Serbs still under attacks

Ethnic Albanians tried to set on fire an orthodox church in Vucitrn yesterday, but KFOR troopers prevented them so the church suffered only minor damage, reports Pravoslavlje press, news service of the Serbian Orthodox Church. According to the same source, orthodox priest Milorad Cvetkovic from Pristina was attacked yesterday by ethnic Albanians who tried to take his car and seize him, but he managed to escape them.
Church-People's Council in Gnjilane reports that there were altogether nine attacks on houses and flats of Serbs and that they're forced to leave the area. Same source reports that Russian KFOR patrol found a body of an unidentified Serb near Kosovska Kamenica.
Fifty more Serbs from Prizren church seminary left for Serbia. There are only 150 Serbs from all those that looked for sanctuary there. According to KFOR data, there are 150 Serbs in Prizren area called Ortokoli and 30 more in the old part, Podkaljaji and the vicinity. KFOR poster marks every Serbian house but the attendants can not leave because they depend on KFOR for protection. Food is provided through Serbian Orthodox Church constantly distributing packages, but the International Red Cross and humanitarian organizations of the Catholic Church organize part of the help. In the meantime, there are 170 Serbs left in the nearby village cut off from the world, with no food and on the edge of survival, reports Pravoslavlje Press.
In the meantime, Veton Suroi, editor of the Pristina daily in Albanian "Koha ditore", said that "organized systematic intimidation of the Serbian population is fascistic and that it isn't just an emotional reaction."

Kosovo & Metohia Events

Father Radivoje Zivkovic, the priest of Gnjilane parish, has informed us through amateur radio operators that many Serbs suffered great afflictions due to the Albanian mortar shell attacks on the villages in the region of Gnjilane. Milorad Mladenovic and Dragan Simic from the Donja Budriga village, and Dusica Zivkovic and Predrag Jovanovic from Partesa village, were seriously hurt in their front yards, in front of their house doors. Slavisa Stojkovic, his four-year old son Stefan and Zoran Stankovic from Partesa village, Natalija Simic and her son (whose name is still unknown) from Donja Budriga village, Branislav Petrovic and his daughter Zorica from Glogovce hamlet within Ranilug village, suffered minor injuries. Seriously injured Milorad Mladenovic was urgently transported into KFOR hospital, while the other injured people refused medical aid as a gesture of protest since the peacekeeping forces did not undertake adequate measures to protect them from the attack of the Albanian terrorists.

Father Ilija Smigic, the priest of Prizren parish, has informed us from Prizren that the persecutions and molestings of the Serbs who stayed in their houses are still happening. The Albanians pound their doors, cast stones at their windows, threaten to kill them, and force them to leave their homes. Two Serbian houses have been burned today, and tonight, during this conversation, father Ilija has said that he is looking at another two Serbian houses burning. Every day a Serb seeks refuge in the Prizren Seminary.
