ON THE WIDESPREAD REPRESSION AND HARASSMENT PERPETRATED BY THE SERBIAN POLICE AND OTHER AUTHORITIES IN KOSOVA FROM OCTOBER 18 UNTIL OCTOBER 25, 1998
OCTOBER 18:
GJAKOVA: The carbonized corpses of 2 unidentified
women, aged between 30-35, were brought to the morgue of the Gjakova Hospital.
It is supposed that the two were from the district of Deçan. At
the check-point in Medvegja, Serbian police arrested Ukë Mazreku from
Gjakova. Uka had been wounded on August 9, and was returning from the hospital
in Zemun, where he had been hospitalized.
GLLOGOC: Arsim Fazli Zymeri (20), a handicapped
person from Likoshan, died due to the cold, lack of food and medical assistance.
SKËNDERAJ: Serb snipers stationed at the
check-point in Rezalla killed Ali Muharrem Ahmeti (23). Ali had returned
to his house to take some clothing. Large movements of Serb military forces
were noticed in Drenica.
Yesterday, in Orllat, Serbian forces arrested
Driton Haliti (1981) from Açareva. He was detained for one night
and physically ill-treated.
FERIZAJ: There were large movements of Serbian
police and military forces towards Shtime, Gjilan and Kaçanik. A
convoy with 21 trucks, 11 tanks and 8 armored cars moved out of Ferizaj
and headed for Kaçanik.
LIPJAN: In the outskirts of Prishtina, 3 Serb
civilians physically ill-treated Halil Idrizi from Godanc. Halil suffered
body injuries and dinars 300 were looted from him. Serb policemen, who
witnessed the scene, did not intervene. In Magura, Hanefi Karpuzi (30)
from the village of Shala near Lipjan was taken out of the bus and physically
ill-treated for more than 4 hours. He was interrogated on the KLA and their
bases.
OCTOBER 19:
KLINA: The following names were added to the list
of the killed: Çajup Uka (19) from Zajm, killed on May 20; Feriz
Raci (75) from Siçeva, killed on July 30; Ramë Shala (60) from
Gjurgjevik i Madh, killed on September 24; Drilin Gllasaviku, a new-born-baby,
Osman Gashi (75) and Nife Merlaku (45) - all 3 from Gremnik, killed on
September 27; and Halim Sali Shala (75), who died on September 27, as an
aftermath of injuries suffered due to being tortured at the police station.
FERIZAJ: The carbonized corpse of Hamdi Rizah
Biba (1930) was found in the ruins of his burned house in the village of
Jezerc. Since September 27, he had been reported missing. Hamdi's son was
the first one to find the corpse. The victim's arm was cut.
While parading through the "Gjilani" st., a military
convoy (2 trucks and 3 tanks) damaged a park car. Serb forces, which had
already withdrawn from the place called "Bungaja" near Semaja were once
again stationed there.
VUSHTRRI: Serb authorities informed the Aliu
family in Pantina, that the corpse of Selman M. Aliu, who was killed on
September 24 in the vicinity of Sitnica, was buried in the village of Shupkoc.
The corpse of Shkëlzen Dobra from Kryshec and that of an unidentified
Albanian were buried at the very same place.
Last night, automatic fire could be heard in
the vicinity of the orthodox church in Vushtrria. Today, automatic fire
was heard in the vicinity of Novolan and Vërrnica.
MALISHEVA: Large police reinforcements arrived
in Malisheva, Dragobil and Carralluka. These units fortified their positions
in Malisheva, Kijeva, Bubavec, Balinca, Llazica, Plloçica, Gurbardh,
Drenoc, Carralluka, Shkorashnik, Dragobil, Astrazub and Banja. Serb forces
were stationed in the Albanian houses along the road. Last night, the 3-month-old
baby of Islam Krasniqi from Pagarusha, died due to the lack of medical
assistance. In Tërpeza, a 30-year-old woman and her 6-month-old child
were wounded due to shelling.
PRISHTINA: 80 vehicles left the military barracks
in Prishtina and headed towards the village of Komoran near Gllogoc. Military
forces mined the Germia resort in the vicinity of Prishtina.
