BY THE SERBIAN POLICE AND
OTHER AUTHORITIES IN KOSOVA
FROM SEPTEMBER 6
UNTIL SEPTEMBER 13, 1998
SEPTEMBER 6:
PRIZREN: Yesterday, the following Albanians were
buried in Jeshkova: Kadishe Berisha (65), burned beyond recognition, Fatime
Shala (60), Myrvete Shala (30), mutilated, Merxhan Shala (70), crushed
by an armoured car, Avdi Shala (80), Agim Shala (23) and Besim Rushen Shala
(34). All were killed during the Serb attack on the villages of Vrrin.
The village of Vrrin was plundered and burned by the Serbian forces. More
than 20 Albanians were heavily wounded.
Drita Morina (1964), Lumturie Morina (1960) and
Hyrije Morina (1961) from the village of Vranjaka near Rahovec were hospitalized
in Prizren. All 3 were wounded by the blasting devices, which were left
in their houses, during the Serb offensive on the villages of Rahovec.
SHTIME: Yesterday, 2 unidentified corpses were
buried in Reçak.
KLINA: In Dollc, police and armed Serb civilians
burned the houses of Martin Mirdita, Jak Frroku, Agron and Ndue Prenaj,
Mark, Gjon and Kolë Bardhi, Ndue Palushi, Pren, Gjergj and Mark Çuni,
Mëhill Tomaj, Xhemë and Hajdin Gllasoviku. In Çabiq, an
old man and 2 old women buried the corpse of Halime Gashi (65). Due to
her illness, she could not flee her house. There are no information on
the whereabouts of Galan Raci, a blind man. He and his wife could not flee
the village of Siçeva. In the village of Rud, Serbian forces separated
men from other civilians. The men were recorded on TV and presented as
"terrorists". Women, children and elderly were forced back to their villages.
They, too, were recorded on TV in order to show the world that the "displaced
Albanians are returning to their homes". The following were arrested by
the police: Bajram Jonuz Berisha from Volljaka, Kadri, Destan and Beqir
Rudi, Ahmet and Sali Zeneli - all from Gremnik, Jahir Agushi from Drenoc,
Bislim and Brahim Gashi from Sverka, Ajet Foniqi from Zajm, Sadik and Hazir
Gashi from Çupeva e Epërme.
PEJA: After the Serb attack on Dukagjin, 2 trucks
full of civilians were noticed heading for the village of Dubrava near
Istog. It is supposed that the above mentioned were captivated during the
police action.
RAHOVEC: During the last 2 days, the following
villages were plundered, burned and destroyed: Bellacerka, Sopnica, Potoçan,
Drenoc, Senoc, Pastasella, Petkoviq, Polluzha, Çiflak, Kramovik,
Dobërdol, Denja, Ratkoc, Malësi e Vogël, Bradotin and Vranjaka.
SKËNDERAJ: In Nedakoc, Ajnishahe Mehmet
Shala (36), an activist of the Sub-CDHRF in Skënderaj and chairman
of the Women's Forum, was taken out of the bus. She was insulted and threatened
with liquidation. 3 university books were seized from her. In the center
of Skënderaj, police arrested Sejdi Zenel Ahmeti (40) from Rezalla,
member of the board of the District Council for Emergency Aid. He was taken
to the police station in Mitrovica.
GJILAN: Fatos Selmani (1972), a worker, living
in "Sava Kovaçeviq" st., was stopped and brutally beaten by the
police.
SEPTEMBER 7:
RAHOVEC: On September 4, the following Albanians
were killed during the offensive of the Serbian forces on the villages
of Rahovec: the son (20) of Sadri Hafizi, his daughter (18), the wife of
Gazmend Lata, their 3 year-old-child, the wife of Fadil Dana and a child
of hers, and the 4 year-old-son of Luan Bytyçi - all from Denja.
A 14 year-old-child was killed in Drenoc. Two 14 year-old children were
killed in Polluzha. Haki Avdi Gashi (67) was killed in Ratkoc. It is supposed
that the number of the killed is much higher. In Denja, 20 members of the
family of Asllan Berisha were wounded due to shelling. Due to the lack
of medical assistance many of the wounded were sheltered in the open. The
wife of Bajram Berisha, was paralyzed due to wounds suffered on her head.
Milazim Morina (36) from Ratkoc was kidnapped by the police. At least 100
Albanians were taken hostage.
