FROM SEPTEMBER 13 UNTIL SEPTEMBER 20 1998
SEPTEMBER 13:
PLAVA: Thousands of Albanian refugees from Kosova
were deported from Montenegro to Albania. Some 2000 displaced people from
the villages of Lugu i Baranit were sheltered in the villages of Rugova.
VUSHTRRI: Since midnight, Serb paramilitaries
from Prilluzha opened machine gun fire towards the villages of Çiçavica
- Gllavatin, Bivolak, Zhilivoda and Stanoc i Poshtëm. Amrush Asllani
(50) was killed in the vicinity of his house.
KLINA: For many days now, the corpses of Musa
Gashi and that of an unidentified Albanian were left unburied in the village
of Çabiq. In Poterç, Serbian police plundered and burned
the house Maxhun Krasniqi. Police plundered the house of Avdi Zeneli. Nuredin
Daka from Cerovik was wounded.
SUHAREKA: As Serb forces are still stationed
in the villages of Luzhnica, Grejçevc, Reshtan, Studençan,
Samadraxha and Dobërdolan many villagers fear from returning to their
homes. In Suhareka, the house of Fatmir D. Sopaj, in the vicinity of the
police station, was burned. Lulzim E. Gashi was arrested. In Shiroka, Demë
Ndrecaj was taken for informative talks. Dema had previously been physically
ill-treated by the police. In Reçan, police searched for Imbradin
Jetullah Fetaj.
GLLOGOC: In Polluzha, the houses of Muhamet,
Xhafer and Feriz Kastrati were burned due to shelling. Many houses in the
Ahmetaj quarter in Rezalla were burned. The primary school in Shtutica
was hit. A barn with 6 t of wheat, belonging to Bajram Daut Istogu, was
burned in the Istogu quarter in Polluzha.
FERIZAJ: Last night, police arrested Veli (64)
and Sami Kashtanjeva (44) from Nerodimja e Epërme. They were physically
ill-treated. In Nerodimja e Epërme, police opened fire on the house
of Avdullah Kashtanjeva (1929). Police arrested Adem Ukzmajli from Zaskok.
PRISHTINA: Hamzë Kadri Seferi (1958), a
pensioner from the village of Grejçevc near Suhareka, underwent
a surgery in the Prishtina Hospital. He was wounded in the vicinity of
Bllaca on the night between September 11-12. Shefqet Hajdini (1979), a
pupil from Gllogovica, was severely ill-treated in Kamenica. He was detained
for more than 3 hours as the policemen thought that he is from Gllogoc.
PRIZREN: In Lubizhda, police burned the houses
of Mitat and Reshat Vehapi. The villagers were given an ultimatum to hand
in their weapons.
VITI: Police stopped Besim Bislimi (1975) from
Drobesh. He was forced into a car and taken 3 km out of the town. Later
on, he was forced to swallow a pill and lost conscience. Using a knife,
policemen drew crosses all over his body. Besim was threatened to be killed.
KAÇANIK: In search of Fatlir Luzha (1978),
police raided and demolished the house of Fadil Hajdar Luzha (1969) from
Begraca. Fadil's brother Bekim (24) and their mother were physically ill-treated.
Bekim was ordered to report to the police.
SEPTEMBER 14:
RAHOVEC: The Islamic Community published the
list of the 82 Albanians killed during the Serb offensive on Rahovec. Apart
from those who were already mentioned in our reports, the following are
in the list: Ibrahim (58), Selami (49) and Sokol Hysen Dina (47); Fatmir
Ibrahim Dina (23); Hysen Fahredin Dina (23); Xhemile Ismail Dina (54);
Ibrahim (82) and Haki Mehmed Sylka (75); Nahit Bezad Shehu (56); Teki Zija
Shehu (47); Eshref Haxhi Shehu (37); Samir Ibrahim Shehu (27); Fetije Halim
Mullaabazi (65); Ryvije Sadik Mullaabazi (66); Mejrem Nuredin Mullaabazi

MITROVICA: Loud detonations were heard from Shala
e Bajgorës. Since yesterday, Serbian police and military forces are
shelling the villages of Mazhiq, Vidishiq, Melenica, Kutllovc, Bare and
Zjaqa. In Mazhiq, the houses of Sylë and Milazim Ahmeti were damaged.
The house of Milazim Ademi (32), chairman of the LDK sub-branch in the
village of Rashan was damaged. A military convoy with tanks, armoured cars,
trucks and APCs headed for Stantërg. Another convoy of the Serbian
police and military forces headed for Skënderaj. 11 trucks loaded
with furniture and other house equipment left Skënderaj and headed
towards Prishtina. The policemen stationed at the check-point in Shipol
opened automatic and machine gun fire. Many bullets hit the nearby houses.
In the vicinity of the green market, police stopped Sabit Osman Marmullaku
(35) from the village of Dush near Klina. He was detained for 4 hours.
He and his family had sought shelter in Mitrovica.