PODUJEVA: A Serb convoy with 23 trucks and 47
tanks moved into Podujeva and was stationed in Tabet e Llapashticës
and Obrança.
PEJA: Demë Ali Gashi from the village of
Raushiq, who was earlier reported as killed, is in detention in the prison
in Lipjan. The following are in detention under the charge of "terrorism":
Çaush Shaban Selca (55) from Baran, Idriz Niman Zhutaj (46) from
Raushiq, Bajram Mustafë Gashi (43) from Baran, Ylber Ali Dizdari (23)
from Kosuriq and Haxhi Ymer Bajraktaraj (61) from Isniq-Deçan.
Serbian police and military forces are not withdrawing
from their positions. In Lubeniq and in the villages of Rugova, Serb weaponry
was camouflaged. More than 10.000 inhabitants of the villages of Rugova
are in a very grave situation. For the last 3 months they have been blocked
by the Serbian forces. In Graboc, Zyrafete Berisha, a mother of 4, and
her 80-year-old mother, are stuck in a barn. The houses of the following
were looted and burned: Idriz, Murtez, Esat and Sebiha Çaka; Bajram,
Smajl, Rexhep, Maxhun, Miftar, Metë, Misin, Kadri, Osman, Selman and
Hajdar Shala; Demë, Azem, Muhamet, Banush, Adem, Ramiz and Ismet Berisha;
Rexhë, Feriz and Dinë Haxhijaj; Rexhep, Isuf, Rrustem, Skënder,
Azem and Nezir Kelmendi; Gani, Mustafë, Bislim, Selman and Fadil Hoxha;
Istref, Sylë, Imer and Malë Krasniqi; Avdullah and Latif Hajdarpashiq;
Nezir and Hysen Gashi; Alo Petroviq and Adem Muriqi.
All Albanian citizens, who try to register their
vehicles, are taken to the Security Center in Peja, looted, beaten and
detained.
MITROVICA: In the vicinity of the bus station
in Mitrovica, 2 Serb soldiers, who were driving a military truck M-2100,
hit Valentina Kadri Vojvoda (13) from Llausha near Skënderaj, sheltered
in the "Ura e Gjakut" quarter in Mitrovica. The soldiers did not stop to
offer help to the injured girl. Valentina was hospitalized in Prishtina
in a deteriorated health condition. In the Mitrovica Hospital, Stojanka
Kostiq, a nurse, brutally beat and assaulted with scissors Sebahate Muja
from Kovaçica near Shala e Bajgorës, living in the "Ura e Gjakut"
quarter. The latter had given birth to a child. Last night, there was automatic
and machine gun fire in the "7 Shtatori", "Kroi i Vitakut", and "Kodra
e Minatorëve" quarters. 7 trucks and many other vehicles full of policemen
left Mitrovica and headed towards Skënderaj. A convoy comprised of
trucks full of looted goods from the villages of Drenica arrived from the
direction of Skënderaj.
VITI: Large military forces paraded through the
villages of Vitia. They were stationed in strategic positions between the
villages of Vërboc and Potgorc, in the vicinity of Gjylekarë,
in Çibica e Vogël and in Letnica. Bislim Bislimi from Drobesh,
who had been wounded and hospitalized in the Prishtina Hospital, was taken
by Serbian police inspectors.
KAÇANIK: Serb forces were stationed in
the village of Picrrak near Semaja. All weapons were pointed towards Kaçanik.
PRIZREN: The Serbian run District Court in Prizren
sentenced Shkëlzen Zllanoga to 3 years of imprisonment. He was accused
of "terrorism".
GJILAN: On October 14, in the vicinity of the
students restaurant in Prishtina, 2 Serb civilians stopped Driton Hajrullahu
(1977), a student from Përlepnica. His leather jacket was looted as
well as DM 40, SFR 10 and dinars 25. Today, Driton was stopped in the "Dragodani"
quarter in Prishtina. 7 Serb policemen physically ill-treated him.
OCTOBER 20:
KLINA: Serbian forces opened fire towards Albanian
villages. Veli Rrustë Krasniqi (75) from Përçeva died
due to the difficult living conditions among the displaced people. A gang
of armed Serbs looted and demolished the house dr. Ukë Berisha, chairman
of the "Mother Theresa" Humanitarian & Charitable Association. Police
prevented Albanian villagers from returning to Gllareva.
