrested the day before yesterday in the presence of his 6-year-old son.
He was released today. While in police custody, he was subjected to torture.
PRIZREN: The trial against 24 Albanians from
Rahovec, accused of "terrorism", started at the Serbian Run District Court
in Prizren. The investigation proceedings was initiated against Selajdin
Qemal Kadriu (1962) from Petrova (Prizren), who was arrested on 5 February.
He was sent to pre-trial detention of 30 days.
MITROVICA: In Lushta, over 20 policemen stopped
2 vans with food, owned by Albanian merchants from Skënderaj. The
owners were arrested, whereas the goods were looted.
OBILIQ: In the vicinity of the gas station in
Obiliq, armed Serbian civilians, accompanied by Serbian policemen, beat
Arian Kurshumliu from Lajthishta and Jeton Morina from Hade, pupils with
the "Hasan Tahsini" Technical Secondary School. Arian suffered injuries
on his head, face and other parts of the body.
ISTOG: In the vicinity of the "Korabi" depot,
on the road Banja-Gurrakoc, Serbian policemen stopped Hasan Hetë Brahimaj
(49) from Kashica, interrogated him on the whereabouts of his brother Rrustem
and attempted to force him into their car, but he managed to escape.
10 FEBRUARY:
PODUJEVA: During the last two days (in the early
hours of the morning and afternoon), Serbian military and police forces
shelled the villages of Majac, Burica, Sallabaja, Konushec, Llapashtica
and Katunishta. They also attempted to enter Godishnjak. Fresh forces arrived
in Kosova from Serbia. Several lorries with mortars of 120 mm calibre arrived
from Prishtina and were stationed in the vicinity of the military base
in Dumosh. Large movements and deployment of Serbian forces were noticed
on the border with Serbia, in Përpellac and Tashec. A group of Serbian
civilians, led by a Serbian forester, threatened the inhabitants of Repa.
PRIZREN: At 3.00 a.m., in "2 Korriku" st., about
30 Serbian policemen raided and demolished the house of Arif Hasan Shabani
(1944). They beat him in the presence of his family members and looted
golden jewellery estimated to DM 1000. Policemen arrested Arif and his
ill son Afrim (1969). The same policemen raided the house of Bahtije Shabani
(70), seized her passport and searched for Ragip Qerim Çatani (35).
VUSHTRRI: Between 7.00 and 9.00 p.m., there were
fire shots from Graca, a village inhabited by Serbs, towards Stanoc i Poshtëm.
MITROVICA: In the early hours of the morning,
unknown persons set fire to the Ibri Mosque in Mitrovica. Thanks to the
maintainer, the fire was extinguished. Two carpets were partially burned.
There were no other damages. In the late hours of the evening, in front
of the "Agimi" cafe, in the vicinity of the green market, unknown persons
opened fire.
GJAKOVA: The so-called "local police" arrested
Rexhep Uka (28) from Batusha, sheltered in Gjakova, and Tafë Guci
(39) from Demjan. Serbian police ordered Ahmet Leka to hand in his nephew
Xhafer Uka from Ratisha e Poshtme (Deçan), who was sheltered in
his house in Gjakova.
OBILIQ: Serbian police forces, stationed in Obiliq
and Palaj, and armed Serbian civilians are stopping the private buses,
provoking, ill-treating and arresting the Albanian passengers and passers-by.
KAMENICA: A group of Serbian pupils (one of them
had a knife) entered the physical training hall of the "Fan S. Noli" Primary
School and attacked the Albanian pupils. In Strezoc, a Serbian policeman,
helped by other policemen, usurped the flat of Ibrahim Ibishi, former teacher
with the "Idriz Seferi" Primary School. Ibrahim has been living in this
flat for 22 years and has the proper documentation for it.
ISTOG: On the road Istog-Gurrakoc, 5 Serbian
policemen stopped and severely ill-treated Fahri Haxhiaj (23) from Kovraga
- due to his participation in the burial of Naim Dreshaj from Prigoda,
a KLA soldier.
PEJA: About 20 Serbian policemen searched for
Rajan Gashi, who is currently living abroad.
FERIZAJ: Serbian policemen arrested an Albanian
aged 25-30 in the yard of the "Jeronim De Rada" Primary School. Two unknown
persons in jeeps with PG plates (Montenegro) chased Halit Aliu from Bibaj,
who managed to escape.
11 FEBRUARY:
SHTIME: A month after the massacre on 45 Albanians
in Reçak, the burial of 40 victims of this massacre was held today
in the presence of thousands of citizens of Kosova. William Walker, the
OSCE KVM Head of Mission, and Pajazit Nushi, chairman of the CDHRF based
in Prishtina, held their speeches. Serbian police arrested Ragip Hafir
Emini (32) and Shemsie Sahit Emini (30) from Reçak, family members
of those subjected to massacre on 15 January.
