THE SERBIAN POLICE AND OTHER AUTHORITIES IN KOSOVA
FROM OCTOBER 4, UNTIL OCTOBER 11, 1998
OCTOBER 4:
PRISHTINA: Fresh Serb forces accompanied by tanks,
armoured cars and other military vehicles came to Kosova. Large police
forces were stationed in Likoc, Makërmal, Rezalla, Polluzha, Marina
and Polac. On the road between Peja and Deçan, check-points were
set up in Lubeniq, Strellc i Epërm, Lëbusha, Isniq and Carrabreg.
Police forces were settled in Isniq, Lluka e Epërme and Prapaqan.
There were large movements of police and military forces towards Shtime,
Malisheva, Klina and the other regions affected with war. Large military
forces were stationed in Veternik, Hajvalia, Matiçan, Gazimestan
and Bërnica near Prishtina; in Suhodoll near Lipjan; in Tabet e Llapashticës
near Podujeva, etc. Fresh police and military forces were stationed in
the districts of Ferizaj, Kaçanik and Shtërpca. Serb forces
opened artillery fire towards the villages in Shala e Bajgorës.
SUHAREKA: Bafti Bajraktari (85) from Budakova
died in the Prizreni Hospital. He was wounded during the attack of the
Serbian forces on this region. The corpse of Ali Kermeni (74) from Bllaca
was found. He had been reported missing for the last 3 weeks. A police
convoy headed towards Reçan and Duhla.
GJAKOVA: The corpse of Nesret Hamzë Bytyçi
(13) was found in a forest near Rogova. He had been reported missing for
more than a month. Large police and military forces are stationed at this
spot.
DEÇAN: In Prejlep, Serbian police and
military forces killed Sylë Pajazit Qufaj (1922), a farmer.
MITROVICA: At 8 p.m., in Frashër i Madh,
Serb civilians burned the houses of Kamer and Enver Rrustem Rexhepi, Fadil
Hetem Rexhepi and Rexhep Fetah Rexhepi. Many haystacks were burned too.
PODUJEVA: Large police and military forces arrived
in Kosova and headed towards Prishtina. At the check-point in the vicinity
of the "Besiana" motel, police stopped and physically ill-treated Bujar
Shala and Nazmi Surkishi from Podujeva under the pretext that they are
members of the KLA.
FERIZAJ: Isuf Istrefi (1949) was arrested and
physically ill-treated at the police stations in Shtërpce and Ferizaj.
3 Serb civilians opened fire towards the "Jeronim De Rada" Primary School
in Ferizaj.
VUSHTRRI: A police patrol stopped Ragip Mulaku,
a researcher with the Albanological Institute in Prishtina. He was provoked,
insulted and ill-treated in the presence of his wife and his 7-year-old
son.
PRISHTINA: Jehona Uka (1988), a pupil with the
"Elena Gjika" Primary School, stated to the CDHRF, that she and a group
of 15 Albanian children were forced into a police van and taken to the
police station. They were provoked and physically ill-treated.
OCTOBER 5:
MALISHEVA: At 8.30 p.m., Serb forces started shelling
Vërmica. Today, the Serb forces launched an attack on the villages
of: Burim, Gurbardh, Dragobil and Maxhara. The following were wounded due
to shelling: Hajrije Hamdi Gashi (19), pregnant, and Ismajl Alush Gashi
(17) from Vërmica; and Latif Karaçica (44) from Balinca. The
mutilated corpses of Hazir Osman Maloku and Kajtaz Sylë Maloku, as
well as that of an unidentified person were found in the forests of Plloçica.
The corpse of Rizah Maloku was found in a haystack. The Sub-Council in
Malisheva sent the list of the Albanians killed during the last 3 months.
