BY
THE SERBIAN POLICE AND OTHER AUTHORITIES IN KOSOVA
FROM APRIL 5 UNTIL APRIL 12 1998
On April 6, the dead bodies of 6 Albanians were
found in the vicinity of Rahovec. The
following were killed: Ibrahim Zogaj (1940),
forester from the village of Rixheva and his 2
sons Fadil and Ramadan Zogaj; Bajram Avdyl Berisha
and his brother Salih Berisha
(1948), from the village of Zabërgja near
Klina, owner of the "Naseri" gas station in the
village of Stapanica near Kijeva as well as that
of Brahim Selim Salihaj (1950). The
perpetrators of these killings are unknown. Serbian
media qualified the killed as "loyal to
the Serbian regime" and as "victims of Albanians
terrorists". An eye witness from the
village of Drenoc, stated to the sub-council
in Rahovec that he had seen a group of some
20 or 30 persons in the vicinity of the place
where the corpses were found. Police did not
allow access to the associates of the sub-council.
The bodies of the deceased were
loaded on a truck and sent to the city morgue
in Prizren. Dr. Sabaudin Cena, a member of
the presidency of the LDK branch in Prizren,
went to the see the place where these events
occurred. He was taken for informative talks
and was ordered to report again.
THE EVENTS IN DRENICA AND ITS SURROUNDINGS
APRIL 6:
SKëNDERAJ: The situation in Skënderaj
as well as that in the other villages of this district
continues to be very grave and is showing no
signs of improvement.
A police convoy of 26 vehicles was divided in
2. Half was stationed in the vicinity of the
ammunition factory. The others were stationed
in the object in which the Serbian refugees
from Bosnia and Krajina are settled.
A large number of policemen climbed the hill
dividing Skënderaj and the village of Llausha.
A police convoy left Skënderaj and headed
for Mitrovica.
The above mentioned shows that the police forces
are not being withdrawn.
2 trucks full of mattresses left Skënderaj
and headed in an unknown direction.
From 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. the village of Kopiliq
was shelled. 2 villagers were wounded. The
houses of Ilaz Aliu, Abdyl, Sali and Osman Shala,
Qerim Dani, Riza Bajrami, Islam and
Hadush Dibrani as well as that of Rexhep Hasani
(wounded) were destroyed. The houses
of Rexhep Havolli, Halil Sejdiu and Halil Morina
were damaged. Zeliha Shala (16) was
wounded. Electric lines were damaged and a large
area of forests was burned.
The random shooting from different check-points
represents a permanent danger.
From a hill in the vicinity of Llausha a house
in the village of Klina e Poshtme near
Skënderaj was shelled. 14 persons living
in this house had to be evacuated. The
educational process had to be stopped due to
the fact that the lives of pupils and teachers
were endangered by random shooting.
In different check-points police is ill-treating
all passers-by.
At the check-point in Shipol police physically
ill-treated Enver Q. Bajraktari and Muhamet
Haxhiu from Klina e Epërme.
MITROVICA: A large police convoy from Mitrovica
accompanied by an armoured car
headed for Skënderaj. It is supposed that
some 800 policemen were sent to Skënderaj.
In the villages of Lushta and Broboniq many policemen
were stationed. In Lushta shooting
from fire weapons can be heard.
APRIL 7:
GLLOGOC: A police convoy from Prishtina accompanied
by an armoured car headed for
Skënderaj. The policemen sang "chetnik"
songs.
In Gllogoc and Komoran shooting has become a
regular occurrence. The number of
policemen is growing. Apart from the check-point
in Komoran policemen are stationed in 6
nearby locations.
In the village of Llapushnik police shot bullets
in the direction of Shaban Shala, vice
chairman of the CDHRF.
In Komoran police raided the houses of Haradin
Canolli and Ismail Neziri. Fuel was looted
from the two.
APRIL 8:
SKëNDERAJ: At 11 a.m. shooting from all kinds
of weapons was heard. The villages of
Kopiliq i Poshtëm, Vojnikë, Turiqec
and Llaushë were shelled.
The gravest situation was in the village of Kopiliq
i Poshtëm where several houses were
hit. The house of Fazli Haxhiu burned to the
ground. Fortunately, the members of this
family had previously left the house.