GLLOGOC: Last night, the Serb forces stationed
between Potërka and Krajkova shelled the villages in the Llapushniku
Gorge: Arllat, Negroc and Llapushnik. Serb forces were stationed in the
Haxhiaj quarter in Potërk, in the Thaçi and Lugu quarters in
Vukoc, in the premises of the primary school in Gjergjica e Arllatit (mortars),
and in the Bujupi, Gashi, Bytyçi, Hajdaraga, Sopjani and Vojvoda
quarters in Llapushnik (rocket launchers and heavy artillery). Mines were
laid around the Serb positions. Police looted the sheep belonging to Ali
Deliu from Abria e Epërme.
MITROVICA: Loud detonations were heard in the
villages of Shala e Bajgorës: Mazhiq, Rashan, Melenica, Trepçali
and Bare. Automatic fire was opened in the "Kroi i Vitakut" quarter. 50
policemen were stationed in this quarter.
LIPJAN: Yesterday, between the villages of Rufc
i Ri and Kraishta, Serbian police arrested Xhemshir (30), Hasan (23), Sokol
(21) and Demë Berisha (19) from Lladrovc near Malisheva.
PRIZREN: A vehicle full of military superiors
was stationed in the center of Hoça e Qytetit. They searched the
premises of the primary school in Hoça e Qytetit. Shukri Gashi,
the vice-principal, was interrogated on the curricula and insulted on a
national basis.
VITI: In Budrika, 4 Serb civilians stopped brothers
Kadri and Muharrem Zija Mustafa. The brothers were assaulted but they resisted
and managed to escape. Afterwards, large police forces arrived at this
place, arrested and physically ill-treated Bujar Mehmeti, owner of the
"Meda 92" shop, Bekim Shabani from Gjilan, Besim Brahim Aliu from Rremik
and Bekim Sherifi from Budrika. Policemen went to the house of Zija Mustafa
in the village of Budrika and told him to deliver his sons, who had fled
in the meantime. The perpetrators of the attack proved to be policemen
and stated that they were attacked by the Albanian "terrorists".
PODUJEVA: There were large movements of the Serbian
police and military forces at the places called Qershitë and Tabet
e Llapashticës, in Obrança and at the police check-point near
the "Besiana" Motel in Podujeva. Fresh police and military forces were
stationed in Lupç i Poshtëm, Kroi i Kulinës, in the vicinity
of the local mill, at the military depot in Vranidoll, in Lumëmadh,
in Llapashtica e Poshtme and Llapashtica e Epërme. Large military
forces were stationed in the village of Prepellac, on the border between
Kosova and Serbia. There are large movements in the town itself.
KAMENICA: 4 trucks full of soldiers paraded through
the town. A police check-point was set-up in the vicinity of Qafa e Koperrnicës.
PEJA: Serb forces have not withdrawn from Raushiq
and the nearby villages. Many villagers who are trying to return to their
homes are arrested and ill-treated. An Albanian villager, aged about 60,
was killed in Raushiq.
PRISHTINA: Since August 26, Hamdi Murat Hyseni
(1956) from the village of Prapashtica, principal with the "Afërdita"
Primary School in Dabishec, is being kept in detention. He was accused
of cooperating and financially supporting the KLA.
OCTOBER 21:
GLLOGOC: The Serb shelling continues. Another
victim of the Deliu family was found. The killed is Hajriz Fazli Deliu
(1964). His whereabouts were unknown since September 26, the day when the
other members of his family were killed. The corpse was found in a well
in the Deliaj quarter. The victim's corpse was mutilated, his throat was
cut and he was shot on his head from close range. His funeral was attended
by foreign journalists and local activists. In the village of Krajkova,
Nazife Sejdi Beqiri (60) from Açareva died due to the lack of medical
assistance. Nazife and her family had been sheltered in this village. Shqipe
Basri Elshani and Nazmije Bilall Elshani were arrested and detained at
the Security Center in Prishtina for more than 7 hours. They were accused
of being members of the KLA. Shqipe was physically ill-treated.