PRIZREN: At 8.30 p.m., Arsim Ramadan Poniku (18)
was killed in his house yard in the "Tusus" quarter. Hasret Sylejman Poniku
(36) was captured by the Serbian police. At 9 p.m., he was executed. The
corpses of Fatmir Bojaxhiu (34) and brothers Reshat and Binak Daçaj
(29) were buried in Prizren. All 3 were killed in the "Hoçë
Mahalla" quarter on September 1. During the Serb offensive on the villages
of Vrrin, Fate Shala (70), Xhemil Nezir Krasniqi (47) and Fatmir Berisha
(30) from Prizren were killed in Hoça e Qytetit. More than 10 persons
were wounded and many houses were damaged due to the shelling. The corpse
of an unidentified man aged 50 is lying unburied in Leskovec. In this village,
Serbian forces looted and burned many houses.
Serbian forces paraded through the streets
of Dushanova and threatened the Albanian inhabitants who fled their homes
and were sheltered in Prizren. Serbian police paraded through the streets
of the "Bajram Curri" quarter in Prizren and threatened the inhabitants.
Since June 2, there are no information on the whereabouts of Shaban Ramadan
Shala (1959), a jurist from Prizren, "Subotica" st. 21. In "Zef Lush Marku"
st., Sabidin Ferka (1964) was run over by a police car. A citizen, who
tried to help him, was threatened to "let him die".
SUHAREKA: 2 passers-by buried the corpse of Ramadan
Mazreku in Semetisht. He was killed during the Serb offensive on the villages
of Suhareka. The corpses of at least 6 killed Albanians remain unburied
in Sllapuzhan. More than 80 houses were burned in Suhareka. About 90% of
the houses were burned in the villages of the very same district. There
are no information on the whereabouts of Vesel Ramë Sopa (58) from
Suhareka.
PRISHTINA: The corpse of Valentina Maloku from
Plloçica near Malisheva is in the morgue of the Prishtina Hospital.
She had been wounded and was hospitalized in Prishtina. During her hospitalization,
she was subjected to ill-treatment by the medical staff and the policemen
guarding her. In the "Ulpiana" quarter, 2 policemen broke into the flat
of Xhevat Muharremi, a pensioner. Another person was settled in it.
KLINA: In a valley in the vicinity of Këpuz,
400-500 Albanians, women, children and elderly are surrounded for 5 days
now. Their position is dramatic. Serbian forces plundered and burned the
Albanian houses in Gremnik, Qupeva e Epërme, Qupeva e Poshtme, Çeskova,
Këpuz, Volljaka, Sfërka, Buzhala, Çabiq and Cerovik. Avdulla
Maxhun Krasniqi (45) from Këpuz, Sinan Halilaj from Qupeva e Epërme
and Gjon Prenaj from Cerovik were killed. On being tortured at the premises
of the Security Center in Peja, Ajet Foniqi from Zajm, Brahim Gashi from
Sverka, Sadik and Hazir Gashi from Qupeva e Epërme were set free.
GLLOGOC: Serbian forces opened fire towards Fushtica
e Epërme, Fushtica e Poshtme, Sankoc, Vasileva, Poklek i Vjetër
and Dobrashec. In Çikatova e Vjetër, Serbian forces plundered
and demolished the houses of Hazir Morina, Agim and Mursel Hamit Morina,
Ali Nebih Morina, Isuf Nezir Morina, Hazir and Adem Pajazit Çavdari,
Adem Selman Hoti, Sejdi Sinan Hoti, Seladin Halit Hoti, Sheqer Hoti, Muhamet
Ymer Karaxha and Sali Dervishi. As the displaced people withdrew towards
Gryka e Shalës, Burim Gashi (17) from Llapushnik (Gllogoc) died.
GJAKOVA: Bedri Sefer Gashi (38) from Bratotin
and Sejdi Sopjani (26) from Dobidol (Rahovec), wounded, were taken to the
Gjakova Hospital. Xhelal Idriz Avdullahu from Gjakova and prof. Sali Maliqi
from Dallashaj were arrested. Police surrounded the "Mulla Jusufi" quarter
in Gjakova. The following were among the 15 persons arrested: Shyqeri and
Masar Bicuri, Nysret Trupaj and his brother, Shani Luzha, Nuri Mulliqi
and his son Erenik Mulliqi (11). Bajram Gashi from the village of Osek
Hyla was arrested.
DEÇAN: As the Serbian forces overran the
village of Krelan they plundered and burned the Albanian houses. Serbian
forces stationed in Këpuz (Klina) shelled the village of Jabllanica.
MALISHEVA: Serbian police and military forces
shelled the villages of Ostrozub, Maxhar, Dragobil, Maralia and Gurkoc.