In the village of Turiqec, the Hoti quarter was
badly damaged. The houses of Sejdi and
Nazif Halimi, Beqir Idrizi, Islam Ramadani, Bislim
Hoti, Halim Halimi and Ibish Rushiti were
hit. The house of Ibish Rushiti had previously
been looted by the police.
From 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. the villages of Kopiliq
and Broja were shelled by heavy artillery.
Many houses were seen burning.
Police re-enforcement were brought to many check-points.
In Skënderaj, the quarters in the vicinity
of the police station are almost deserted.
GLLOGOC: Loud detonations coming from the villages
of Llausha, Kopiliq, Açareva and
Marina were heard.
APRIL 10:
SKëNDERAJ: At the check-point in Tërnafc
2 armoured cars and some 200 policemen
were stationed.
The village of Kopiliq i Poshtëm is shelled
day after day. The village is deserted apart of
some older people who have stayed there to look
after the cattle. From the house of
Xhemë Murtez Shala, Nurie Shala (70) and
her son Ahmet (40)-both paralysed could not
be evacuated.
In Gllogoc, Ahmet Mustafa (45) from Abria e Poshtme
was arrested. He was taken to
Prishtina and was physically ill-treated. A sack
was put on his head. On being released
police shot bullets in his direction. Due to
injuries suffered his health condition is very
grave.
APRIL 11:
SKëNDERAJ: The situation in Skënderaj
continues to be very grave. Serbian police forces
are not withdrawing from the region.
In the vicinity of Polac 5 tanks were stationed.
The villages of Turiqec and Kopiliq were shelled.
The deserted "Kastrati" quarter was looted by
the police.
The area surrounding the check-point in Klina
e Epërme was mined. A Serbian flag was
raised in order to provoke Albanians.
THE EVENTS IN THE DISTRICT OF DEÇAN
APRIL 6:
DEÇAN: The situation continues to be very
grave. In the village of Gllogjan people have
started to return to their homes. More than half
of the houses have become un-inhabitable.
The educational process in the "Hasan Prishtina"
Primary School has not commenced.
Serbian police was stationed along roads leading
to the municipality center. Cars and
passers-by are stopped. Armed Serbian civilians
are ill-treating Albanians.
Many Albanians were ill-treated by the police
in the center of Deçan.
APRIL 10:
DEÇAN: The situation continues to be very
tensed and is showing no signs of
improvement. Electricity was disconnected to
the entire region.
At 9 p.m. lighting rockets were fired from the
police station in Irzniq. This caused panic in
the "Dodaj" quarter in the vicinity of this station.
A bus full of policemen was sent to the police
station in Deçan.
Many citizens gathered for protest walks in the
center of Deçan. A large number of
policemen were in a state of alert.
In the outskirts of the town police stopped,
checked the identities of many passengers and
physically ill-treated Fehmi Mataj from the village
of Pobergja and Shaqë Haklaj from Isniq.
The phone lines of the sub-council in Deçan
were disconnected. Once the lines were
brought in order our associates received many
threats and were insulted. Lots of pressure
is being put to the sub-council in Deçan
to prevent them from continuing with their work.
INFORMATION ON THE PEACEFUL PROTESTS
APRIL 9:
PRISHTINA: Serbian police forces prevented many
Albanians from coming to Prishtina in
order to participate in the peaceful protests.
Over 100.000 Albanians participated in the protests
under the motto "Give peace a
chance". Police prevented those present from
protesting in the center of the city.
Police did not intervene during the protests.