PODUJEVA: During the last two days, Serbian military
and police forces shelled and machine gunned the Albanian villages. In
the morning, a Serbian military-police convoy of 18 buses, 5 armoured cars,
3 lorries and 2 APCs from Serbia headed towards Prishtina. Serbian military
forces deployed along the road Merdar-Podujeva-Prishtina.
GLLOGOC: At about 6.00 a.m., Serbian military
forces in 15 tanks and 2 lorries arrived in Llapushniku Gorge. After an
hour, 4 tanks and 2 armoured cars were stationed in Potërku quarter
in Llapushnik, whereas other tanks headed towards Gjergjica. Later on,
Serbian forces in 30 armoured cars, lorries, landrovers, jeeps and other
vehicles paraded on the road Prishtina-Peja. After 9.00 a.m., 5 tanks accompanied
by OSCE KVM mission in Gllogoc and Prishtina withdrew towards Prishtina,
whereas the other machinery withdrew at about 11.00 a.m. The Albanian population
had to flee towards Krajkova and other settlements in a very bad weather.
PRIZREN: Last night in Dushanova, over 30 Serbian
policemen raided and demolished the houses of brothers Muhamet (1956),
Fadil (1963), Fatmir (1966) and Shaip Jakup Kryeziu (1969), where the 13-member-family
of Rrustem Tahir Berisha (1940) from Volljaka (Klina) was sheltered. Policemen
looted DM 4500 and golden jewellery estimated to DM 2500. They severely
ill-treated and arrested Muhamet and Fadil Kryeziu, as well as Rrustem
Berisha with his sons Elbush (21), Ahmet (25) and Din (17). Prior to the
arrival of the OSCE KVM team in Dushanova, Muhamet, Fadil and Rrustem were
released at about midnight, whereas the others were released today, at
noon. Another Serbian police squad raided the house of and arrested Asllan
Qazim Fanajn (35) from Kobaja.
MALISHEVA: Fresh Serbian forces were stationed
at the place called "Te pishat e Llazicës". They pointed their weaponry
towards Vërmica. Fire shots were heard towards Balinca. In the centre
of Malisheva, Serbian police kidnapped Hysni Asllan Morina (38) from Lubizhda
(Malisheva), temporarily employed in Sllovenia. He was taken in his car
to the police station in Rahovec.
VUSHTRRI: At about 6.00 p.m., armed Serbian civilians
were noticed in the vicinity of the military barracks in Vushtrri. At the
same place, Serbian youngsters provoked and ill-treated Albanian pupils,
whereas the policemen watched them.
MITROVICA: In the vicinity of the green market,
4 Serbian policemen arrested brothers Basri (26) and Isa Hamdi Hyseni (28),
"Ura e Gjakut" quarter. After being interrogated, they were released. In
Suhodoll i Epërm, Serbian policemen stopped and beat brothers Sulejman
(30), a driver, and Sami Sherif Beka (26), a ticket collector of the bus
of the "Ariani" travel agency, Bahri Hasan Hajra (25) and Sabit Ramadan
Hajra (29) from Gushavc, Enver Osman Kurteshi (20) and Qamil Izet Kurteshi
(18) from Vinarc i Epërm, and forced them to eat a cigarette each.
After midnight, unknown persons opened fire towards the "Toplica" firm,
owned by Nazmi Pllana.
ZUBIN-POTOK: 3 Serbian policemen stopped and
arrested Ali Bilall Ferizi from Çabra (Zubin-Potok) in front of
his house in the "Qendra" quarter. He was taken to the police station in
Mitrovica, subjected to ill-treatment and ordered to report again on 13
February.
SUHAREKA: In Han i Elezit, on the border-cross
with Macedonia, Serbian police arrested Qazim Tahir Gollopeni (1945), a
mentally ill person from Dobërdolan.
ISTOG: In the centre of Istog, Serbian police
arrested Avdi Salihaj (42) from Shushica e Poshtme and severely ill-treated
Valdet Hasanaj (22) from Cerca. He was taken to the police station and
released later on.
FERIZAJ: In Koshare, Serbian police arrested
an Albanian youngster, who had participated in the burial of the victims
of Reçak. In "Lagjja e Re" st. in Ferizaj, Besart Isufi was chased
by a car with its lights off. Ymer Çerkini was taken for informative
talks at the police station. Faton Osmani (1971) from Ferizaj was arrested
by the Serbian police under the pretext that he had bought weapons from
Serbs.
PRISHTINA: According to Serbian media, 2007 Albanians
were charged for "terrorism", "hostile activity" and "threatening of territorial
integrity". 1060 of them are under investigation in pre-trial detention.
Serbian police forces and inspectors confiscated
100 t of flour in Rudare, on the border with Serbia. The flour was bought
by "CAP Anamur" German humanitarian organization for the needs of "Mother
Theresa" Humanitarian & Charitable Association.