The corpses of the following were found: on July 23, Hamdi Berisha from
Gurbardh; on July 25, Afrim Krasniqi from Lladroviq and Liman Zogaj from
Fshati i Ri; on July 26, Afrim Buqaj from Lladrovc; on July 28, Demush
Krasniqi and Jashar Sherif Krasniqi from Tërpeza e Poshtme, Ramadan
Selman Hoti from Carralluka and Nebih Thaçi from Shkarashniku; on
August 24, Sadri Ramadan Gashi from Vërmica; on August 28, Zade Hasan
Karaçica (66) from Bellanica, Elvane Skënder Shala (35), Valentin
Skënder Shala (10) and Xhafer Fadil Shala (10 months) from Banja and
Vezire Smajl Zullfaj (45) from Senik. The following were killed on September
1, Skënder Jonuzaj (30) from Senik, Kujtim Rifat Morina (13) and Sadik
Osman Morina (60) from Ostrozub and Nuhi Zejnullah Mazreku (39) from Goriq.
Hasan Beqë Morina (22) from the village of Drenoc was killed on September
25.
VUSHTRRI: According to the Sub-Council in Vushtrria,
the following Albanians were killed between September 22-24, during the
Serb offensive on the villages of Çiçavica: Fitore Klinaku
(12), killed by a grenade, Zyma Saraçi (80) and Emin Jashanica (87),
carbonized - from Bivolak; Lutfi (65), Selatin (28), Halit (40) and Hamit
Hyseni (41), Idriz Mehmeti (83), Kada Mani (70) and her son Milazim (36)
and Asllan Sheremeti (70) - from Oshlan and Hysen Murati (70) and Ismet
Zherenica (60) from Balinca and Rrustem Gashi from Ujmir near Klina.
MITROVICA: The corpse of Bahrije Asllan Nuha
(30) from Melenica near Shala e Bajgorës, was found in Zabërgja.
PRIZREN: The Serbian run District Court in Prizren
initiated the investigative proceedings against the following Albanians
from the district of Suhareka: Hajrullah Bislim Çerkinaj (1955),
Ferit Arif Haziri (1962), Ukë Tahir Ndrecaj (1968), Arsim Hysen Gashi
(1971), Nazim Eqrem Zenelaj (1964), Fatmir Sadri Kokollari (1966) -from
Savrova; Azem Gani Ndrecaj (1976) and Rexhep Sinan Aliaj (1962) - from
Maqiteva; Gani Rexhep Iballi (1951) from Bllaca, Sherif Shaban Hamza (1958)
from Mushtisht, Zaim Ramadan Çatani (1976) from Duhla; Rexhep Sinan
Aliaj (1962) from Prizren; Hajrullah Jetullah Krasniqi (1949), Sahit Fejzë
Krasniqi (1943), Nexhat (1941), Ramadan Shaqir Kokollari (1972), Xhavit
Ahmet Krasniqi (1959), Zenel Shaban Zenelaj (1962), Bajram Shaqir Bajraj,

Nezir Elshani (1969) and Nezir Adem Elshani (1980) - from Sllapuzhan; Jemin
Ramë Bajraktari (1959) and Ahmet Elez Buzhala (1966) - from Budakova;
Nebih Ilaz Kabashi (1939) and Arif Bali Kabashi (1961) - from Krushica;
Gani Hajriz Trashani (1953) and Ahmet Zenel Reshani (1960) from Grejçec;
Agron Ahmet Zekolli (1976) from Bllaca; Bajram Ramadan Sopaj (1967) from
Peqan; Nesim Jakup Morina (1955) from Reshtan; Halil Avdyl Aliaj (1966)
from Maqiteva; Naim Eqrem Bytyçi (1966) from Studençan; Agron
Haxhi Përteshi (1978) from Duhla and Milaim Beqir Kabashi (1976) from
Suhareka; Xhavit Salih Kolgeci (1974), Milazim Bajram Kolgeci (1961), Sadik
Brahim Kolgeci (1955) and Fatmir Shefki Berisha (1963) - from Vraniq; Beqir
Hazir Perteshi (1952), Xhevdet Sokol Shukoli (1974), Abaz Halil Shukoli
(1952) and Maliq Latif Shukoli (1976) - from Duhla; Asllan Malush Lumi
(1953), Shaban Malush Lumi (1945) and Rasim Hamit Gurazi (1943) - from
Bllaca; Arben Ramadan Morina (1979) from Reshtan and Arsim Mexhit Ziba
(1975) from Bukoshi. The above mentioned were indicted for "hostile activity"
and "terrorism" and were sent to 30 days of pre-trial detention.