Yet, many Albanian citizens were ill-treated
after them. Selami Arif Behluli (1976), a student
from Randobrava, was stopped by the
police. He was physically ill-treated. DM 120
were looted from him. Skender Hykolli, Xhavit
Qiriqi and Xhavit Gashi from Sllatina e Madhe,
were stopped, provoked and physically ill-
treated. DM 100 were looted from the first, DM
50 from the second and DM 20 from the
third. Valdet Gashi (17) and Agim Orllati (17),
a pupil of the "Sami Frashëri" Secondary
School, Maliq and Faruk Gashi from the village
of Mramor as well as Artan Mjekiqi (18)
were physically ill-treated. The latter suffered
many injuries. A police patrol in the
"Jabllanica" str. drove through the mass of people
and provoked them. Naim Ukaj (1978),
Sami Ukaj (1975), Ilir Hoxhaj (1975) and Safet
Osmani (1974) from Prizren, were stopped
by 15 policemen, physically ill-treated, insulted,
forced to swallow some placards and
threatened with liquidation. Bedri S. Demiri
(35) from Podujeva and Rizah Krasniqi (1955)
from Gjilan, a teacher with the "Rexhep Elmazi"
Primary School, were physically ill-treated.
FERIZAJ: Nebih Xhema from Ferizaj as well as
many other Albanian citizens were
stopped in the outskirts of Prishtina and prevented
from participating in the protests.
VITI: Sabri Nazifi from the village of Tërpeza
was physically ill-treated in the outskirts of
Vitia. Many army vehicles paraded through the
town shooting from automatic weapons.
LIPJAN: Ali and Mehmetali Gashi, members of the
presidency of the LDK branch in Sllovia
were taken for informative talks to the local
police station in Lipjan. They were interrogated
on the organization of protests.
APRIL 10:
PRISHTINA: Valmira Qitaku (1982), "Bregu i Diellit"
quarter L/III no.4 and Jehona Pacolli
(1982), "Luboteni" str. 12, pupils, were beaten-up
by the police. Due to injuries suffered
Valmira had to seek for medical help. Latif Beqiri
(1942) was severely ill-treated by the
police. He was injured on his head, chest and
ribs.
MITROVICA: Januz Tahir Mehmeti (39) and Brahim
Ajet Mehmeti (35), residents of the
"Tavnik" quarter as well as Besim Syqeri Musliu
(27) and Qamil Haki Kurteshi (23) from
the village of Vinarc i Poshtëm were physically
ill-treated by the police.
Police at the check-point in Shipol stopped buses
and checked the identities of those
traveling. Halit R. Barani (47), chairman of
the sub-council in Mitrovica was taken by the
police and was interrogated.
KAÇANIK: Many Albanian citizens were ill-treated
on their return from the protest walks.
Xhemajl Braha (1966) from Stagova was taken to
the police station and was physically ill-
treated under the pretext of having insulted
the policemen.
FERIZAJ: Police stopped and checked the identities
of many Albanian drivers. Personal
data was taken from Feriz and Nezir Hyseni.
KAMENICA: Police blocked the roads leading to
town. Many protestors were prevented
from gathering in the center.
VITI: During the peaceful protests in Vitia,
Ramadan Ramadani, khoja of the mosque in
the village of Drobesh, was stopped and taken
to the police station. He was interrogated
and insulted.
Sabri Ajvazi (1975), Mysyr Bilalli (1981), Bekim
Hajdari (1974) and Lulzim Neziri (1979)
were arrested by the police, taken to the police
station and physically ill-treated. They were
released but ordered not to participate in other
protests.
GJILAN: Sherif Byqmeti (1950), a farmer from
the village of Ponesh was attacked by 3
Serbian civilians. He was insulted and physically
ill-treated. Due to injuries suffered he had
to ask for medical help.
Blerim Halimi (1978) from Livoç i Epërm
was arrested and physically ill-treated. He was
accused of organizing the protests.
Musa Zymberi (1939), a farmer living in "Prishtina"
str. 3/20 was stopped by the police.
LIPJAN: Police forced Albanian protestors out
of the main street. Shyqeri Hyseni from
Rufci i Ri was physically attacked.
APRIL 11:
GJILAN: Serbian police prevented the protest walks
in the city promenade.
MITROVICA: Many Albanian citizens were prevented
from participating in the protest
walks. Several were ill-treated.
SUHAREKA: In order to prevent people from participating
in the protest walks police sent
many vehicles for technical checks.
KAÇANIK: Zekiria Shabi Burrniku (1978),
Avdyl Rexhep Burrniku (1979) and Nusret Hebib
Rexha (1977) from the "Lagja e Re" quarter were
stopped and sent to the local police
station. They were physically ill-treated. A
gun was put on the head of the latter. He was
threatened with liquidation. Due to injuries
suffered he had to ask for medical help.