At the bus station in the village of Unitet (Truda),
two Serbian civilians severely ill-treated Shemsi Shala (1979), a student
with the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Prishtina. Due to injuries suffered,
Shemsi had to seek for medical assistance.
12 FEBRUARY:
PODUJEVA: Serbian military and police forces,
stationed at the Tabet e Llapashticës, shelled Llapashtica.
KLINA: Serbian forces are opening fire and provoking
the inhabitants of the villages of Klinac, Kërrnica, Gllareva, Rixheva,
Stapanica and Sverka. The policeman called Markoviq and another Serbian
civilian threatened Kastriot Prenaj (25) from Klina and damaged the tires
of his car.
MALISHEVA: Serbian forces attempted to enter
Llazica, Balinca and Mleçan. Due to the quick intervention of the
OSCE verifiers, the conflict was avoided. Serbian forces opened fire in
the vicinity of Balinca, whereas in Malisheva, Serbian policemen arrested
an Albanian citizen, who was travelling by his car.
PRISHTINA: At about 1.10 a.m., in "Dardania"
quarter, a Serbian civilian opened the window in the flat of Shefki Rafuna
and tried to throw a bomb. As he was noticed, he ran away.
DEÇAN: In Pobergja, Serbian army are preventing
the Albanians from returning to their burned and destroyed houses. Machinery
from the "Shipad" Plant in Deçan was transported by lorries accompanied
by the Serbian police. Serbian police in two lorries looted timber from
the yard of the house of Qazim Mataj in Pobergja.
RAHOVEC: Serbian police arrested two villagers
from the district of Rahovec and took them to the "Park" hotel, where the
Serbian police are stationed.
ISTOG: Some members of Serbian special police
units, who provoked and ill-treated the Albanian inhabitants of Zallq,
Gurakoc and Rakosh, arrived in the district of Istog.
PEJA: Large Serbian forces were deployed at the
check-points and in the outskirts of the town. They ill-treated and beat
the passers-by. Large police movement were noticed in the town and its
surroundings.
MITROVICA: In the "Tavnik" quarter, Serbian police
arrested Murat Shemë Bajrami (26). On the road Mitrovica-Skënderaj,
Serbian policemen opened fire towards the car of Isuf Hajriz Veseli (48)
from Lushta (Mitrovica). They chased him up to Tërrnavc (Skënderaj),
where he managed to escape them. In the vicinity of the green market in
Mitrovica, 4 policemen insulted and beat Sabit Tafil Murati (39), "Ura
e Gjakut" quarter.
13 FEBRUARY:
GLLOGOC: At about 10.30 a.m., 5 landrovers full
of policemen and a military APC accompanied by OSCE KVM representatives
went to the house of Rexhep Hamit Rexhepi in Korrotica e Poshtme, who was
executed yesterday. They took his corpse under the pretext that the autopsy
must be conducted at the Forensic Institute in Prishtina. At that time,
the family had made the preparations for the burial.
FERIZAJ: Today, at noon, in the centre of the
town, in the vicinity of the premises of District Assembly and Jugobanka,
there was an explosion. The following were wounded: Shefki Behluli (1942)
from Bibaj, Agron Imishti (1981) from Ferizaj, Shefqet Sylejmani (1952)
from Rahovica, Basri Sejdiu (1958) from Gaçka, Agron Mustafa (1978)
from Pleshina, Ramadan Mjaku (1962) from Sllatina (Vitia), Sadik Hasani
from Sazlia, Sami Mehmeti (1981), Rafiz Hasimi (1981), Besim Fazliu (1958)
from Gllanasela (Gllogoc) etc. Shefqet Sylejmani and Basri Sejdiu were
heavily wounded and were taken to the Prishtina Hospital. It is believed
that the number of the wounded is much higher as today was the market day
in Ferizaj and at that moment, there were many people in the street. The
perpetrators are unknown. An eye-witness claimed that at that time, he
saw 3 persons throwing the blasting material from a black car without plates.
In the meantime, Serbian police arrested Jakup Krasniqi (60) from Ferizaj
and Gani Xhemaili, Sherif Xhemaili, Islam Islami and Iljaz Neziri, LDK
activists from Talinoc i Jerlive. After being interrogated, they were released
and ordered to report on 15 February.
PRISHTINA: Today, at about 10.30 p.m., in the
"Velania" quarter, in the vicinity of the residence of the President of
Kosova, an unknown person attempted to throw a bomb in the "De la Vita"
restaurant, owned by Bujar Pajaziti (30). Due to the quick intervention
of Bujar and his brother Burhan (26), he was prevented. The perpetrator
had another bomb and the "Hackler" revolver with him.
