     KFOR reported that Serb baker was killed yesterday in French sector
and that the bomb was thrown at church in Prizren. In "East" sector 14 year old Serb boy was killed, and two other were wounded

KLA MEMBERS REFUSED TO DISARM

     Last night, in Lipovac village, near Srbica, French KFOR soldiers killed 4, and arrested 20 KLA members, which had resisted their request for disarmament.

CONFLICT BREWING BETWEEN KLA AND UN MISSION

     Leaders of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) deny full recognition of legal rights to the United Nations civilian administration in Kosovo and even threaten to take up arms again if the United Nations opposes the territory's striving for independence.

DEMONSTRATIONS IN UZICE

     UZICE, Yugoslavia -- About half an hour before the rally against President Slobodan Milosevic was to begin on Tuesday night, the town square was mostly empty, but the police were there, scowling.
     Then, within the minutes it took worried opposition politicians organizing the protest to walk two blocks from their headquarters to the central square, more than 10,000 citizens materialized, many of them parents with small children in tow.
     The police, who had declared the rally illegal, used force to prevent erection of a sound system, but the crowd peacefully overwhelmed them and speakers were set up.

KLASH BETWEEN DEMONSTRATORS IN LESKOVAC AND LOCAL POLICE

     In Leskovac on July 6, demonstrators broke windows and knocked down the fence around the home of the head of the local Jablanicka district, Zivojin Stefanovic. During demonstrations in the city on July 5, protesters had demanded Stefanovic's resignation.
     Earlier during the day at least 2,000 protesters clashed with police when they tried to make their way to the city's police station to seek the release Ivan Novakovic, a tape technician at the local TV station who was sentenced to 30 days in prison for organizing the rally on the previous day.
     Following a brief scuffle with police, the demonstrators retreated and tried to reach the building housing the Leskovac municipality and the seat of the Jablanicki district by another route. The police attempted to overtake the demonstrators and a real race ensued between police and demonstrators.

STATUE OF EMPEROR STEFAN DUSAN THE POWEFUL DESTROYED

     Last night in Prizren round about midnight a loud detonation was heard when the monument to Serbian Emperor Dusan the powerful was destroyed. The detonation caused the windows on the St. Djordje Church to break.

LANDING SHIPS TO SAIL OUT TOWARD BALKANS.

MOSCOW, July 7 (Itar-Tass)

     Landing ships with the Russian peacekeeping contingent heading for the Balkans are to sail out on July 10-July 11, chief of the press center of the navy, Captain Second Class Igor Dygalo told Tass on Wednesday. He said the Russian navy's commander Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov will inspect the group and give it instructions before the ships' sailing out. Kuroyedov accompanied by a group of admirals and officers of the general staff flew toward the Black Sea Fleet on Wednesday.
     Some 500 paratroopers will sail out by the first run on board four large landing ships, which will also carry 150 units of combat equipment. It will take about two weeks for the embarkation of the landing force and preparation for the run and then the ships will put to sea.

BRITAIN PULLS OUT PART OF ITS TROOPS FROM KOSOVO.

LONDON, July 7 1999 (Itar-Tass)

     Britain began on Wednesday a planned withdrawal of part of its troops from the territory of Kosovo, British Defense Secretary George Robertson reports.
     According to the existing plans, 700 British servicemen are to leave Kosovo in July. Motorized units, helicopter squadrons and missile-launching installations will be withdrawn together with them. According to Robertson, those units served as advance guard during the arrival of the international troops in Kosovo. They will not be needed any more within the KFOR framework.

TREPCA MINES STARTED PRODUCTION

     UN civilian missions spokesman, Mr.Kevin Kennedy, said that power plant Kosovo A and B in Obilic had started production. Few hundreds of Serb and Albanian workers are back on job, but new, illegal Albanian management in some institutions and companies are refusing to admit Serbs back on job.

HOSPITALS MISS SERBS

PRISTINA, July 7 1999 (I-net)

     One Albanian doctor (M.U.) said that at least three patients die per day in Pristina's Medical center surgery due to lack of knowledge of local medical staff. Doctor claims that most of Albanians, with the exception of KLA members, are looking for remaining Serb doctor's aid.