Draft summons were delivered to 35 Albanian youngsters.
APRIL 12:
FERIZAJ: Police prevented the protest walks in the city promenade.
OTHER INFORMATION:
APRIL 5:
MITROVICA: Unidentified persons attacked the house
of Agim Xhemajl Kabashi (38),
living in "Kroi i Vitakut" quarter. His Serbian
neighbours are organizing groups to cause
insecurity among the Albanians.
APRIL 6:
PODUJEVA: Large police forces arrived from different
towns in Serbia. At 10 a.m. more
than a hundred policemen arrived accompanied
by 12 armoured cars. Half an hour later 4
buses full of policemen arrived. Many police
vehicles carrying anti-aircraft guns were seen.
These forces headed for Prishtina.
Large scale police movements were seen in the
direction of the villages of Lluzhan,
Kërpimeh, Llapashticë, Orllan and Dumnicë.
In the village of Popova large areas of forests
were burned. Lots of damage was done in
Hertica too.
The Serbian compulsive authorities of the "Javor"
enterprise in Podujeva dismissed the
following Albanian workers: Sabri Salihu, a driver
and Xheladin Emini from Pakashtica;
Nazmi Zhegrova, a forester and Zymer Zhegrova
from Hertica; Nazmi Halili and Rrustem
Hamiti, drivers from Dumnica; Enver Halili from
Lladrovc and Jakup Krasniqi from Majanc,
mechanics; Sylejman Musliu from Zakut, Ismet
Kika from Lupç, Jahir Avdiu from Zhitija,
Shefki Rexhepi from Shtedima, Sabit Imeri, physical
laborers; Fadil Ademi from Pollata,
Bajram Podvorica from Podujeva, Tahir Osmani,
a driver from Ballovc and Eset Qerimi
from Llausha.
Police searched for weapons at the houses of
Mustafë Rexhepi and Hasim Isuf Shabani in
the village of Metohija. Shefqet Asllani was
left an order to report to the police station in
Kërpimeh.
GJILAN: Rexhep Dauti (1971), a student from Haxhaj,
an activist of the Youth Forum of
the LDK was taken for informative talks to the
local police station and was ordered to
report again on April 20.
Fatmir Lipovica, an asylumseeker repatriated
from Germany was sent to serve his prison
term in the prison of Dubrava.
GJAKOVA: Some 20 policemen were stationed in
the vicinity of the "Emin Duraku" textile
factory. Many vehicles were stopped and prevented
from going to Peja. In the military
barracks in the center of the town maneuvers
are held.
KLINA: Brahim K. Berisha (19), a student of electro-technics
from Klina, was stopped by
the police and sent to the Security Center in
Prishtina. He was kept there for 6 hours,
interrogated and severely ill-treated. Due to
injuries suffered he had to seek for medical
help.
LIPJAN: A military unit stationed in "Kërçeva"
near Ribar i Madh provoked locals.
MALISHEVA: Alban Mazreku from Malisheva was stopped
by the Serbian police. He was
thoroughly checked and physically ill-treated
in the presence of his mother and
grandmother. He was looted DM 100.
APRIL 7:
PODUJEVA: Police intervened in the "Bardhi" cafe
in Podujeva. The identities of those
present were checked. Arben Havolli (1978) from
Llapashtica e Epërme was arrested. He
was physically ill-treated for weapons and ordered
to report again on April 13. Under the
same pretext Sami Plakolli from Podujeva was
physically ill-treated.
PRISHTINA: Islam Bajrami, a member of the chairmanship
of the LDK branch in Prizren
was stopped by the police. On checking his identity
he was ordered to take his car for a
technical check. Idriz Maloku (1956), living
in "Drenica I" 90 was summoned for weapons
and was threatened by two policemen named Sllavko
and Boshko.
FERIZAJ: 9 trucks with 50 soldiers stopped in
front of the "Muharrem Shemsedini" Primary
School in Fshati i Vjetër and were stationed
in front of the houses of Osman Hyseni and
Adem Hyseni. They entered the "Bibaj" depot of
raw materials. After half an hour, they left
for Ferizaj. Meanwhile, about 500 m from these
houses, some policemen were stationed in
the woods near the houses of the Leskovcaj family.