The inhabitants fled and were sheltered in Pagarusha. The situation in
this village is very grave due to the large number of displaced people
and the lack of food, medicine and medical assistance.
MITROVICA: Serbian police and military forces
shelled the villages of Shala e Bajgorës. Ramadan Hajriz Ukaj (28)
from Tërstena was wounded. Excessive damage in property was caused.
A police convoy opened automatic fire, provoked and insulted the Albanian
villagers of Shipol.
In the "Ibri" quarter, 15 policemen raided the
house of Imer Bislim Haziri (30) from Llausha, a student with the Mining
Faculty in Mitrovica. He was arrested and his computer was seized. In Shipol,
3 policemen arrested Gani Ibish Bajrami (46), an activist of the LDK. In
Zasella, police raided the house of Bislim Hamiti. They searched for his
daughter Teuta, who is currently living abroad.
PEJA: 15 Albanian houses were plundered in the
"Dardania" III quarter in Peja and in the village of Raushiq. Fire was
set to them.
ISTOG: The following Albanians were arrested
and brutally beaten by the police: Halil Miftari (82), Ramiz (65), Ahmet
(52) and Mentor Deliaj (17), Gani (44), Naser (27) and Behxhet Hajzeri
(18) and Ragip Kajtazi from Suhogërlla. They were threatened to admit
that they had participated in the attack on the police station in Runik
and in the "massacre" in Kleçka.
LIPJAN: According to Beqir Xhemshiti, since August
2, there are no information on the whereabouts of his brother Lutfi Xhemshiti,
a forester from Bregu i Zi.
KAMENICA: Large police forces surrounded and
raided the house Jahi Zubaku (1944) from Topanica, member of the board
of the LDK branch in Kamenica. Police raided the houses of Ramadan (1959),
Ismet (1961) and Jakup Zubaku (1960) as well as that of Alush Shehu from
Topanica. All were arrested.
GJILAN: In the center of the town, police arrested
Nijazi Ramadani (1964), a teacher and activist with the Union of the Political
Subjects in Gjilan, "Qenar Çeshme" st.64/a.
PODUJEVA: 52 Albanian workers were sent on forced
leave or dismissed from work by the compulsive authorities in the Forest
Economy in Podujeva.
SEPTEMBER 8:
PRIZREN: The villagers of Zaplluzha, found the
dead bodies of Muhamet Shemsedini (1975) and Xhumret Shemsedini (1977)
from Zaplluzha as well as that of Sabri Maliqi from Kuklibeg near Opoja.
All 3 were killed between the villages of Zaplluzha and Lez on September
1. The corpses of the following were found in the vicinity of Lez: Salajdin
Halil Berisha (1953), Hasan Berisha (1955), Asllan Emërllah Berisha
(65) and Izair Mustafë Berisha (65). There is a possibility that other
corpses will be found in the valleys of this village. Since the beginning
of the Serbian offensive on the villages of Vrrin on September 1, 38 corpses
were found. Apart from a house, a turbeh and the local mosque, the village
of Lez was completely destroyed. With the aid of the International Observers,
the following Albanians, who had been wounded by fire weapons, were taken
to the Prizreni Hospital: Meleqe Selim Bytyçi (1961), Nexhmedin
Bytyçi (1935), Isaj Ali Berisha, Manuhije Sefer Berisha (1974),
Ganimete Arif Berisha (1958) and Nadire Sefer Berisha (1983) - all from
Denja near Rahovec. According to information from the Serb media, during
the Serb campaign against the Albanian villagers of Rahoveci and Prizren,
522 Albanians were arrested. 80 Albanians were sent to pre-trial detention.
The Serb Attorney raised charges for "terrorism" against 72 Albanians from
Prizreni, Suhareka and Rahovec. The investigative judge with the Serbian
run District Court in Prizren initiated the investigative proceedings for
"terrorism" against Agron Abdylkader Shehu (1977) from Krusha, Hasan Sali
Berisha (1946) and Nexhmedin Xheladin Berisha (1953) from Lez and Nazmi
Ajni Ramadani (1946) from Zaplluzha. Due to the prevailing situation, the
primary school in Dushanova was closed. The mayor of Prizren ordered that
all the lectures in the primary school in Mushnikova are to be held in
Serbian.
DEÇAN: Since early in the morning, Serbian
police and military forces (88 tanks and armored cars) launched an attack
on the villages of Carrabreg, Prejlep, Irzniq and Beleg. Fetah Mazreku
(55) and his wife Hedije Mazreku were killed in their house in Prejlep.