Since the beginning of March, the very same court
conducted investigations for "hostile activity" and "terrorism" against
a total of 314 Albanians. The investigative proceedings were initiated
against: Bujar Tahir Hasanaj (1981) from Savrova, Xhavit Hamëz Loshi
(1981) from Vraniq, Safet Sefedin Lushaj (1981) from Grejkoc and Xhevat
Azem Kabashi (1982) from Muhlan. The above mentioned are in pre-trial detention
since September 28.
GLLOGOC: Serbian forces shelled towards Abria.
KLA units resisted fiercely and prevented the Serb infantry from overrunning
the village. Since September 27, many Albanian citizens from the district
of Gllogoc are being kept in detention. On being ill-treated at the police
station in Gllogoc, they were taken to the Prishtina Prison. The following
are some of those who were detained in "Gryka e Elshanit": Bajram (1968)
and Fehmi Kiqina; Faik, Isa and Fadil Topalli; Dan Brahim Leku (50), Bahri
(1975), Musli (1966), Agim (1972), Brahim (1968) and Gani Leku (1981),
a pupil; Zejnullah Elshani (1965), Haki Elshani (1967), a farmer and Arton
Rama (20) - from Baica; Abdullah Murat Shala (32) from Vuçak and
Rizah Halim Krasniqi from Negroc.
OBILIQ: In Grabovc i Epërm, Serb forces
burned several objects owned by Xhemajl Shaban Mjekiqi. Serb forces burned
the cattle fodder owned by brothers Zenel and Nazmi Mjekiqi. Fire was opened
towards the Hajredini quarter in Grabovc i Epërm. Serb forces tried
to overrun the village but encountered strong resistance from the local
villagers. The villages of Grabovc i Epërm, Shipitulla, Sibovc, Lajthishta
and Hamidia are under the siege of the Serbian forces. All movement is
supervised by Serb snipers.
PRISHTINA: Sylejman Kllokoqi, a cameraman with
foreign TV stations, was taken for informative talks and physically ill-treated
in the premises of the Security Center in Prishtina. 3 Serb civilians usurped
the flat owned by Qazim Berisha (1947), an economist, living in "Gjura
Jakshiq" st. 1/7.
LIPJAN: In Gadime, Serbian police asked for the
list of the displaced people from Drenica who had sought shelter in this
village.
OCTOBER 6:
SUHAREKA: During the recent Serb offensive, Besim
Ahmet Ndrecaj (29) from the village of Maqiteva was captivated. On being
brutally tortured at the police station, he was hospitalized in Prizren.
In Budakova, the mutilated and carbonized corpse of Mursel Hajrullah Buçaj
(64) was found.
Thousands of displaced people from the villages
of Suhareka have sought shelter in the Topilla and Llanishti valleys, and
in the vicinity of the villages of Çadrak, Budakova and Vërshec.
They are facing the cold, lack of food, medicine and of other necessities.
SKËNDERAJ: Today we were informed that on
September 24, Serb forces killed Naim Haxhiu (26) from Tërnavc and
Hamit Kodra (70) from Prekaz i Poshtëm. There was shooting and shelling
towards the villages of Likoc, Makërmal, Rezalla and Polluzha. The
burning of the remaining houses in the above mentioned villages continues.
The information transmitted by the Serb media, on the withdrawal of the
Serb forces, is not true. These forces were concentrated in Likoc, Makërmal,
Marina, Polluzha, Polac, Rezalla, Llausha and Açareva.
