Kosovo&Metohia Events

Serbian houses were again burning in Prizren today. In the part of town below Kaljaja and in Pantelija part of town, most of the streets are without a single whole Serbian house.

Due to constant pressures, intimidation and killing sixteen Serbs from village Drajcici left the village today, as they had planned previously. Ten of them went to Macedonia. The following people left Drajcici village: Djordjevic Uros, Stana, Milovan, Stanislava, Violeta, Dejana; Jankovic Jagoda, Dobrivoje and Ranko; Stanojevic Ranko; Ugrinovic Borko and Vukasin; Ristic Vladimir; Spasic Goran and Stanislava, and Simic Radmila. Priest Ilija Smigic, who talked with Drajcici villagers, said that the village lacked everything, and especially food. The feeling of insecurity grew stronger after Cvetko Simic, a Serb who provided food for all the villagers, had been killed. The situation in Musnik and Divinjane villages is also extremely difficult.

Two families from Bogosevci village near Prizren moved to Prizren Seminary. Those are: Blagojevic Dusko, Slobodanka Radic, Ivana, Roksanda, Dragana, Aleksandar and Dragan; Vidosavljevic Gordana, Rajko, Stanojka, Sevda, Dragomir, Slovinka and Milivoje, and Domazetovic Stojislavka.

The day before yesterday, KFOR soldiers in Ljubizda village found the corpse of Bogdanovic Krunislav, who had been killed in his garden more than a month ago. From the Prizren Seminary, where he took refuge, he naively went to the village to visit his house. All Serbian houses in Ljubizda village have been destroyed.

According to the report of the Church-National Board in Gnjilane, many families left their houses due to the Albanian terror. One of those families is a four-man family of Slobodan Jeftic; they hid in Bujanovac, since KFOR soldiers did not protect them well enough. Slobodan, the head of the family, was beaten by the Albanians, who molested other family members too, and plundered their possessings. They threatened to kill Slobodan's underage sons Dejan and Dalibor. The day before yesterday Vladimir Tunjakovic's house, that is in the vicinity of Slobodan's house, was set on fire, and on the previous day Momcilo Petrovic's store was burned. Vladimir Vasic's house was stoned.

According to amateur radio operators who conveyed the statement of the Church-National Board, KLA command for Gnjilane, while preparing location for the common grave of KLA killed soldiers, demolished and utterly destroyed a neglected Serbian graveyard at the hill of Popovic near Gnjilane, where the Serbs used to bury their dead during the Turkish rule. Thus, even the Serbs who died a long time ago were expelled from their graves, and in those places the corpses of KLA soldiers (brought from different places) were buried.

Acts of violence against the Serbs were executed in other parts of Kosovo and Metohia as well. Two men were murdered in Pristina.