SUHAREKA: The carbonized corpse of Ruzhdi Ymer
Qatani (25) from Duhla was found. He was killed by the Serbian forces on
August 26. Serb paramilitaries cut his finger in order to take his ring.
Serb forces stationed in Budakova are preventing Albanian villagers from
returning to their homes. Many are physically ill-treated. The police check-point
in Krushica was not dismantled. Policemen were stationed in the vacant
Albanian houses and in 3 bunkers in "Gryka e Islamit" near Shiroka, in
the vicinity of the water reservoir in Suhareka and in the villages of
Reshtan, Samadraxha, Bllaca and Mohlan. Serbian civilians are looting building
material from the "Loni" private warehouse.
GJAKOVA: The corpse of an unidentified woman,
aged about 65, was taken to the morgue of the Gjakova Hospital. The corpse
was brought from the village of Voksh near Deçan. Serb forces stationed
in Suka e Biteshit opened fire towards the villages of Dushkaja and Deçan.
MITROVICA: Serb forces accompanied by 3 tanks
and 7 trucks full of soldiers headed towards Stantërg. 8 trucks, 2
"Niva" vehicles and one "Landrover" full of policemen arrived in Mitrovica
from the direction of Skënderaj. The "Landrover" was full of goods
looted from the vacant Albanian houses. Serb forces stationed at the military
basis in Kutlloc opened fire towards the villages of Mazhiq, Melenica,
Vidishiq and Trepçali.
A large convoy of military vehicles was stationed
in the facilities of the "Trepça" mine.
OBILIQ: Serb forces stationed at the place called
"Kërshat e Grabocit" are looting all valuables from the vacant Albanian
houses in Grabovc i Epërm and Grabovc i Poshtëm. All the houses
in the Abdylaj quarter in Graboc i Poshtëm were burned. Serb snipers
are opening fire on everything that moves.
FERIZAJ: Musli Sadik Avdyli (38) from Pleshina
was taken for informative talks to the Security Center in Ferizaj. In Fshati
i Vjetër, fire was opened on the bus full of passengers owned by Muharrem
Haxhidema from Manastirc.
PRISHTINA: Serbian police is ill-treating the
wounded Albanians hospitalized in the Hospital for Lung Diseases, including
the women and children hospitalized there as well as the medical staff.
OCTOBER 22:
GJAKOVA: At 4 a.m., in the vicinity of the village
of Gërçina e Hasit, near the border with Albania, Serb soldiers
killed 4 members of the Sylmetaj family. The following were killed: Ramiz
Hamëz Sylmetaj (28), Leonora Gani Sylmetaj (12), Muharrem Ramiz Sylmetaj
(6) and Mazllum Ramiz Sylmetaj (2). Ramiz's wife Ajshe Sylmetaj and another
member of this family were severely wounded. The Sylmetaj family had sought
shelter in Albania and was returning to their house.
The carbonized corpses of the 2 women, which
were brought to the morgue of the Gjakova Hospital were identified. The
victims are: Sherafete and Zize Tolaj from Pobërgja near Deçan.
In the early hours of the morning, fire shots
were heard in Gjakova and its surroundings. There was shooting in the Hasi
region and along the border with Albania.
SUHAREKA: On October 11, Rrustem Shala (23) from
Dobërdolan was killed in Padesh on the border with Albania. Serbian
police forces are still stationed in Bllaca, Reshtan, Samadraxha, Mohlan
and Krushica e Poshtme. They are preventing the Albanian villagers from
returning to their burned and destroyed houses. A police convoy arrived
in Budakova. Policemen are ill-treating those who try to return to their
homes. The following were arrested: Selim Selman Kadria (43), Ramadan Melit
Kabashi (1956), Emri Hafir Kodra (1979) and Refki Kryeziu (1959) from Krushica
e Epërme.
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian forces have not withdrawn
from their positions but were redeployed. In Polluzha, many tanks were
dug in. In Likoc, Serbian forces were stationed in the premises of the
"Emin Duraku" Primary School. 6 police check-points were set up along the
road Polluzhë-Likoc. Serbian police forces were stationed in 15 Albanian
houses in Makërmal and in 4 quarters in Likoc. Policemen are opening
fire on everything that moves. Many houses are burned. Furniture and live
stock are looted. Forests are cut. Timber is loaded on trucks and carried
to Mitrovica.