KLINA: Zemrije Bacaliu (48) from Kijeva, a mother
of six, died due to the cold. She had left her village fleeing from the
Serb terror. PRIZREN: On receiving an ultimatum to hand in their weapons,
30 Albanian families from the region of Has (some 300 members) were forced
to flee through the Pashtriku mountains and to seek shelter in Albania.
Elmi Gashi (45) and his son Valdet Gashi (1979), living in "Ulqini" st.
207, were arrested for weapons. The Serbian run District Court in Prizren
sent the following to 30 days of pre-trial detention: Shani Bajraktari
and Zijadin Berisha from Polluzha near Rahovec; Ukë Brahim Thaçi
from Sallagrazhda and Gëzim and Bekim Ziba from Bukosh near Suhareka.
SHTIME: A military convoy comprised of 16 tanks,
8 trucks and 6 other military vehicles left Shtime and headed towards Duhla
near Suhareka. The villagers who were displaced from Mullopolc, Dremjak,
Krushica, Muhlan and Duhla are in danger from the mine fields in their
vicinity. Serb snipers, tanks and artillery were stationed in Gryka e Carralevës.
Serb forces were stationed in Qafa e Duhlës, Fusha e Nerodimës
and in the vicinity of the transmitter in Jezerc.
VUSHTRRI: In the village of Strovc, Xajë
Jashari (1955) is in a very bad health condition. It is supposed that he
drank water from a well poisoned by the Serb forces.
LIPJAN: Serbian police intervened in the policlinic
of the "Mother Theresa" Humanitarian & Charitable Association and asked
for the list of patients. They wanted to see if any wounded Albanians were
treated there. At the check-point in Shala, Serbian police ill-treated
Banush Hoxha and Shpejtim Shanolli.
KAMENICA: Serbian police arrested Limon Sopi
from Bllata and Baki Ilaz Kastrati from Karaçeva.
MITROVICA: In Shipol, the following were arrested
and sent to 30 days of pre-trial detention: Avdyl Hamit Sejdiu (32), a
student, Ejup Hamit Sejdiu (20) and Rifat Sali Hasani (30) from Pantina
near Vushtrria. All 3 were sheltered with their families in the village
of Suhodoll near Mitrovica. Imer Bislim Haziri (30) from Llausha near Skënderaj
is kept in detention. 2 military trucks full of goods looted from the vacant
Albanian houses arrived in Mitrovica.
OBILIQ: The school year has not commenced in
the villages of Grabovc i Epërm and Shipitulla. Serb forces were stationed
in the premises of the local schools. The following Serbs were noticed
looting the Albanian houses: Sima Spasiq, Slagjan Janiqijeviq, Stanko Ristiq
and his sons, Moma Spasiq, etc.
OCTOBER 7:
MALISHEVA: During the last 2 days, Serb forces
shelled the villages of Dragobil, Ostrozub, Maxhara and Burim. The mutilated
corpses of Ajet Milazim Maloku (49) and Bajram Xhemë Gashi (25) were
found in the forests of Plloçica. In the forests between Rixheva
and Plloçica, the mutilated corpses of the following were found:
Pajazit Veselaj, Bali Veselaj (65) and his son, Ramiz Sokol Veselaj (46),
Driton Hasanaj, Idriz Morina and Fejzë Bala from Gllareva near Klina.
The corpse of Sherif Sahit Hoti (60) was found in the vineyards of Carralluka.
SUHAREKA: The corpse of Hasan Sherif Kokollari
(83) was found in his houseyard in the village of Budakova.
MITROVICA: Çlirimtar Sheremet Beqiri (a
4-month-old baby) from the village of Baks near Skënderaj died in
the children's ward of the Mitrovica Hospital. He and his family had spent
some time in the open in the mountains of Çiçavica. His twin
sister Çlirimtarja and their mother Menduhija are also in a very
bad health condition.
Serbian forces stationed in Kutllovc and Stantërg
shelled the villages of Shala e Bajgorës. Burim Sylejman Mehmeti,
living in the "Bair" quarter, was stopped and beaten by the police. 3 boxes
of cigarettes were seized from him.