KLINA: In the villages of Çupeva e Epërme,
Volljaka and Sverka, Serb forces set fire to the Albanian houses which
were not burned due to shelling. Agim Rrustem Shala from Ujmir and a friend
of his from Sllatina were killed due to shelling. The villagers of Potërç
started fleeing their houses, as they were given an ultimatum to hand in
their weapons. There are no information on the whereabouts of Sadri Haxha
from Gllareva.
SUHAREKA: The corpse of Sulejman Maliq Krasniqi
(56) was found in the village of Samadraxha. He was killed 2 weeks ago,
during the Serb offensive on this region. The corpse is carbonized and
cannot be buried as Serb forces are located in its vicinity.
PRIZREN: The villagers of Lutogllava were threatened
and given an ultimatum to hand in their weapons. Since August 2, there
are no information on the whereabouts of Hazir Tarjani from Pirana. Hazir
was kidnapped by 2 unidentified persons. Since August 25, there are no
information on the whereabouts of Sabri Sali Morina from Vranjak. Nehat
Berisha from Lez was reported missing since September 1. Durak Tahir Krasniqi
(1973) from Pagarusha was released from hospital. 6 days ago, he was arrested
in the village of Dragobil near Malisheva. Durak was tortured in the police
stations in Ostrozub and Prizren.
PODUJEVA: During the last 2 days, large police
forces were stationed in the villages of Obrança and Orllan.
PEJA: The burning of the Albanian houses continues
in the "Dardania" II quarter. The house of Azem Mazrekaj was burned. Aziz
Zeka died on seeing the ruins of his house. The very same happened to a
woman in the village of Lubeniq. Leonard Krasniqi and Mustafë Gjocaj
were arrested in Baran. Kamer Sylë Buçolli was arrested in
Raushiq. In the outskirts of Rozhaja, Montenegrin police is stopping the
Albanians from Kosova.
FERIZAJ: In Nerodima e Epërme, Serb civilians
physically ill-treated Halil Nuhi Kadriu (81) and Gazmend Maloku (15).
In the village of Zllatar, Kemajl Halili was stopped and physically ill-treated
by the police. Police inspectors arrested Valbone Parllaku (1975) and her
two children Leutrim (1997) and Majlinda Parllaku (1998). She was arrested
under the pretext of not having the Yugoslav citizenship. Valbona's parents
had immigrated from Albania. Yet, she was born in Ferizaj.
GJILAN: Ekrem Avdullahu (1973), a farmer from
Zhegra, was arrested and brutally ill-treated for weapons.
SEPTEMBER 15:
MITROVICA: Serbian police and military forces
continue to shell the villages of Shala e Bajgorës: Kaqandoll, Bajgora,
Bare, Zjaqa, Mazhiq, Kutllovc, Rashan, Melenica and Rahova. The detonations
can be heard in Mitrovica. A convoy of 150 vehicles headed for Stantërg.
Excessive damage in property was caused. In the village of Mazhiq, the
houses of Asllan Mehmet Jonuzi (33), Milazim Mustafë Ahmeti (52),
Gjylazim Nuredin Zeneli (67) and Sabit Bejtë Strana (45) were destroyed.
Due to shelling, 35 houses were burned in Zabërgja, 78 in Vidishiq,
87 in Melenica and 13 in the Voca quarter in Magjera. An Albanian was killed
and 11 were wounded. 20.000 people from Shala e Bajgorës were displaced.
In Shupkoc, police is stopping, arresting and ill-treating Albanian passers-by.
Basri Sali Ibrahimi (35) from Shupkoc, Beqir Tahir Tupella (37) from Kçiq
i Vogël and Bajram Sali Ibrahimi were detained for more than 4 hours.
At the place called "Shkëmbi i Dudës" in the outskirts of Mitrovica,
Serbian police and military forces arrested Besnik Zymer Peci (27) and
Kujtim Xhevat Peci (16) from Boletin, Smajl Hasan Peci (23) and Afrim Xhevat
Peci (20) from Rahova, Gani Xhafer Preteni (27) and Bashkim Mursel Preteni
(24) from Melenica. The above mentioned were physically ill-treated while
in police detention.
DEÇAN: The corpses of Isuf (76), Sadri
(73) and Azem Ramadan Ukaj (67) were found in Ratish. All 3 were killed
in their house yard on September 9.
PEJA: Nuredin Sadiku, a journalist of the "Rilindja"
daily and a political activist, died as an aftermath of injuries suffered.
He had been brutally tortured by the Serbian police.
SUHAREKA: The carbonized corpse of Sylejman Maliq
Krasniqi (56) from Samadraxha was found. He was killed on August 27. 2
unidentified corpses were found in Reshtan.
VUSHTRRI: Serbian police and military forces
shelled Pasoma. The house of Ahmet Ferizi was burned. Soldiers opened fire
towards the fleeing villagers.
PODUJEVA: Tens of Albanian citizens were ill-treated
by the Serbian police forces stationed in Podujeva. A police and military
convoy (tanks, armoured cars, trucks) headed for Dobratin. 36 tanks were
stationed in this village. 12 tanks continued towards Dumnica. Large police
forces were stationed at the check-point in the vicinity of the "Besiana"
motel in Podujeva. The offices of the LDK and those of the sub-CDHRF were
blocked.