In the "Bajram Curri" quarter of the village
of Gaçka police raided in search for weapons
the house of Shyqeri Bajrami. His son Bekim (23)
was left a summon to report to the
Security Center in Ferizaj. He was physically
ill-treated and ordered to report again.
GLLOGOC: On the cross-road in Orllat police thoroughly
checked a group of teachers of
the "Asim Vokshi" Primary School in Panorc. Money
was looted from the driver.
ZHUR: In the list of names of the 178 Albanians
"loyal" to the Serbian regime, which was
sent to international organizations, is that
of Ethem Hoxha from the village of Zhur. Ethem
had died 4 years ago.
APRIL 8:
PRIZREN: Mitër Zef Berisha, chairman and
Frrok Mesulaj, activist of the LDK in the village
of Grazhdanik were arrested, kept in the local
police station, severely ill-treated and sent to
the court for petty offences in Prizren. Mitër
was sentenced to a prison term of 25 days.
Frrok to 15. The two were sentenced due to the
fact that they collected aid for the people
in Drenica.
Jakup Duraku was stopped in the village of Dushanova
and was physically ill-treated.
PODUJEVA: Police raided in search for weapons
the houses of Faik, Tefik and Nexhip
Babatinca and Hasan Gubetini. The latter was
arrested, psychologically ill-treated and
ordered to report again with his son and brother
on April 13.
MALISHEVA: A helicopter flew rather low and took
photos of the Mirusha waterfalls.
KAÇANIK: Isa Vishi (1954), a mechanic
from Dubrava was arrested for weapons, kept for
5 hours at the local police station and ordered
to report again with his brothers Ramadan
and Bekim, brother-in-law Mustafa and his nephew
Nexhmedin Elezi on April 9.
PRISHTINA: Large police forces have been noticed
in the outskirts of Prishtina and in the
villages of Bërnica e Poshtme, Lebane, etc.
VITI: A police squad arrested and physically
ill-treated Isja Zeka (1976) from Begunca.
FERIZAJ: Ismajl Mehmeti from Bibaj, an LDK activist,
was taken for informative talks at
the Security Center in Ferizaj.
GJILAN: Enver Bllaca (1950) from Cërrnica,
an LDK activist, was taken for informative
talks.
APRIL 9:
KAÇANIK: On April 8 and 9, in the villages
of Nika and Teka large areas of forests were
burning.
PRIZREN: 15 policemen raided in search for weapons
the Osmankaj and Memçaj families
in the village of Lugishta e Hasit. Rushit and
Kapetan Osmankaj were physically ill-treated.
Nezir Mustafë Osmankaj and Hasan, Muhamet
and Xhavit Memçaj were arrested.
Aziz Likaj (1962) was arrested for weapons in
the village of Krajka near Has.
Unidentified Serbian speaking persons left a
warning letter to Bedri Kastrati in Dushanova,
an activist with the District Financial Council
in Prizren. According to the letter police have
information that he and his brother Hamit possess
weapons and that they should leave the
place.
FERIZAJ: Hasan Abazi, a member of the chairmanship
of the LDK branch, was
summoned for informative talks at the Security
Center in Ferizaj.
GJILAN: Many vehicles full of heavily armed policemen
headed for Prishtina.
Venhar Hiziri (1967), a professor with the "Zenel
Hajdini" Secondary School in Gjilan and
Elez Muji (1945), a primary school teacher in
the village of Bresalc, were taken for
informative talks at the Security Center in Gjilan.
VUSHTRRI: On the way from Mitrovica to Stantërg,
police stopped, checked the identities
of and took to the police station in Mitrovica
the following: Ibush Jonuzi, vice-chairman of
the LDK branch in Vushtrria; Shemsi Rrahimi,
a professor with Medressah and chairman
of the Assembly of the Islamic Community in Kosova;
Basri Zekolli, imam with the Islamic
Community in Vushtrria. On being interrogated
for more than 2 hours, they were released.
Ibush was physically ill-treated. The above mentioned
were going for an official visit to the
village of Bare.