GLLOGOC: The day the Serb forces massacred the
Deliu family, 4 children from this family, aged between 1-3, were brought
to the house of Shaban Hysenaj. Police handed the children to Shehide Hysenaj.
The feet of the children were bleeding as the Serb forces had used knives
to draw crosses on them.
On September 27, 25 Albanians were arrested in
the Hysenaj quarter in Abria e Epërme. Ramadan (1955), Fitim (14),
Xhafer (1952), Astrit (13) and Jakup Hysenaj were among the arrested. They
were taken to Likoc and brutally beaten. Later on, many were released in
a deteriorated health condition. Ramadan and Jakup are still under arrest.
SKËNDERAJ: There was shooting and shelling
towards the villages of Likoc, Makërmal, Rezalla, Polluzha and Açareva.
SHTIME: The Serb forces stationed in Gryka e
Carralevës opened artillery fire towards the villages of Ranca and
Topilla (Shtime) as well as that of Grejçec near Suhareka. The Serb
forces have not withdrawn but have hidden their heavy weaponry.
PRISHTINA: The children of Xhemajl Karaxha from
Çikatova e Vjetër, Liridona (14), Adelina (12), Besart (11),
Arlinda (4) and Qëndrim (3) were found in the vicinity of the green
market. 2 cousins of theirs were killed by the Serbian forces.
Enver Maloku, person in charge with the KIC,
was stopped by the police. He was detained for more 3 hours. Different
materials were seized from him.
2 Serb soldiers intervened in the premises of
the primary school in Hajvalia, in which Xhevdet Gjikokaj, a teacher, and
his family live.
According to Myrvete Kasumi (1953), his brother
M.A. Ukshin Hoti was transferred from the prison in Nish to the prison
in Mitrovica e Sremit.
Drita Ibishi was ordered to leave her flat under
the pretext that her husband Nuredin Ibishi does not recognize the state
of Serbia.
VITI: Marko Radenkoviq, a forester, tried to
set fire to the motorcycle owned by Sadik Ajvazi. The 2 are colleagues
and work with the Forest Economy in Vitia. As the latter intervened Marko
shot towards him.
PRIZREN: Since the beginning of this week, the
lessons are not conducted in the primary school in Gërnçar
due to threats made by Lubisha Stefanoviq, the district mayor, that the
lessons must be held in Serbian. Serb inspectors seized 400 m3 of timber
from Albanian villagers.
OCTOBER 8:
KLINA: During the recent offensive of the Serbian
forces, the following were killed: Milazim Musli Balaj (29) and Sylë
Balaj (35) from Gllareva; as well as the son of Musa Krasniqi from Stapanica.
Nebi Rrusta and Sali Jakupaj were wounded. The following were arrested:
Fazli Gashi (49) from Qabiq, Hasan Morina from Rixheva, Qamil (28) and
Abedin Berisha (40) from Gjurgjevik i Madh, as well as Ukë Morina
(40) and Xhevdet Berisha from Volljaka. The corpses of: Idriz Halil Balaj
(45), mutilated, Remzi Sokol Veselaj (41) and Shaip Sali Morina (18) were
buried in Gllareva.
GJAKOVA: In the vicinity of the village of Prush,
Serb forces killed Blerim Haxhi Berisha (15) from Gjakova. Blerim, his
father and his brother went there to collect firewood.
Military forces ordered the villagers of Zylfaj
not to leave their houses between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m.
At 7 a.m., Serbian police and military forces
intervened in the village of Janosh. They opened fire towards the houses
of Pjetër and Ali Geci in Novosella e Poshtme. Later on, they raided
the houses, demolished house furniture and looted all valuables. Ali was
brutally beaten. Ali and his brother, as well as Rasim Hajdari from the
village of Hereç were arrested. Rasim and his family were sheltered
in the house of Ali.