GLLOGOC: Serbian police and military forces burned
the houses in Likoc, Makërmal and Rezalla. Raza Halili (40) from Plluzhina
near Skënderaj is in a bad health condition and needs medical assistance.
She and her family are sheltered in Tërstenik. The situation of the
displaced people is alarming. 1784 Albanians, mainly women, children and
elderly are living in the open in the forests near Kishnareka.
FERIZAJ: Unidentified persons opened fire through
the streets of Pleshina. In Koshare, Gazmend Beqiri (30) was arrested by
a Serb policeman. He was detained for a day.
KAMENICA: Serbian police arrested Hasan Rapuca
and Ramadan A. Haxhiu, LDK activists from Koretin, and Shpetim Krasniqi
from Kamenica.
SEPTEMBER 16:
MITROVICA and PODUJEVA: Serbian police and military
forces shelled the villages of Shala e Bajgorës. At 10 a.m., a large
police convoy (150 vehicles) arrived from Serbia and headed for Prishtina.
In Stantërg, Serbian police killed Halim Halil Ferizi (60) and his
son Enver (38); Rizah Ferat Tahiri (55) from Selac and Avni Rasim Shabani
(26) from Dedia. Halim and Enver were killed in their house yard. Police
set fire to the house and arrested Halim's sons Fadil (35) and Adil (32).
They were detained for 8 hours and brutally beaten. Serb infantry is looting
and setting fire to the Albanian houses in Mazhiq, Rahova and Stantërg.
Many were killed and wounded in these villages. In Shupkoc, the following
were stopped, arrested and physically ill-treated by the police: Bekim
Zymer Preteni (23) from Melenica, Xhavit Avdullah Kurti (25) and Naim Jahir
Kurti (19) from Vllahia, Rifat Hamit Gashi (36) from Qabiq, Vehbi Shaban
Haziri (28), Remzi Ahmet Haziri (40) and Bekim Fadil Haziri (20) from Kaqanoll,
Isuf Mursel Mustafa (52), Izet Sherif Syla (61) and Bedri Hamit Mehmeti
(48) from Zasella.
MALISHEVA: On returning to their houses in the
village of Dragobil, Osman Metë Paçarizi (60) and Fehmi Miftar
Paçarizi (45) were caught by the Serb forces, taken to Malisheva
and executed.
GJAKOVA: Smajl Sadri Ahmeti (73) was killed in
his house yard in the village of Krelan.
PRIZREN: The corpse of Bajram Murat Thaçi
(65) was found in Lubiçeva. He was killed during the Serb offensive
on the villages of Vrrin.
PODUJEVA: At 11 a.m., Serb forces blocked the
road between Podujeva
and Kërpimeh. Serb snipers and armoured
cars were stationed in several places. The American team of International
Observers was prevented from going to the villages of Kërpimeh and
Dobratin. Dr. Fadil Dabinovci from Dobratin was arrested in Podujeva. Police
check-points were set on all cross-roads. Serb forces continued shelling
the villages of Shala e Bajgorës. Agron Berisha (1976) from Konushevc
was stopped by the police. He was severely ill-treated.
VUSHTRRI: At 7 a.m., Serbian forces shelled the
villages of Pasoma and Tërllabuq. Excessive damage in property was
caused, yet, there were no casualties. The inhabitants of the attacked
villages are moving towards Mitrovica and Vushtrria. Many villagers were
prevented from going to these 2 towns and are now in the open.
PEJA: A large number of villagers from Lugu i
Baranit were arrested and taken to the Peja prison. Metë Osmanaj from
Isniq (Deçan) was arrested. The situation is burdened by the fact
that 3000 Albanians, mainly women and children, are not allowed to cross
to Montenegro and cannot return to their destroyed villages.
SUHAREKA: Police arrested Hafir Cikaçi
from Suhareka. In the vicinity of Gjinoc, 2 Serb civilians kidnapped Skënder
Destan Krasniqi (43) from Samadraxha. He was forced into a car and taken
to the police check-point in Shiroka. Eversince, there are no information
on his whereabouts.
RAHOVEC: Serbian forces burned many houses in
Guri i Kuq. 9 villagers were arrested. Haki Mustafa (16) and Selim Fetahu
(70) were among the arrested. In Ratkoc, police is asking for money from
the Albanians who have no weapons.
PRISHTINA: At 8 p.m., armed Serb civilians opened
automatic fire towards the house of Haxhi Abazi (56) in Nentë Jugoviq.
SEPTEMBER 17:
PODUJEVA: A large police and military convoy
headed for Dobratin. There was shooting in the vicinity of Obrança
and in the forest in the vicinity of Poklek. At 9.30 a.m., 3 tanks and
2 APCs from the military base in Obrança headed towards Penuha.
The Albanian villagers of Pakashtica were handed an ultimatum to leave
their village. Ramadan Hoxha from Pakashtica was arrested. Dr. Fadil Dabinovci
was arrested on September 16. Since then, he was twice taken for informative
talks.
Serbian forces killed Fetah Sefer Hyseni (60)
from Kaçanoll, a father of 9, and Maksut Rekaliu (55) from Dobratin.