Their children Lush and Zykë Mazreku were severely wounded. Muhamet
Bajram Shala (35) was killed due to shelling. The following were wounded:
Brahë Beqiraj from Baballoç, Gjokë Ibishi and his son
from Gramaçel, Fehim Rexhep Shala (30), dr. Shyt Sokol Shala (45),
a gynecologist in the local policlinic, and his wife Emine Shala from Prapaçan.
PEJA: Early in the morning, Serbian forces opened
artillery fire towards the villages of Lugu i Baranit. 80.000 people from
the other villages of the Dugagjini Plain and Drenica were sheltered there.
Most of the displaced are in the open.
RAHOVEC: During the recent offensive of the Serbian
police and military forces on the village of Ratkoc, Bedri Gashi (50) from
Bratotin and Safet Hoti from Ratkoc were severely wounded. For many days,
they were left with no medical assistance. On September 4, Serbian snipers
killed Myvedete Morina (4). Her father Vesel Morina was severely wounded.
GJAKOVA: In the forests near Kodralia, the mother
of Halil Haxhi Alia found the corpse of her son. A few days earlier, Halil's
father Haxhi Alia died due to being tortured by the Serbian forces. 12
villagers of Kodralia were detained and sent to the Peja prison. GLLOGOC:
Serbian police and military forces shelled the villages between Klina,
Malisheva, Skënderaj and Gllogoc. Several grenades fell on Vuçak
(Gllogoc) and the surrounding forests. Greta Dejzë Bytyçi (12)
from Orllat was wounded by Serb snipers.
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian police and military forces
shelled Tica and Plluzhina.
LIPJAN: In the village of Magura, Serbian forces
raided, plundered and burned the houses of Shaban and Bafti Dulla. The
offices of the "Mother Theresa" Humanitarian & Charitable Association
are located in these houses. There are no information on the whereabouts
of their father Ali Dulla. Since August 12, 50 Albanians, mainly women,
children and elderly are surrounded in the village of Mirena. Adem Zejnullahu
(60), Bajram Zeneli (70), Salih (90) and Sadri Ahmeti (85) are in a very
bad health condition. Serbian forces burned the hay stacks of Xhevat Rexhepi
(1929), a farmer from Gracka e Epërme.
OBILIQ: In the early hours of the morning, unidentified
persons plundered and damaged the premises of the "Migjeni" Primary School
in Raskova.
MITROVICA: Tadija Radivojeviq (44) from the village
of Frashër was killed during an attack on the police station in Stantërg
and against the guardmen of the "Trepça" mine. Serbian police stopped
and physically ill-treated Adem Rifat Imeri (21) from Shipol, Xhemajl Adem
Sadiku (20) from Pasoma and 3 co-passengers of his. 2 boxes of cigarettes
were seized from Fadil Muhamet Morina (25) from Gllareva near Klina. At
the check-point in Nedakoc, Serbian police physically ill-treated Ismet
Haliti (41) from Stantërg.
GJILAN: 30 policemen raided the houses of Sali
Malaj (1960), a former political prisoner, living in "Ramiz Sadiku" st.10/20,
and his sister Shyhrete Malaj - Kurteshi (1963), "Ramiz Sadiku" 10/20A.
SEPTEMBER 9:
PEJA: The Albanian political subjects appealed
to the ICRC, USIS, to the International Observers and to other organizations
to aid the 80.000 displaced persons, most of whom are women, children and
elderly. These people are under the iron siege of the Serbian forces and
are passing through very difficult times.
By police order, the corpse of an unidentified
Albanian was buried in Peja. It is supposed that the victim died due to
being tortured at the Security Center in Peja. The corpse was not previously
taken to the morgue of the Peja Hospital.
PRIZREN: The corpses of Refki Gani Shala (35),
Milaim Xhemail Shala (20) and Tamil Beqir Shala (43) were found in Kushnin.
All 3 were killed during the Serb attack on the villages of Vrrin. The
corpse of Marjan Domgjoni (55), a person mentally handicapped from the
village of Grazhdanik, was brought to the morgue of the Prizreni Hospital.
His family had reported him as missing since August 30.
In the "Tusus" quarter, Serbian forces set fire
to the houses of Rrahman Krasniqi and Ismajl Suka. Since the Serb offensive
on this quarter, the Serbian forces have been stationed in the house of
the latter.
RAHOVEC: The corpses of Himë (56) and Ismet
Athem Krasniqi (41) and that of Beqir Beqë Krasniqi (80) were found
and buried in Pastasella. All 3 were killed during the recent Serb offensive.