Serb military forces were stationed in the "Modeli"
Combine and in the vicinity of the Tile-Works Factory. The Albanian watchmen
of these 2 factories were dismissed from work.
MALISHEVA: Serbian forces opened mortar fire
towards the villages of Maxhara, Dragobil, Maralia, Shkoza and Jançiq.
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian forces used heavy weaponry
to shell towards Plluzhina, Tica, Abria and several quarters of Likoc and
Rezalla.
FUSHË KOSOVA: In Sllatina, Serb forces were
stationed in the vacant Albanian houses. These forces usurped a private
policlinic, in front of which they put a sign of the Red Cross.
OBILIQ: At 11 a.m., war planes flew over Obiliq
and its surrounding villages. Shooting can be heard from the Serb positions
in "Kërshat" near Grabovc. Due to the shooting many displaced people
fear to return to their houses.
PODUJEVA: At 7.30 a.m., 3 buses full of policemen
accompanied by armoured cars, arrived in Kosova.
PEJA: The district attorney's office initiated
the investigative proceedings against Metë Çufaj, Ibër,
Xhevat, Avni and Xhafer Krasniqi from Vranoc; Vesel Vezari from Zllopek;
and Reshat Suka from Peja. The above mentioned are accused for "terrorism".
During the last 3 days, many Serbs, Montenegrins and Romanies, aged between
17 and 60, were drafted. They were given arms and uniforms.
KAMENICA: Last night, there was shooting from
fire weapons. The Serbian run District Court initiated proceedings against
M.A. Refik N. Kryeziu, member of the Economic Commission of the LDK branch
in Kamenica, and dr. Fahredin Kryeziu, member of the board of the LDK branch
in Rogoçica. The 2 were arrested in August. Their houses were raided
and large amounts of drugs were seized.
PRIZREN: 4 buses and 16 trucks headed towards
the region on the border with Albania. Serb forces were stationed in Landovica,
Dubrava and Glloboçica.
PRISHTINA: Some 50 policemen surrounded, raided
and demolished the house of Islam Moshica. His 3 sons were taken hostage.
GJILAN: The Serbian run District Court sentenced
the following pupils to prison terms: Abaz Beqiri (1979) from Sllatina
e Epërme near Vitia was sentenced to 4 years; Besnik Ismajli (1979)
from Gjilan to 3 and a half; and Lulzim Osmani (1980) to 2 years.
OCTOBER 9:
SUHAREKA: Due to the very difficult living conditions
of the people who had to flee their houses, Rrahman Muhamet Bytyçi
(3) died in Shiroka. The new-born-baby of Milazim and Mihrije Halitaj from
the village of Senik died in Kërvasar, due to the lack of medical
assistance. The health condition of the displaced people is deteriorating
due to the cold weather, lack of food and medicine. Serbian forces accompanied
by an armoured car went to the village of Budakova. The villagers who had
returned to their houses were ill-treated. Sherif Hasan Buzhala (58) suffered
a heart attack and died to being ill-treated. Gani Sallauka (29) from Budakova
and Arif Daka (27) from Vërshec were arrested by the police. During
the last 2 days, Serbian forces set a check-point on the cross-road between
the villages of Reshtan, Semetishta and Studençan. Passers-by are
checked and physically ill-treated.
GLLOGOC: Last night, there were fierce clashes
between the KLA and the Serb forces stationed in Tërstenik and the
Kastrati quarter in Polluzha. The displaced people, who were sheltered
between the villages of Tërdec and Vuçak, are in a very grave
position. In Çikatova e Re, Zylfije Saradaku (1922) from Likoshan,
died due to the difficult living conditions in the open. During the recent
offensive of the Serbian forces her house had been burned.
2 days after the massacre on the Deliu family,
Sherif Deliu was wounded. Ever since there are no information on his whereabouts.
VITI: In Prishtina, Serbian police stopped Vehbi
Rama (1967) from Vitia, "4 Korriku" st. 20. He was provoked and beaten
for more than 2 hours. DM 300 were seized from him.