Haki Rekaliu (35) from Dobratin was severely wounded. The following were
reported missing since the Serb offensive on Dobratin: Rrahim Zeneli, Ejup
Idrizi and a friend of Ejup. In Dobratin, many houses were looted, burned
and destroyed. The very same happened to the local primary school and the
village mosque. Farming equipment was looted and burned. Crosses were drawn
on many walls. 85 trucks were loaded with goods looted in the attacked
villages. These trucks as well as many looted cars and tractors were noticed
heading for Prishtina. 20 tanks were stationed at the place called "Tabet
e Llapashticës" and in Obrança. At 10 p.m., Serbian police
kidnapped an unidentified person in "Ali Ajeti" st. in Podujeva. People
living in the nearby houses heard the cries of the victim. The victim's
tractor and stains of blood can be noticed on the spot. Shaip Abdullahu
(26) was severely ill-treated by the police. DM 300 were looted from him.
VUSHTRRI: At 6 p.m., Halil Rexhep Mustafa (1940),
a father of 4, was killed in his house yard in Smrekonica. Serb snipers
shot him with "dum-dum" bullets. Abedin Shaqir Ferizi (55) from Pasoma,
principal with the "Sefedin Bejta" Primary School in Rashan, was severely
wounded by the Serbian forces. In Tërllabuq, 2 members of the Osmani
family (a woman and her son) were wounded due to Serb shelling. The village
of Pasoma and the Albanian houses in Banjska are on fire. The villagers
of Pasoma, Tërllabuq, Karaxha, Studimë e Epërme, Sllakoc,
Cecelia, Samadraxha and Banjska fled towards Vushtrria and the safer regions.
PRIZREN: The corpse of an unidentified Albanian
was found in Gorozhup, on the border with Albania. Kujtim and Fatmir Memaj,
Nexhmedin Ajazaj and Adem Elezkurtaj from Zhur, Afrim Berisha from Lez
and Berat Xhezairi from Prizren are being kept in pre-trial detention in
the prison of the Military Court in Nish. Earlier, the very same had happened
to Islam Thaçi and Tahir Hasani. At the check-point in Hatmagja,
police stopped and severely ill-treated Aziz Morina, an engineer living
in "Mazllom Këpuska" st. 56.
20 policemen raided the house of Mahmut Bytyçi,
"Ulqini" st. 163. His son Fatmir and his son-in-law Jashar Çatani
from Duhla near Suhareka were arrested. 32 Albanians (17 children) from
the attacked villages in the district of Suhareka were sheltered in this
house.
220 pupils from Mushnikova and 380 pupils from
Lubizhda had to stop going to school as the Serb authorities in Prizren
ordered that all classes are to be held in Serbian.
PEJA: 13 villages of Rugova are still under iron
siege, whereas 15.000 inhabitants are threatened by famine and diseases.
The Montenegrin authorities have closed all the roads to these villages.
In Lybeniq, Hajdin Alimehaj (66) died of heart attack, when he saw his
ruined house. Since September 8, the whereabouts of Shpejtim Sahit Bobaj
from Lybeniq are unknown.
SUHAREKA: At about 9.30 a.m., a convoy of Serbian
forces paraded through Suhareka. The whereabouts of Agim Bilall Manxhukaj
(36) from Samadraxha and Naser Rizah Tafaj (23) from Grejkoc are unknown
since the beginning of the Serbian offensive.
SHTIME: Yesterday, about 30 policemen raided
the house of Ruzhdi Jashari, chairman of the Sub-CDHRF in Shtime. As they
failed to find him, policemen arrested his brother Hamdi. Vehbi Limani
from Belinca was arrested, too.
PRISHTINA: A group of Serbian youngsters beat
Idriz Rrahmani (14), a pupil with the "Hasan Prishtina" Primary School.
MITROVICA: Serbian police stopped, arrested and
severely ill-treated Hajdin (44) and Nezir Haxha (30) from Maxhera and
Sabedin Bahtiri from Lushta, who were on their way to find shelter in town.
They were kept at the police station for 6 hours and were interrogated
on the KLA, severely ill-treated and forced to profane the Albanian flag.
Hajdin claimed that during his stay at the police station, he saw more
than 50 Albanians, arrested and badly beaten, among whom Fadil Sadiku (34)
from Runik near Skënderaj, Bedri Dibrani (28) from Dedi, Rrahim Hyseni
(56), a former policeman, and Skender Hyseni (36) from Melenica and Skender
Begu from Vllahi.
SEPTEMBER 18:
MITROVICA: During 3 days of shelling, 7 Albanians
were killed and many were wounded. Hundreds of Albanian houses were burned:
145 in Bajgora, 140 in Stantërg, 124 in Bare, 85 in Melenica, 82 in
Vidishiq, 66 in Rashan, 59 in Kaçanoll, 54 in Tërstena, 46
in Mazhiq, 40 in Selac, 32 in Kutllovc, 31 in Maxhera, 27 in Kovaçica,
27 in Dedi, 25 in Zabërgja, 18 in Trepçali, and 11 in Zjaqa.