RAHOVEC: Kujtim Shyqeri Hamza (1976), Enver Eminazeri
and Enver Korenica were
stopped by the police. Kujtim was physically
ill-treated. Due to injuries suffered he had to
ask for medical help.
PRISHTINA: Serbian soldiers are digging trenches
in the vicinity of the villages of Unitet
and Milefc. Military vehicles paraded through
the Dragusha quarter and the villages of
Nëntë Jugoviq and Bërnica e Poshtme.
Soldiers provoked passers-by.
In Nëntë Jugoviq police prevented passengers
from going to Prishtina and joining the
peaceful protestors.
Feride Mulliqi (1937), a pensioner, and Saide
Kelmendi with her family, were evicted from
the flat in "Beogradi" str. 52/1. They inherited
this flat from their late sister Egjlane Gashi, a
former employee with the Provincial Secretariat
for Education and Culture. The flat was
delivered to her in 1986. She bought it in 1994.
APRIL 10:
GJILAN: An army convoy comprised of many trucks
carrying cannons paraded through
the "Ramiz Sadiku" quarter. Soldiers shot bullets
in the air. Serbian forces are holding
maneuvers in the vicinity of Veleknica and Malisheva.
Bejtush Isufi, chairman of the LDK branch in
Gjilan, was stopped by the police in Kishnica
and was prevented from going to a meeting in
Prishtina.
PRIZREN: Police raided in search for weapons
the house of Halit Shehu in Dushanova.
They searched for his son Alush Shehu, a student
of the Law Faculty in Prishtina. As he
was not there, police took his brother Driton
(1978) as a hostage.
Osman Hoxha, driver and Kadri Thaçi, co-driver
in the bus traveling from Prizren to
Lugishta near Has, were taken for informative
talks and were physically ill-treated. The two
were interrogated for weapons.
GLLOGOC: Shaban Neziri (1949), an accountant
from Krajkova and activist of the sub-
CDHRF in Gllogoc; Hafir Shala (1960), a physician
from Krajkova, chairman of the
Association of Former Political Prisoners and
member of the chairmanship of the LDK
branch in Gllogoc and Hetem Sinani, a medical
technician and activist of the "Mother
Theresa" Charitable ë Humanitarian Association
in Gllogoc, were arrested in Sllatina and
sent to the police station in Prishtina. They
were interrogated on the political activity of
Jakup Krasniqi, Shaban Shala, etc. Hafir is still
in detention.
APRIL 11:
MITROVICA: Ramadan Hysen Istrefi (49) from Bajgora,
living in "Kroi i Vitakut" quarter,
chairman of the District Financial Council and
activist of the LDK, was arrested, sent to the
police station and interrogated for more than
two hours. He was threatened and ill-treated.
Besnik Fadil Preteni (19), a pupil of the "Xheladin
Deda" Medical School in Mitrovica, was
attacked by a group of 12 Serbian youngsters.
Due to injuries suffered he had to ask for
medical help.
Police raided the house of Salih Beqir Beqiri
(58) in the "Tavnik" quarter, confiscated an
amount of cigarettes, arrested Salih and his
son Abedin (17). They searched for his other
son Nexhmedin (16). His sons sell cigarettes
to support their family.
PRIZREN: Alush Shehu (1974), a Law student, living
in the village of Dushanova, "Hasan
Prishtina" str. 42, was arrested for weapons
in Gjonaj. Beqir Hoxha, unemployed, "Ulqini"
str. 96, was arrested for weapons.
DELAYED INFORMATION:
PRISHTINA: On March 4, Mursel Kosumi (1968), a
building contractor living in "Prizreni"
str. 40, was stopped by the police and was physically
ill-treated due to collecting and
sending aid in food and medicine to the village
of Dubovc in Drenica. He was ordered to
report to the police for six days in a row. He
was ill-treated and threatened with liquidation.
On March 19-26, Abdurrahman Kadrolli (1967),
an accountant living in "Bistrica" str. 4,
was summoned to the police. On March 17 he was
repatriated from Switzerland. His
passport was seized at the airport in Belgrade.
He was physically ill-treated and ordered to
report again on April 14.