MALISHEVA: Due to the difficult living conditions
in the open Mihrije Shaban Vrenezi from Maralia and Naile Bislim Morina
from Ostrozub died. 3 corpses were found between the villages of Polluzha
and Guri i Kuq. Serbian forces burned the village of Kramovik. Isuf Idrizi
(70) was killed and his corpse was left unburied. 15 Albanian villagers
were arrested in Guri i Kuq. Banush, Muharrem and Haki Mustafa are among
the arrested. Since July 27, there are no information on the whereabouts
of Latif Ahmet Javori (1920) from Llozica.
GJAKOVA: In Skivjan, Serbian forces killed Dinë
Miftar Çekaj (47) from Irzniq, a teacher with the "Vëllezërit
Frashëri" Gymnasium in Deçan.
LIPJAN: Muharrem Çadraku (55) from Vërshec
was killed on August 27. Eversince, his relatives cannot find his corpse.
GLLOGOC: Serbian forces have surrounded the displaced
people in the villages of Blinaja (Lipovica), Sankoc and Koretica e Epërme.
Last night, the Serbian police and military forces which are stationed
in Kleçka (Malisheva) opened sporadic fire.
MITROVICA: Mexhit Ibrahim Kurti (64) from Çabra
near Zubin Potok, living in the "Tavnik" quarter in Mitrovica, died of
wounds inflicted by the Serbian police. Mexhit was wounded in Klina e Epërme
near Skënderaj, while on his way to visit his sister in Kuqica. Serbian
forces are shelling the villages of Shala e Bajgorës.
GJILAN: Nazim Hajdari (1962), a pharmacist, and
Xhabir Ymeri (1960), a professor, were taken to the police station for
informative talks. Nazim was interrogated regarding the organization of
a first aid course. Xhabir was interrogated regarding the work of the Union
of the Political Subjects, his political activity and the collection of
aid. The following pater familias are being kept in detention: Behram Zogiani
(65) and Eliasa Mjekiqi (1960) from Graboc i Poshtëm (Fushë Kosovë),
Elmi Avdyli from Gllogoc and Hasan Hasani from Gllareva near Klina
FERIZAJ: Kadri Kashtanjeva from Nerodimja e Poshtme
was arrested. Halil Sylë Sylaj (1953), a teacher from Ferizaj, was
summoned to the police station.
SEPTEMBER 10:
PEJA: Serbian police stopped a group of displaced
people who were travelling from Lugu i Baranit to Peja. Their cars and
tractors were seized. The villages of Nepola, Gllogjan, Buçan and
Beleg are on fire. The sports hall in Peja is full of goods plundered from
these villages. More than 10.000 people from the villages of Rugova, mainly
women, children and elderly are under the siege of the Serbian forces.
They lack food, medicine and medical assistance.
Since August 27, Fazli Sali Hasani (66) from
the village of Bokshiq near Klina is in detention at the Peja prison. There
are no information on the whereabouts of 3 Albanian youngsters and Ramë
Mehmet Demukaj (23). In August, all 4 were arrested by the Serbian police
in the outskirts of Loxha. The house of Sali Kralani was burned in the
"Dardania" II quarter in Peja. Miftar Rrustem Nimani (25) from Leshan was
beaten by the police. He was accused of helping the displaced people.
PRIZREN: The following were killed during the
Serb offensive on the villages of Anadrini and Rahovec: Isuf Berisha (70)
from Kramovik, Qazime Bajraktari (70), paralyzed, Afrim Bajraktari (25)
from Polluzha, Mark Sopjani (45) from Dabidol and the 2-month-old baby
of Hysen Kabashi. 3 newly-born-babies died due to the difficult living
conditions in the open.
GJAKOVA: The following villages of Dushkaja were
abandoned: Cërmjan, Kodralia, Gërgoc, Kralan, Zhabel, Bardhaniq
and Jabllanica. The displaced people have sought shelter in the open and
are in a very difficult situation.
KLINA: Arif Adem Berisha (26) from Volljaka was
killed during the Serb attack on Sverka. The villagers of Sverka, Gremnik,
Siçeva and Volljaka sought shelter in the mountains.
RAHOVEC: During the recent offensive, Serbian
forces burned the village of Zatriq. Xhafer N. Kastrati was killed. Muharrem
Spahiu, Brahim Shabani and Elez Kastrati were wounded. There are no information
on the whereabouts of Gazmend Alush Kastrati and Esat Rrahim Kastrati from
Zatriq.
MALISHEVA: During the day, Serbian police and
military forces plundered the vacant Albanian houses in Ostrozub. Goods
were loaded on trucks and taken to an unknown direction. During the night,
automatic fire was opened towards the villages of Malisheva.