Many heads of cattle were killed in these villages. The inhabitants of
the attacked villages had to flee and to seek shelter in the valleys of
Shala e Bajgorës. They are threatened by the lack of food, the cold
and epidemics. No medical assistance can be provided to the displaced.
The situation in Mitrovica is very tense. Police is harassing, arresting
and ill-treating the Albanian villagers from this region, regardless of
their sex and age. In Shupkoc, police arrested Musli M. Berisha (63) and
Kimete B. Berisha (30) from Kçiqi i Madh. The very same happened
to the driver and the passengers who were travelling with the "Kosovatransi"
bus in Vushtrria.
GJAKOVA: The Independent Trade Union of the "Metaliku"
Enterprise, sent the list of the 108 Albanians, workers with this enterprise,
who were reported missing since the beginning of the clashes in Kosova.
The whereabouts of the following are unknown: Ismail Berisha from Kramovik;
Sokol Pajaziti, Can Pajaziti, Smajl Osmani, Abaz Musa, Ukë Marku,
Xhavit Fetahu, Ali Alia and Xhemajl Alia from Dobrosh; Hajdar Rama, Abaz
Ahmeti, Ismet Rrahmani and Ahmet Ahmeti from Smolica; Naser Hajdari, Mon
Halilaj, Ibish Halilaj, Azem Mekaj, Brahim Zenuni, Zymber Ahmeti, Fahri
Hajdari, Isa Islami and Ymer Fetaj from Krelan; Hamdi Sadria from Brovina;
Pam Pamaj, Ramë Alia, Gani Muja, Muhamet Hasanaj and Zeqë Pamaj
from Skivjan; Ahmet Thaçi and Tafë Thaçi from Damjan;
Kolë Lleshi, Mirash Abazi and Sali Isufi from Osek-Hyla; Mark Abazi,

PODUJEVA: The situation in the district of Podujeva
is very tense. Many houses in Kaçanoll, Dobratin and the Lepaja
quarter in Bajçina are on fire. An ultimatum was given to the Albanian
villagers of Pakashtica, Metohia, Revuç and Kërpimeh. They
were ordered to hand in their weapons. Serb policemen are ill-treating
passers-by. They prevented foreign diplomats, International Observers and
foreign journalists from visiting the attacked villages.
In the early hours of the morning, Serbian forces
released Zymer (63) and Zijadin Ahmeti (65) from the village of Dobratin.
There are no information on the whereabouts of Xhafer Ajvazi from Dobratin,
living in Podujeva. He was kidnapped on September 15. In the vicinity of
the offices of the District Council for Emergency Aid in Podujeva, Serbian
police arrested Isuf Berisha, vice-chairman with this council and member
of the PPK and Faik Jashari, activist of the LDK from Batllava. On being
interrogated in the premises of the Security Center, they were released.
VUSHTRRI: In Shupkoc, police arrested Remzi Tahiri
(34) from Galica near Vushtrria, a teacher with the "Marin Beçikemi"
Secondary School. On looting and burning the villages of Bare, Tërstena,
Melenica, Bajgora, Karaçica, and Kaçanoll in Shala e Bajgorës,
Pasoma and Tërrlabuq, the Serbian forces which were stationed in Shala
e Bajgorës, withdrew. 8 tanks were left in Banjska. They shelled Pasoma
and Tërllabuq.
GLLOGOC: At noon, there were fierce clashes between
the villages of Likoc and Makërmal. Serb units were re-enforced with
11 tanks, 7 trucks and other military vehicles. 3 armoured cars were noticed
while heading for Skënderaj. They were carrying the soldiers and the
policemen who were killed or wounded. 15 villages in the district of Skënderaj
with more than 30.000 inhabitants were left vacant. No Albanian civilians
can be noticed between the village of Polac and Kijeva. 180 Albanian families
were sheltered in the Vuçaku Gorge. They are facing a humanitarian
disaster as they have no food or medical assistance.
PRIZREN: The corpse of Naser Rizah Tafaj (23)
from Grejkoc near Suhareka was found in the Hasi region on the border with
Albania. His whereabouts were unknown since the beginning of the Serb offensive
on this region. Ekrem Asllani is being treated in the Surgery Ward of the
Prizreni Hospital. 11 members of the Asllani family from Ranca near Shtime
were killed on August 13, during the shelling of the village of Grejçec
near Suhareka. In the outskirts of the town, police arrested Musli, Muhamet
and Erkan Krasniqi and Sulltane Shala from Hoça e Qytetit. They
were brutally beaten. Apart from Muhamet Krasniqi, all were released.
MALISHEVA: The corpse of Xhevë Gashi (75)
was found in Balinca. There are no information on the whereabouts of her
husband Vesel Zenel Gashi (75).
KAÇANIK: Large military forces were stationed
in the forests between Bajnica, Gërlica and Semaj. The local villagers
fled to Gaçka and Ferizaj.
FERIZAJ: In Nerodime e Poshtme, unidentified
persons burned the house of Salih Shefki Sejdiu. In the village of Gjurkovc,
police stopped Xhavit Daut Krasniqi (1981) from Duga near Shtime. He was
physically ill-treated.
