KRIEG
beginnt im KOPF
                                 dem meinen
                                 und deinen.

Von dort wird er genährt.

FRIEDEN entspringt dem HERZEN
Er ist nicht zu machen.
ICH und DU
wir können ihn nur
zulassen.

Gebet des Friedens

Gott -
schenke mir die Kraft,
den Krieg in meinem Kopf zu beenden,
damit ich hinter den Aggressionen meiner Gedanken
den stillen Klang des Friedens vernehmen
und
den Mut und das Vertrauen finden kann
den Frieden zum Leben
zuzulassen.

The guide is already undergoing improvements and a new edition is being prepared.  It will be published on our website www.euinkosovo.org

As the guide will receive a prominent position on our website … There is much more to be found on www.euinkosovo.org, and I’m quite sure that your readers will be interested in finding out background info on Kosovo, on what is going on in the economic sphere and on the many things the European Union Pillar of UNMIK is doing here.

United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT

Press Briefing Notes, 29 September 2004

EU Spokesperson Kris Pierre Litière:

Good morning. I have two things for you today:

EU Member State Ambassadors to Belgrade are visiting Kosovo today and tomorrow. They will meet the SRSG and UNMIK and PISG officials. One press point is planned, at 6pm today at the Government building, after the meeting with the Prime Minister. If you would like transport to get there, we will arrange it for you. Please let us know after the press conference.

Secondly, I brought you some copies of the investment guide for Kosovo. This is what it looks like. The guide is published by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the UNMIK EU Pillar. It has just been printed and copies have already been distributed at the investors’ conference at the Grand Hotel on Monday.

As you see, the guide is called Investing in Kosovo. It provides information on Kosovo which is useful for potential investors.

The guide talks about the political structures in Kosovo, it mentions the fact that Kosovo has the lowest taxes in the region and points out why the tax system is business friendly.

It clearly refers to the advantages given to companies which in Kosovo manufacture products destined for export. It also draws the attention to the recent reduction of custom tariffs and the zero % VAT rate on inputs used in agricultural production. It highlights Kosovo’s modern legal framework and the banking system, and gives very practical information, such as how to register a company and how long it takes to do that. In other words, it says that Kosovo has a business friendly environment and tells investors what the advantages are when they come and invest here.

And finally it contains a list of useful contacts in organisations and institutions where potential investors can find more information.

I have a number of copies available for you. The first edition is running out very quickly, but we are printing more copies. Thank you.

Dear friends,

The situation in Palestine is getting drastically worse every day. The Palestinian people are being deprived of their land, water, and livelihoods all in the name of security for Israel. We believe strongly that the building of the Apartheid Wall is a political and not a security measure. The wall snakes deeply into Palestinian territory, annexing vast tracts of Palestinian land and de facto expanding the recognized borders of the Israeli state, right before the eyes of the international community. In order to reverse this alarming trend, citizens of the world must continue their activities in solidarity with Palestine, and increase these activities in the most useful and strategic ways.

The International Women’s Peace Service is offering several resources on our website for activists mounting campaigns against the Wall. This package of materials includes background articles, sample letters to the editor, a sample city council resolution, testimonials from Palestinians affected by the wall, maps, and pictures. If you are a teacher or professor, assign one of the articles here to your class. Modify the letter and flood your local newspapers with it. Start a campaign to get your city council or trade union to adopt the resolution provided. Use the testimonials in your poetry, theater performances, and vigils. Keep up your boycott and divestment campaigns and expand them to include any companies that benefit from the building of the wall. Remember that November 9 is the international day of action against the wall. The situation is urgent. Please work together, work strategically and creatively to tear down what is already completed and prevent what is not yet completed.

in Jesus Christus.
Amen.