GLLOGOC: During the last 2 days, Serbian forces
opened fire towards the village of Blinaja. The Albanian inhabitants of
the district of Gllogoc, who travel towards Prishtina, are ill-treated
in different manners. Their freedom of movement is hindered as their IDs
are torn.
PRISHTINA: At 7 a.m., in the vicinity of the
"Gruri" mill in Bërrnica e Epërme, unidentified armed persons,
wearing black uniforms, kidnapped Hetem Kupina (51) from Nëntë
Jugoviq. His "Mercedes 200" PR-102 831 was seized.
GJILAN: Habib Hamdiu (1958) from Zhegra was taken
for informative talks. He was interrogated regarding his activity with
the Union of the Political Subjects in Gjilan.
MITROVICA: The following pupils with the "Migjeni"
Primary School in "Tavnik" were stopped and beaten by the police: Albin
Enver Voca (17), Ferit Nebih Meholli (16), Shpetim Ejup Idrizi (16) and
Burim Hazir Xhafa (16). The very same happened with Ali (37), Imer (31)
and Sulltan Desku (25) from Siqeva near Klina and Ejup Zejnullahu (30)
from Llausha near Skënderaj. Police tore the IDs of Sanije (29) and
Bahrije Hakif Sinani (26) from Stantërg. In Zubin Potok, Arsim Abdyl
Muzliukaj was stopped, beaten and arrested by the police. He was subjected
to electro-shock. A police convoy opened automatic fire on the Albanian
houses in Shipol.
KAMENICA: Jahi Zubaku, member of the board of
the LDK branch, and Refik Shabani, owner of the "Agrounion" private enterprise,
were sent to 30 days of pre-trial detention.
VITI: Serb paramilitaries threw a bottle towards
the pupils who were returning from Budrika e Epërme.
FERIZAJ: In Nerodima e Epërme, the house
of Halim Rekaj was plundered and burned.
SEPTEMBER 11:
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian police and military forces
shelled Rrezalla, Tica and Plluzhina. The villagers fled their houses.
Tanks and infantry units headed for Rrezalla. Xufë Ramë Ahmeti
(1990), Leutrim Malush Ahmeti (1989) and Ramë Islam Ahmeti were killed
due to shelling. The following were wounded: Fatmire Malush Ahmeti (18),
Brahim Ahmeti (29), Makfirete Ahmeti (14), Bajram Ahmeti (11), Shpresa
Ahmeti (9), Fatmir Ahmeti (35), Skënder Ahmeti (39), Gjyle Raci (30),
Naser Gashi (15), Feti Musliu (22), Nuredin Bacaj (39), Xheladin Behrami

MALISHEVA: Since the beginning of the Serb offensive,
there are no information on the whereabouts of Xhezide, Ali (24), Rrustem
(15), Afërdita (22), Mirdita (20) and Andita Morina (12) from Llashkadrenoc.
Since the Serb attack on Ostrozub on September 7, Sadik Osman Morina (75),
Haxhi Sahit Morina (78) and Beqir Morina (85) with his wife (72) are stuck
in their houses.
DEÇAN: For the last 3 days, tens of thousands
of Albanians from the Dukagjini region are heading for Plava. More than
10.000 people, mainly women, children and elderly are wandering through
the mountains (Bjeshkët e Nemuna), in an attempt to reach Plava. The
files of people stretch for more than 20 km. The displaced are threatened
by the cold weather. Due to the iron siege of the Serbian forces, tens
of thousands of villagers could not flee their homes.
MITROVICA: Serbian police and military forces
shelled Melenica, Mazhiq and the "Trepça" quarter in Mitrovica.
A truck full of goods, which were plundered in the villages of Drenica,
arrived in Mitrovica. 2 policemen chased Arben Zeqir Sejdiu (28) from the
village of Runik near Skënderaj.
FERIZAJ: In Kosina, police wounded Milaim Vesel
Rashiti (22) from Petrova. Bashkim Rifat Kokollari (25) was physically
ill-treated. The following LDK activists were arrested: Ismail, Haziz and
Liman Kokollari, Rexhep Jetishi and Rexhep Jashari from Kosina and Gani
Rashiti (51) and his son Gafurr Rashiti (17) from Petrova. Many houses
were raided in the village of Koshare. The following were physically ill-treated:
Avdullah Sadriu, Gani Jakupi, Alush and Faruk Qerimi, Kadrush and Isuf
Metushi, Sadik, Nexhat, Sokol and Sabri Fazliu, Fehmi Ademi, Zahir Halimi,
Ajet, Imri, Halil and Nuhi Sopa and Sevdije Sadiku from Koshare. The very
same happened to the displaced people from the villages in the district
of Shtime, who were sheltered in Koshare: Fehmi Beqa and his son from Petrova,
Behxhet, Tahir and Imer Çerkini from Carraleva, Ramush Syla from
Reçak, Jetullah and Mejdi Sopa from Mollopolc, etc. The villagers
were given an ultimatum to hand in their weapons, otherwise their houses
would be burned. In Nerodima e Poshtme, police raided the houses of Bekim
Bajrami and Ismail Kashtanjeva. Flamur Bajrami from Nerodima e Poshtme
was arrested in Ferizaj.