In the "Kodra e Trimave" quarter weapons were
sought from the following: Fazli Demiri,
Zijadin Kadri Kalaja, Milaim Demiri, Mehmet Beka,
Rrahim Gashi, Rrustem Hasimi, Imer
Ilazi, Musli Demiri, Beqir Beqiri, Hetem Llumnica,
Bahtir Sekiraça, Nuhi and Selman

OBILIQ: On March 18-23, Remzi Haziri (1954) from
Raskova was summoned to the local
police station in Obiliq and was interrogated.
KLINA: On March 24, Sadik Kallamuka (1940) was
dismissed from work.
On March 27, Zenun B. Rraci (1954), an economist
from Siçeva, was arrested at the
check-point in Pogragja. He was sent to the Security
Center in Prishtina and was kept
there for a day.
On April 3, Sasha Voshtiq physically attacked
and threatened with a gun his neighbours
Bardhec Simonaj, Albert P. Culaj (1981) and Marjan
Simonaj.
On April 3, police seized two "Ascona" cars in
the ownership of Rizah Kadriu and Sylë H.
Kadriu both from Açareva near Skënderaj,
living in Klina, "Tikveshi" str. 21, 22, temporarily
employed in Austria. Police threatened and provoked
Syla's wife Hajrie Kadriu and Rizah's
son Arben Kadriu.
KAMENICA: On March 29, Fatmir T. Basha (1962)
from the village of Hodonoc was
summoned to the police station in Gjilan. Police
inspector Sërgjan Gjorgjeviq interrogated
him on the number of asylum-seekers and his contacts
with them.
On April 3, Ruzhdi Morina (1953) from the village
of Hodonoc was stopped in Kamenica.
He was sent to the police station, insulted and
physically ill-treated.
PODUJEVA: On April 1, police searched for Mexhit
Hasani. He was left an order to report
to the police.
On April 2, police raided the house of Salih
Sejdiu from Repa. He was left an order to
report to the police.
On April 3, large police forces checked passers-by.
Market inspectors fined many
Albanians due to the fact that they closed their
shops during the protests. If the fines of
800-1200 dinars are not paid the shops will be
closed down.
GLLOGOC: On April 2, Arben Janova (1980), a secondary
school pupil, was stopped at
the check-point in Komoran. He was physically
ill-treated and suffered many injuries.
FERIZAJ: On April 2, Ahmet Tahiri from Balaj
was summoned for weapons to the police
station in Nerodime and was severely ill-treated.
GJILAN: On April 3, Ilmi Miftari from the village
of Vrapçiq was arrested for weapons. He
was physically ill-treated at the police station
in Gjilan. Shaqir Bislimi (1954) from the village
of Dobërçan was summoned for informative
talks at the Security Center in Gjilan. He was
interrogated on the current political situation
in Kosova, particularly in his village and asked
about certain masked persons moving through the
village. Police inspector Zhivojin Deniq
told him to co-operate with the police.
KAÇANIK: On March 3, Ramadan Hasan Sopa
(1929), a farmer living in "2 Korriku" str.
was arrested for weapons. He was physically ill-treated
and suffered many injuries on his
head and back. He and his 2 sons, Ismajl (1953),
an employee with the "Skenderbeu"
Secondary School and Musli (1962), were ordered
to report to the police. The next day
they were threatened and insulted. Ismajl and
Musli were physically ill-treated and suffered
many injuries. They were ordered to report again
on April 6.
MALISHEVA: On April 3, in the vicinity of the
villages of Mleçan and Llozica, 3 Serbian
civilians provoked Albanian pupils. One of the
civilians threatened the pupils with a gun.
PRIZREN: On April 4, police in Krajka stopped
the "Bresi Tourist" bus in the ownership of
Mon Fanaj. The policemen thoroughly checked the
luggage of the passengers as well as
their identities. Many villagers of Krajka received
summons for informative talks.
MITROVICA: On April 4, police in the village
of Shupkofc stopped the "Union" bus in the
ownership of Kajtaz Peci. All passengers were
forced out of the bus. Agron Xhabir Peci
(25) from Rahova was severely ill-treated. He
suffered many injuries on his face and had a
tooth broken.