PEJA: Idriz (60), Hamdi (19) and Bekë Hereçi
(21) from Kralan (Gjakova) and Ylber Ali Dizdari (22) from Kosuriq near
Peja were arrested by the Serbian police. They were fleeing from the village
of Kralan and heading towards Peja. Ibrahim Osman Gashi (49) and Çaush
Shaban Selca (50) from Baran were arrested in the yard of the Peja Hospital.
They had brought a patient to hospital.
KAMENICA: Serbian police arrested Ismet Hoda,
chairman of the LDK sub-branch in Koretin, and Shefqet F. Canaj.
SEPTEMBER 19:
PRIZREN: In a strong blast in the vicinity of
Leskovec, Behar Mejdin Xhema (10) and Betim Xheladin Xhema (13) were killed.
The following were severely wounded: Avdullah Kryeziu (13), Milaim Abdullah
Krasniqi (13), Nafi Xheladin Xhema (11), Shpëtim Mejdin Xhema (9)
and Hashim Enver Krasniqi (9). The latter died of the wounds suffered.
The children were on their way to visit their destroyed houses. Arif Enver
Krasniqi was arrested in the vicinity of the local hospital. He had brought
his brother to hospital.
Some 50 policemen raided the house of Hazir Bajram
Paçarizi. Hazir was severely ill-treated. His son Ismet was arrested.
A day before, his other son Besim was arrested. Elez Elezi, a professor
with the "Gjon Buzuku" Gymnasium was arrested. Xhafer Kabashi from Prizren
was arrested on the road between the village of Kabash and Prizren. Students
Blerim Ibrahimi and Hysen Durmishi from the village of Mushtisht near Suhareka
were arrested in Ferizaj. They were taken to the police station in Prizren.
There are no information on the whereabouts of Shefqet Berisha from Lez.
After the ultimatum to hand in their weapons,
Serbian police and military forces surrounded the following villages bordering
with Albania: Kushnin, Lubizhda, Kabash, Dedaj and Damjan. The inhabitants
were put together in the village centers, women and children were separated.
The men were forced into school facilities and houses appropriate for the
purpose. In the village of Krajk, the Serbian army stopped the displaced
Albanians from Romaja, who were on their way to take shelter in some safer
places.
SKËNDERAJ: The following were killed due
to the shelling of Likoc: Xhavit Kadriu (21) and Naser Jashar Hoti (72)
from Likoc, as well as Cen Gjinovci (65) from Makërmal.
GJAKOVA: Serbian police and military forces are
burning the houses in the villages of Smolica, Koshare, Morina and Potok.
Due to the cold weather, the baby (2 months) of Avdyl and Ryve Leka from
Grabanik near Klina died. The whereabouts of Safet Kuçi (1951) from
Gjakova, Avni Tahiri (23) and Florim Mustafa from Maznik are unknown. Two
corpses were brought to the morgue of the Gjakova Hospital. One of them
was Adonis Byci (18) from Gjakova. Two wounded persons were also brought
to the Gjakova Hospital: Shyhrete Smajl Bajramaj (12) from Strellc i Poshtëm
near Deçan and Avni Kadria (21) from Stublla.
Serbian police, military and paramilitary
forces surrounded the villages of Damjan, Greqina and Lipovec and took
hostage 600 men. They were locked in the school premises in Lipovec and
Greqina, whereas their women and children were kept near-by until 7.00
p.m. This action was undertaken after the ultimatum for handing in the
weapons. In the meantime, fire was set to the houses in the Halilaj quarter
of Lipovec. Zenun Gjuraj and his son Ramush Gjuraj were arrested in Greqina
and sent to the police station in Gjakova.
MITROVICA: About 20.000 inhabitants of Shala
e Bajgorës were sheltered in the forests of Selac and Kozmatica. They
are in a very grave situation due to the lack of medicine, food and clothing.
In the village of Reka, Serbian police broke into and demolished the houses
of Izet (60) and Vehbi Sherif Syla (51), Enver Zymer Syla (35), Bedri Smajl
Syla (51), Avni (41) and Gani Nail Syla (54), Rasim (62) and Qazim Aziz
Syla (54), Sabri Musa Syla (50) and Shahin Halim Syla (36).
VUSHTRRI: Serbian military forces in Frashër
near Mitrovica took their positions towards the villages of Pantina, Okrashtica
and Oshlan.
RAHOVEC: According to information from the Sub-CDHRF
in Rahovec, the following were killed in Denja on September 4: the wife
of Gazmend Bytyçi (28) and her 12-year-old daughter; Sevdije F.