VITI: A Serb civilian opened automatic fire towards
Milaim and Ibrahim Abazi and Muharrem Sapiqi from Gjylekara. Milaim was
injured. All 3 were arrested and interrogated by the police.
PODUJEVA: Hajriz Ibishi from Kalatica, a taxi
driver, was physically ill-treated by the police.
SUHAREKA: On being severely ill-treated, Enver
Zmalaj and Abedin Beqiraj from Grejkoc, were released from prison. They
were ordered to tell their fellow villagers to hand in their weapons. Vitor
Markaj, vice-president with the LDK branch in Suhareka, was stopped and
physically ill-treated by the police.
PRISHTINA: Since August 26, there are no information
on the whereabouts of Hamdi Sijarina (40), former principal with the primary
school in Dabishevc.
SEPTEMBER 12:
DEÇAN: Last night, while fleeing towards
Montenegro, in Milishec, at the place called "Te varret e vajzave", Orhan
Maxhun Dervishaj (17) from Irzniq and Ekrem Bekë Lulaj (18) from Broliq
and two other unidentified Albanians were killed. Ten Albanians were killed
in Qafa e Roshkodolit. Since last night, about 3000 displaced Albanians
from the Dukagjini Plain are under the siege of Serbian army and special
units in Bogiqe mountains, several kilometres from Plava, and are not allowed
to enter the town, as the Montenegrin government has made a decision not
to allow Kosovar Albanians to enter Montenegro. They are subjected to violence
and some of them are arrested. About 2000 people were forced back to Kosova.
About 1000 people went towards Rozhaja. At the mountain huts in Roshkodol,
Serbian forces opened fire towards the refugees.
ULQIN: By the decision of the Ministry for Education
in Montenegro, about 10.000 Kosovar Albanians will not be allowed to attend
the lessons in Montenegro.
GJAKOVA: Serbian police forced back thousands
of inhabitants of Dushkaja region, who had taken shelter in Isniq near
Deçan. Over 60 tractors with children, women and elderly travelled
through Deçan-Gjakova road and were stopped in Piskota and were
forced back towards the villages of Cërmjan, Krelan, Gërgoc,
etc. The population of Gjakova is facing difficulties regarding the sheltering
and food supply.
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian offensive against the
villages of Rrezalla, Likoc, Plluzhina, Makërmal, Dosheva and Polluzha
went on. The population is again fleeing its homes. 73 tractors and other
vehicles with children, women and elderly headed towards Vushtrri. Many
civilians were captivated by the Serbian forces in Lladroviq near Rrezalla.
Serbian forces burned the houses.
KLINA: Serbian forces shelled Sverka e Gashit.
Arif Adem Bilalli (32) from Volljaka and Mujë Gashi (65) from Qabiq
were killed. In the entrance of Zabërgja, an unidentified corpse is
lying unburied. Gjyle Raci from Siçeva was wounded during the clashes
in Likoc. Serbian police and civilians are looting and burning the Albanian
houses. The campaign of raids and arrests has started. Jahir (52) and Zahir
Agushi (50), Agim Duraku (45) and Ramadan Baca, a pedagogue from Klina,
and Zaim Gashi from Sverka were arrested.
RAHOVEC: The corpses of Avdullah Lush Kastrati
and Esat Lush Kastrati were found in the Zatriqi mountains. In Dragobil
near Malisheva, Serbian police arrested 13 women and children under the
age of 15 from Zatriq, who had taken shelter in Gurbardh. All were taken
to Malisheva.
VUSHTRRI: Basri Hajzer Beqiri (22) from Okrashtica
died in the Tirana Hospital. He was wounded during the clashes in Gllogjan.
MITROVICA: Serbian police opened fire on the
car of Hajrullah Sali Jusufi (43) from Koshtova e Bobit, an activist of
the "Mother Theresa" Humanitarian & Charitable Association. He and
his co-passengers Mustafë Rrahim Ademi, secretary of the "Mother Theresa"
Humanitarian & Charitable Association, Jetish Ibrahim Bajrami (48),
chairman with the Emergency Council in Mitrovica and Sali Selim Preteni
(30), cashier with the very same, were injured.