SHTIME: During the last 2 days, Serbian police
and military forces opened fire towards the villages of Godanc i Poshtëm,
Lagja e Pajtimit, Reçak, Belinca and Petrova. The village of Jezerc
was shelled.
MITROVICA: 3 military trucks headed for Skënderaj.
In the "Tavnik" quarter, police raided the houses of Rexhep Elez Begu (67)
and Sokol Rexhep Begu (40). Sokol's son Fitim (17) was arrested. Serbian
police and military forces stationed at the check-point in Shipol shelled
towards Vaganica. The house of Rexhep Hashim Sahiti (58) was hit.
VUSHTRRI: Serbian paramilitary forces stationed
in the village of Frashër machine gunned Pantina. A small number of
villagers, who had returned to their houses fled to the mountains.
PRIZREN: Military convoys headed for Gjakova
and the villages on the border with Albania, Gorozhub, Konjush, Nashec,
Mazrek, Planeja, Milaj and Dobrusha. In Vërbica, military forces are
being stationed in private houses.
PRISHTINA: In the valleys near Butovc, many tanks,
armoured cars, heavy artillery and rocket launchers were stationed. Serbian
police raided and demolished the house of Adem Cakolli in the "Kodra e
Trimave" quarter. His sons Skënder (30) and Bekim (27) were arrested.
Serbian police raided the flat of Shaban R. Gërbeshi (44), a driver,
living in the "Aktash" III quarter 8 II/6. He was arrested under the pretext
of being a member of the KLA. In the "Bregu i Diellit" quarter, Serbian
police arrested Qamile Haliti (21). She was interrogated on the whereabouts
of her employer.
HANI I ELEZIT: A mine exploded in the village
of Dremjak.
OCTOBER 10:
MITROVICA: 18 lorries, armoured cars, jeeps and
other vehicles from Mitrovica headed for Skënderaj. Police are ill-treating
and arresting youngsters in quarters "Tavnik", "Ura e Gjakut", "Bair",
"Qendra" and "Shipol".
FERIZAJ: There are no information on the whereabouts
of over a thousand Albanians, who are surrounded by Serbian forces in the
mountains of Jezerc.
PODUJEVA: Serbian military forces were stationed
in Prepellac near Podujeva, in the territory of Serbia, on the border with
Kosova.
VUSHTRRI: Sabri (29) and Avni Krasniqi (23) from
Zhilivoda and Rizah Sulejmani (48) from Oshlan were arrested and subjected
to severe ill-treatment by the Serbian police.
OCTOBER 11:
SKËNDERAJ: Last night, Serb forces opened
fire in different directions. In Makërmal, several houses are on fire,
whereas in Tërstenik there is sporadic shooting. In Gllobar near Gllogoc,
Serbian police prevented two teams of foreign journalists from going further.
Emine Kurtaj (1962) from Açareva, sheltered in Tërstenik, died
after she had given birth to her child. Her newly-born baby survived. Rahime
Liman Brahimi (30), mother of 4, from Plluzhina, sheltered in Tërdec,
died due to difficult living conditions. She and her family were living
under a plastic sheet shelter.
MALISHEVA: Serbian military forces were stationed
in Sverka e Gashit. In Bubavec and Plloçica, Serbian forces looted
and burned all Albanians' houses. In Volljaka mine, Serbian forces raised
the Albanian flag in order to provoke the Albanians.
KLINA: Serbian forces restarted to burn Albanian
houses in Cerovik today at 2.00 p.m.
SHTIME: Serbian forces, stationed in Kodra e
Buçes and in Bukogllava, opened fire towards Jezerc, where the Albanian
population had returned to the ruins of their houses.
DELAYED INFORMATION:
LIPJAN: On September 2, in the village of Magura,
Serbian police and paramilitary forces looted and burned the houses of
brothers Ramë and Jahir Bardhi (1976). A store, a fast food restaurant
and a car of theirs were burned.
