Kosovo & Metohia Events

Priest Aleksandar Naspalic has reported from Prizren that this day has been relatively uneventful in the town, namely the citizens have not called or complained. However, ten days ago, two married couples were killed: Cucurevic Milorad and Danica, and Markovic Stojadin and Rada. KFOR soldier buried the killed people in the Serbian part of Prizren graveyard. Approximately at the same time, Dragan Surdic (aged around 40) disappeared.

Yesterday, the Albanians occupied four Serbian houses in Gnjilane - the houses belonging to Milan Milic, Branko Bogdanovic, Rade Markovic and Srbislav Petkovic. These houses had previously been broken into and plundered. Two of the houses were moved in yesterday, and the other two are being prepared for moving in. Yesterday, in the same town, the Albanians broke into Borivoj Aleksic's house, which is situated in the vicinity of the bus station.

Milorad Mitrovic from Milosevo village was killed on the road Pristina - Podujevo the day before yesterday.

Kosovo refugees protest in Kraljevo

About 200 refugees from Kosovo spent the night in the city park after refusing to move into the new residents. They said that these buildings have no water, electricity, not even doors and windows. They spent this summer in schools in various villages around Kraljevo, but since the school year begins tomorrow, they had to evict and move to new buildings. The Serbian Commission for Refugees said that these buildings will be adapted to accommodate these people, but they said that they will move in after this is done, and not before. UNHCR said that these buildings couldn't be adapted in time because local authorities refused to give permission for that. Minister of education said that an agreement was made for these people to evict by August 20th. He also said on a press conference that the children refuge from Kosovo can attend schools only on Kosovo territory and only when these schools are booked they can attend schools in other parts of Serbia.