Hoti (26) and her 3-year-old son; the daughter (17) of Muharrem Sadri Bytyçi;
Muharrem Xhelë Bytyçi (60) and Ali Xhelë Bytyçi
(64) - all from Denja. The following were wounded: Avni Ali Bytyçi
(23), Nexhmedin Murat Bytyçi (65), Selman Jemin Bytyçi (47),
Mersije Luan Bytyçi (25) with her 7-year-old son, Fahredin Abdyl
Bytyçi (70) with his sons Ruzhdi (23) and Adi (26), Sulltane Fahredin
Bytyçi (55), Shemsije Sadedin Bytyçi (20) and Asllan Avdi
Berisha with 7 members of his family - all from Denja. It is believed that
at least 60 people were wounded. For a month now, an unidentified corpse
is left unburied in the outskirts of Bellacërka (Rahovec). Since August
26, the whereabouts of Skënder Jahë Kastrati (34) from Malësia
e Vogël, who was kidnapped in Bellacërka, are unknown.
KËRÇOVA: Beqir Limani (1951) from
Kërçova, a father of 4, was killed in his house by the Macedonian
police. Two students of the University of Tetova were arrested.
SEPTEMBER 20:
PODUJEVA: After the Serb offensive on the villages
of the Llapi region, the corpses of those, killed, mutilated or burned
beyond recognition, were found. The following were killed in Dobratin:
Nazmi Zhegrova from Zhegrova, Bekim Lushaku and Habib Zeka from Podujeva,
Bekim Maliqi from Batllava and Fadil Sejdiu from Bradash - KLA members,
as well as another unidentified civilian. 7 corpses, burned beyond recognition,
were found in Bajçina. Two of them were identified later. They are
Rrahim Kadri Lepaja (30) and Beqir Xhafer Lepaja (28), both from Bajçina.
There are no information on the whereabouts of
Ejup Idrizi, Xhafer Ajvazi and Haki Rekaliu (wounded) - all from Dobratin.
The houses of: Adem and Imer Lutfiu; Xhemajl Baliu; Bajram Kadriu; Ruzhdi,
Hysen, Qerim, Hamit and Musë Rekaliu; Osman, Naman, Rrahman and Jahir
Xhemajli; Feriz Imeri; Rexhep and Osman Avdiu; Esat Hajrullahu and Ahmet
?, were burned in Dobratin. The houses in the Musaj, Beqiraj, Istrefaj
and Mehmetaj quarters in Bajçina were burned.
MITROVICA: During the Serb offensive on the villages
of Shala e Bajgorës the following were killed: Januz Deli Shala (95)
from Vidishiq, Ilaz Bali Hyseni (85), Mihane Ramë Hyseni (80), Elez
Elez Begu (60) and Jashar Fetah Hyseni (36) from Kaçanoll. Ramadan
Sefer Hyseni (50) from Kaçanoll was reported missing. Nurije Baliu
(92), Hidajete Baliu (24) and Shemsi Baliu (18) from Vidishiq were wounded.
There are no information on the whereabouts of Hafije Shala (80), Hajriz
Shala (75), Brahim Shala (70) and Avdyl Bajram Isufi (65) from Vidishiq
and Ukshin Ferati (39) from Banja, mentally ill. In Kaçanoll, the
houses of the following were burned: Ilaz, Sefer, Bilall, Idriz, Selman,
Fazli, Ruzhdi and Rrahman Hyseni; Jakup, Shefqet, Ahmet and Ramadan Behrami;
Zeqir and Elez Begu. It is supposed that the number of the killed and wounded
is much higher.
DEÇAN: In the early hours of the morning,
Florije Elez Kamaj (1964), Cenë Mehmet Çelaj (1973) and Naser
Ramë Bajrami (1986) were killed in the mountains near Strellc. Shyhrete
and Vjollca Smajl Bajramaj were wounded. Elez Kamaj, Hasan and Ajmone Hoxhaj,
Sofe Bajramaj and Isuf Demush Kurtalaj from Strellc were physically ill-treated.
Many heads of cattle were killed and many mountain huts were burned.
KLINA: The daughters of Xhemail Dragidella from
Gremnik (aged 8 and 12) were wounded in Grabanica. Police opened fire on
the tractor with which they were returning to Kosuriq. Serbian forces burned
the house and the workshop of Haki Gashi in the vicinity of the "Nora"
motel near Klina.
PRIZREN: Serbian police and military forces burned
the villages of Kushnin and Romaja.
VUSHTRRI: Abedin Shaqir Ferizi (55) from Pasoma
died. He was wounded by the Serbian forces on September 17.
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian police and military forces
launched an attack on Prekaz i Epërm and Klina e Poshtme. Serbian
forces looted the Albanian houses in Makërmal. Xhezide Akrashtica
(50) was wounded in the village of Gllobar near Gllogoc.
DELAYED INFORMATION:
PODUJEVA: On September 5, Ismail Ademi (1940)
from Orllan was stopped in the village of Luzhan. He was physically ill-treated
by a policeman named Ristiq. On September 6, a police helicopter flew over
the villages in the region of Orllan and Lluzhan. On September 10, at the
place called "Tabet e Llapashticës", Serbian forces stopped Ali Potera.
He was physically ill-treated under the pretext of helping the KLA. In
the village of Kalatica, a police patrol stopped the Albanian truck drivers
who were transporting logs. Agron I. Ibishi (1972) and Lulzim B. Ibishi
(1977) from Kalatica and Bajram F. Statovci from Batllava were physically
ill-treated. Qerim Tërpeza, Raif Tërpeza and Ruzhdi Ibishi from
Kalatica and Hamit Zeka from Metërgoc were insulted and physically
ill-treated. On drinking in the "Gollak" cafe, Serb policemen went into
the house of Ismail Ademi and looted 10 l of oil. On September 11, there
was shooting from the military camp in Obrança.