PRIZREN: On September 13, in Lubizhda, Serbian
forces burned the house of Reshat Vehapi (1949). On September 30, he was
arrested and taken to the Security Center in Prizren. He was severely ill-treated
under the pretext of being a member of the KLA. He was released but ordered
to report to the police station on October 6. On September 29, Bashkim
Adem Mallaku (1964), a former guardian of the county jail in Prizren, was
detained for 24 hours.
On October 2, in Belgrade, police usurped the
flat of Ymer Thaçi (1945) from Prizren. Ymer, a worker with the
"Standard" enterprise in Belgrade, has been living there for the last 25
years. On August 28, police raided his flat, arrested him and detained
him for more than 18 hours. He was interrogated on his son, who is in the
prison of the Military Court in Nish, indicted for being a member of the
KLA. Police threatened to rape his 11-year-old daughter.
PEJA: On September 26, at the check-point in
Raushiq, police arrested Brahim Zekë Kukalaj (41) from Prejlep near
Deçan and Brahim Ukë Berisha (26) from Kryshec near Peja. The
very same day, Sherif Zeqir Krasniqi (18) from Baran was arrested. On September
28, Serbian police arrested Xhevat Berisha (19) from Volljaka near Klina.
On September 29, Shaban Binak Thaçi (41) from Raushiq was arrested.
On September 30, policeman Misho Qiroviq stopped Isuf Sadik Neziraj (55)
from Peja. He was interrogated on his neighbours and beaten. 4 sacks of
paprika were seized from him. On October 1, police arrested Hasan Sadriaj
(68) from Dashinoc. Nebojsha Vukeliq beat Bajram Latif Çallaku (61).
Bajram was beaten in his house yard, had 3 teeth broken and suffered severe
body injuries.
KLINA: On September 30, Gëzim Ali Bytyçi
(1983) from Carralluka was released from detention. According to him many
prisoners are being brutally tortured at the Prishtina Prison.
GLLOGOC: On September 30, the following were
arrested and severely ill-treated: Naim Krasniqi (1975), a journalist,
and Tefik, Halil and Naim Kelmendi - from Komoran. At the Security Center
in Ferizaj, DM 40 were looted from Naim. His camera was seized.
PRISHTINA: On September 28-30, Serb forces burned
many weekend houses owned by Albanians. In the village of Tërshenja,
the house of Arif Hoxha (1929), a craftsman from Prishtina, was burned.
In Jazhica, the house of dr. Agim Deva (1948), a professor with the Philological
Faculty in Prishtina, was looted and burned. In Shtërpce, the houses
of the following were burned: dr. Esat Rizvanolli (1936), a professor with
the Faculty of Arts, dr. Fuat Rizvanolli, a professor with the Faculty
of Economics, Fatmir Rizvanolli, an engineer, and Jusuf Jusufi - all from
Prishtina.
On October 1, Afrim Krasniqi (1978), living in
the "Lagja e Muhaxherëve" quarter, was dismissed from work by the
compulsive authorities of the "Higjieno-teknika" enterprise.
FERIZAJ: According to eye-witnesses, on September
29, Serbian forces arrested a group of 50-60 Albanians. The above mentioned
were arrested in the Verrishta quarter in Jezerc. Ever since there are
no information on their whereabouts.
On October 2, Serbian police arrested Emin Dugolli
from Pjetërshtica (Shtime), living in Ferizaj.
MITROVICA: On October 1, Serbian police broke
into the flat of Asllan Hajriz Xhafa (41), "K.P." st. 296/20. A Serb policeman
was settled in it.
GJILAN: On September 30, Xhevat Nevzati, Hetem
Arifi and Nazmi Rrapuca-activists with the "Mother Theresa" Humanitarian
& Charitable Association, were arrested under the pretext that they
had distributed humanitarian aid in the Drenica region. They were severely
ill-treated. After 4 days of detention they were released.
ISTOG: On October 3, at the check-point in Savina-Voda,
police physically ill-treated Afrim A. Cakutaj (20) from Kaliqan.