FERIZAJ: Serbian police, military and paramilitary
forces opened fire towards the Albanian houses in Nerodima e Poshtme. The
Albanian villagers fled towards Ferizaj and the surrounding villages. Bajram
Maloku from Jezerc was arrested in a fast food restaurant in Ferizaj.
SUHAREKA: Armed Serb civilians opened fire and
provoked their Albanian neighbours.
SHTIME: 4 passers-by were arrested by the Serbian
police. Many others were ill-treated.
SEPTEMBER 13:
PLAVA: Montenegrin police stopped a group of
3.500 Albanians from the district of Deçan and prevented them from
going to Plava. They were put in buses and taken to the border with Albania.
PRIZREN: Serbian police handed an ultimatum to
the villagers of Dushanova and Petkova. The very same was done with the
inhabitants of the "Tusus" and "Bajram Curri" quarters in Prizren. They
were given 15 minutes of time to hand in their weapons.
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian police and military forces
attacked the village of Likoc. During the last 2 days, there were fierce
clashes in this village. Ramë Mursel Gjinovci (65) was killed in his
house in Makërmal. Elmije Ramë Ahmeti (7) from Rezalla was killed
due to shelling. Hazir Tahiraj (42) from Tërdec and Skënder Krasniqi
(36) from Tërstenik were wounded. For the last few days, there are
no information on the whereabouts of Nebih Rrustemi and his 11-member-
family from Çubrel.
GLLOGOC: On September 13, it was confirmed that
Islam Dini was among those killed on August 24, during the Serb offensive
on Nekoc.
FERIZAJ: Police and armed Serb civilians opened
fire towards the 24 Albanian houses in the Kashtanjeva quarter in Nerodima
e Epërme. Ismail (74), Islam (64), Zymer (67), Jakup (50) and Fehmi
Kashtanjeva (26) were arrested. The situation in this village is very tense.
DELAYED INFORMATION:
GLLOGOC: During the Serb attack on Komoran, police
burned the house of Halil Bogaj (1932), a pensioner. His library with 5000
books was burned. On August 24, Emine Krrapi-Ajazi suffered a trauma due
to the Serb attack on Nekoc. Her brother Idriz Krrapi suffered a nervous
breakdown and with the mediation of the ICRC was taken to the Neuropsychiatry
ward of the Prishtina Hospital.
On August 4, Mehmet Alush Cakiqi from Tërstenik
was stopped by the police, while taking his child to the Health Care Center
in Gllogoc. He was taken to the police station for informative talks.
PRISHTINA: On August 12, in the vicinity of the
Prishtina airport in Sllatina, Serbian police arrested Nebih Maloku (1964)
from Prishtina, an asylum-seeker repatriated from Germany. He was severely
ill-treated.
PODUJEVA: On August 22, in the vicinity of the
green market, police stopped Enver Zeneli from Sibovc i Epërm, his
brother Skënder Zeneli and their father Sheqir Zeneli (1925), a pensioner.
All 3 were physically ill-treated.
GJILAN: On August 25, Musah Hoxha (1965), "Ramiz
Sadiku" st. VI/26, owner of the "Vitapharm" drugstore, was taken for informative
talks. He was interrogated regarding the organization of a first aid course.
Under the very same pretext, on September 4,
Musa Qazimi (1962), a dentist, living in "Ramiz Sadiku" st. V/23, was taken
for informative talks. At midnight, unidentified persons opened fire on
the house Afrim Rudi (1970), "Qenar Çeshme" st.
PEJA: On August 30, Serbian police arrested Mustafë
E. Shala from Loxha. He was taken to the jail in Peja.
PRIZREN: On September 1, Florida Ajgori (5) from
Lubiçeva was severely wounded, during the attack of the Serbian
police and military forces on the villages of Vërrin.
OBILIQ: On September 1, 30 hectares of wheat
fields were burned in Shipitulla.
FERIZAJ: On September 1-2, Bashkim Vehbi Hyseni
(20) from Komogllava was detained for 25 hours and physically ill-treated
by the police. On September 5, Serbian police in Nerodima e Epërme
seized the cars of Salih E. Rexhepi, Xhevat and Ruzhdi B. Reka, Hajrush
I. and Sahbi B. Reka.
VITI: On September 4, Enver (18), Fadil (28)
and Xhezair Beqiri (30) and Shaqir Metallari (28) from Mjak were arrested
and physically ill-treated by Serb military units.