LIPJAN: Since August 23, 120 houses were burned
in the village of Vërshec. The following were among those whose houses
were burned: Qerim, Xhevdet and Nazmi Vuniqi; Kadri, Muharrem, Xhemajl,
Isuf, Pajazit, Ramiz and Azem Duhlaku; Brahim, Naser, Ali, Elena, Osman,
Skender, Salih, Isuf, Aziz, Rexhep, Shaban, Selim, Xheladin, Mursel, Fadil,
Murtez, Gani and Elez Kastrati; Raif, Rashit, Ramadan, Sadik, Ahmet, Xhavit,
Mustafë, Hamdi, Hysni, Zeqir, Selim, Liman and Mehdi Nishori; Ali,
Agron and Fadil Çadraku; Hysni, Mehdi, Nebih, Banush, Vehbi, Shefki,
Fadil, Fazli and Mehmet Mëziu. In Qylaga, the houses of Osman Fazli
Bytyçi (1956), a professor, Sahit, Nebih, Kadri, Jakup, Ismet, Halil
and Xheladin Bytyçi were burned. On burning the Albanian houses
in Magura, Serb forces started burning the flats belonging to Albanians.
On September 7, Serbian forces burned the flats of Shefki Restelica and
Ace ?. On September 11, the very same was done to the flats of Raif Osmani
and Sabit Imer Rrustemi. On September 10, the house of Rexhep Karameta
was burned. On September 11, the very same was done to the houses of Fatmir
Rexha (1966), a worker; Ali, Bajram and Jahir Dulla; Hazir Qeriqi; Bajram,
Enver and Halim Meta (2 houses); Sadik Ramadani (2 houses); Nexhip Ukshini,
Kadri Kelmendi, Avdullah Berisha, Ramadan Bekteshi, Amërllah Amërllahu,
Nezir and Ramë Bardhi and Alush Kleqkani (2 houses). A total of 127
houses were burned in Shala near Lipjan, 120 in Vërshec, 90 in Baica,
46 in Leletiq, 16 in Risinoc, 8 in Qylaga, 5 in Kroimir and 3 in Mirena.
2 mills were burned in Poturoc.
PRIZREN: On September 9, Jovica Mitroviq, the
investigative judge with the Serbian run District Court in Prizren, initiated
the investigative proceedings against the following Albanians from the
district of Rahovec: Eshref Muharrem Hoti (1970), Tefik Shaban Hoti (1965),
Idriz Brahim Berisha (1966), Jakup Hazir Bytyçi (1961), Muharrem
Hajdar Bytyçi (1953), Muhedin Emin Bytyçi (1953), Samedin
Jemin Bytyçi (1951) from Denja; Malush Hamëz Morina (1950)
and Meriton Deli Krasniqi (1978) from Senovc; Ramiz Hasan Hajrullahu (1957),
Hazir Pajazit Beqiraj (1974), Hysen Avdi Beqiraj (1956), Blerim Ramadan
Zymeraj (1980), Osman Halil Fetahaj (1948), Muharrem Haxhi Mustafaj (1977)
and Ramadan Jemin Mustafa (1965) from Petkoviq; Hysni Adem Asllani (1959)
from Drenoc; Hamëz Xhafer Isakaj (1978) from Dabidol; Haxhi Ahmet
Ukaj from Radosta; Nevruz Salih Saçijani (1968) from Kramovik and
Naim Jemin Hoti (1966) from Ratkoc; Aziz Ramë Demaj (1970) from Shtusha
(Klina) and Isuf Murat Rrahmani (1960) from Panorc near Malisheva. They
were accused for "terrorism". On September 9, Kujtim Çarkaxhiu,
member of the board of the Albanian National Democratic Party, was arrested.
He was sent to 30 days of pre-trial detention.
FERIZAJ: On September 10, Serbian police arrested
Zylfi Begisholli (1963) from Manastirc, an activist of the LDK. Haxhi Bungun
and Ramadan Nuha from Nerodimja e Poshtme were physically ill-treated.
PEJA: On September 10, while a group of villagers
were returning to their houses, Serbian police stopped Hamid Halil Haklaj
(32) from Isniq and Xhavit Sutaj (38) from Lluka e Epërme. They were
immediately sent to the Peja prison.
KLINA: On September 11, Agim Duraku was arrested
and brutally beaten in the presence of his mother. Visar Zahir Duraku was
beaten in the presence of his family members.
FUSHË KOSOVA: On September 12, many Albanian
villagers from Miradia e Epërme, Miradia e Poshtme, Vragolia, Henc,
Halilaç, Sllatina e Madhe, Sllatina e Vogël, Bardh i Madh,
Bardh i Vogël and Pomozitin were summoned for informative talks. They
were asked to tell their fellow-villagers to hand in their weapons until
September 15.