PODUJEVA: Today, at noon, Serbian forces shelled
Llapashtica. The detonations were heard in Podujeva itself.
SUHAREKA: Blood stains were noticed in front
of the post office this morning. There are rumours that Zvonko Trajkoviq
from Suhareka was wounded under unknown circumstances. Large police forces
have blocked the area. The situation is very grave in the whole district.
In the vicinity of Vërshec, 6 policemen opened fire towards Rrahim
Buqaj (30) from Budakova and Latif Vesel Fangu (62) from Bllaca. Rrahim
managed to escape, whereas Latif was captured and his whereabouts are unknown.
DEÇAN: Serbian military and police forces
were deployed along the roads Deçan-Gjakova and Deçan-Peja.
Military planes are flying over the region of Deçan.
GJAKOVA: About 20 policemen raided the houses
of Selajdin Krasniqi and Xhavit Hoxha. They arrested Selim Hoxha from Cërmjan
and Rukije Januzaj from Dujaka. Selim was severely ill-treated and after
being released, he had to seek for medical assistance. Shaban Myrtaj from
Osek-Hyla was taken again to the police station and is still under arrest.
The day before yesterday, policemen searched for weapons at his house and
arrested him.
MITROVICA: In the vicinity of the Serbian cemetery
in Mitrovica, police are stopping vehicles and ill-treating the passers-by.
In the vicinity of the cemetery in Shupkoc, Serbian police stopped about
120 people led by Asllan Zeqir Fazliu (28), imam with the "Haxhi Veseli"
mosque. They had attended a funeral. Policemen forced them to raise their
hands and cursed their "Albanian mothers". Policemen interrupted their
ill-treatment when the OSCE KVM representatives passed by. At the bus station
in Mitrovica, two inspectors arrested and interrogated Ajet Milazim Baliu
(47) from Kopriva under the pretext that his son Milazim (25) supplied
the KLA.
VUSHTRRI: Some Serbian policemen were stationed
at the bus station. They are stopping and ill-treating the Albanian passengers
and passers-by.
HANI I ELEZIT: In the village of Krivenik, 12
Serbian soldiers searched for weapons at the houses of Rrahim Çajani,
Rrahim and Orhan Thaçi.
14 FEBRUARY:
VUSHTRRI: Albanian inhabitants of the villages
of Qyqavica fled their homes today since the Yugoslav Army warned them
about their drill, which was to be held in the vicinity of the village
of Novolan and other villages. About 50 Serbian policemen from Stanoc i
Poshtëm headed towards Prilluzha. Automatic gun fire was heard in
the north of Vushtrri.
GJAKOVA: In Kramovik, a grenade exploded. Agim
and Valdet Kelmendi (12) were heavily wounded, whereas a mother and her
child were injured. Serbian police raided the houses of Gëzim Kadriu,
Ramë Kurrashi and Ymer Sahiti, as well as arrested Mehmet Sadriu (38)
from Brovina and Musli Selim Rexha (33) from Ponoshec. He was released
after an hour.
FERIZAJ: In "17 Nëntori" st., unknown persons
in a car without plates kidnapped Halil Hashani (30) from the village of
Greme and a friend of his. A police convoy, escorted by a helicopter, left
towards Shtime. Serbian police arrested Azem Bakollin (60), an LDK activist.
DEÇAN: In Lluka e Poshtme, Serbian police
arrested the infants Benon Kadriaj (16) from Lumbardh and Fahri Haklaj
(17) from Isniq, while they were on their way to Isniq.
MITROVICA: In the vicinity of the "Adriatik"
hotel, 4 Serbian policemen stopped and arrested Shefki Hamdi Hyseni (31)
from the "Ura e Gjakut" quarter.
KAÇANIK: A lorry full of policemen left
police station and headed towards an unknown direction.
DELAYED INFORMATION:
GJILAN: On 2 February, in the "Bllaca" private
firm in Cërnica, owned by Milaim Bllaca (1954) from Cërnica,
Serbian police looted 60 kg butter and 89 kg salt, even though the owner
had proper documentation for the goods.
OBILIQ: On 5 February, in the centre of the town,
armed Serbian civilians beat Alban Berisha and Nexhmedin Raçi from
Mazgit, pupils with the "Hasan Tahsini" Technical Secondary School. They
suffered body injuries.
HANI I ELEZIT: On 5 February, Serbian police
raided and demolished the house of Halil Berisha, under the pretext of
searching for weapons.
VUSHTRRI: On 6 February, some Serbian policemen
intervened at the office of the "Mother Theresa" Humanitarian & Charitable
Association" and prevented its work.
KAÇANIK: On 6 February, large police forces
surveyed the terrain in the village of Begraca. They ill-treated some Albanian
passers-by for 3 hours.
FERIZAJ: On 6 February, unknown persons broke
the windows of the "Jeronim De Rada" Primary School.