PODUJEVA: At 9 p.m., there was shooting at the
military base in Obrança. Military forces have not withdrawn, on
the contrary fresh reinforcements were brought. Military planes flew over
the region.
SHTIME: Shooting can be heard from different
directions. 14 tanks, 3 pieces of heavy artillery, 1 armoured car, 3 APCs,
8 trucks and 2 "Landrovers" were stationed in the Serb positions.
GJILAN: The Serbian run District Court in Gjilan
sentenced Ejup Salihu (1974) to a prison term of 5 years. He was accused
of "terrorism". Novica Stoilkoviq, the investigative judge with the District
Court in Gjilan, initiated the investigative proceedings against 26 Albanians
indicted of "hostile activity". The following were charged: Lutfi Haziri
(1969), Nexhat Bunjaku (1971), Ismet Hashani (1962), Ibrahim Oruçi
(1968), Ekrem Qerimi (1962) and Tajar Berisha (1954) - in pre-trial detention;
Naim Hasani (1958), Bekim Zylfiu (1969), Nehat Ibrahimi (1966), Fatmir
Salihu (1951), Skënder Bunjaku (1969), Fadil Kajtazi (1967), Naser
Latifi (1969), Shkëlzen Elmazi (1968), Naim Behluli (1968), Ali Jahiu
(1968), Avni Kamberi (1968), Nexhmedin Azizi (1968), Nazmi Musa (1951),
Nijazi Idrizi (1959), Ramiz Ramadani (1970), Sadik Berisha (1968), Xhevdet
Haziri (1959), Bujar Zymberi (1974), Gani Hidiqi (1964) and Rashit Ymeri
(1967) - in absentia - all from the district of Gjilan.
PRISHTINA: Serbian police stopped, physically
ill-treated and threatened Gani Morina (1955), a teacher with the Gymnasium
in Gllogoc, under the pretext that his brothers are members of the KLA.
In the vicinity of the military barracks in Jug-Bogdan,
3 policemen stopped Abdullah Latifi (1966). He was severely ill-treated.
DM. 120 and dinars 350 were looted from him.
PRIZREN: Serb military forces were stationed
in the Nasheci resort.
VUSHTRRI: In Plemetin, Serb soldiers arrested
12 Albanians, who were travelling by train. They were taken to an unknown
direction.
OCTOBER 23:
MALISHEVA: Serb forces were stationed in the vicinity
of the Mirusha waterfalls and at the place called Pishat e Volljakës.
Serb forces stationed at the police station between the villages of Carralluka
and Lladroc shelled the house of Arif Zogaj. Aze (33) and Sadbere Krasniqi
(50) from Carralluka were wounded. Osman S. Krasniqi (65) died due to being
tortured at the police station in Drenoc. Elmi Hasan Mazreku (35) from
Malisheva and a 2-week-old baby from Drenoc died due to the difficult living
conditions in the open and the lack of medical assistance.
MITROVICA: The unidentified corpse of a man aged
between 55-60 was found in the vicinity of the road connecting Vërrnica
and Lubavec. It is supposed that he was killed during the offensive of
the Serbian forces on the villages of Vaganica, Vërnica and Pirç.
5 trucks full of soldiers and military equipment
headed towards Skënderaj. 3 men stepped and were wounded by the land
mines laid by the Serbian forces. 16 police check-points were set-up between
Shipol and Rakosh. 4 APCs full of policemen left Mitrovica and were stationed
in Pirç.
GLLOGOC: Serbian police and military forces stationed
at the place called Kroni i Mbretit opened fire towards Vasileva. The locals
once again had to flee to the mountains. Large Serbian forces were stationed
at this place and in the poultry farm. There was shooting in Komoran and
in the Llapushniku Gorge. At the check-point in Gllogoc, Nazim Basri Kurti
(1967), a blind person, from Abria e Epërme was stopped and physically
ill-treated by the police. He had been to the Prishtina Hospital for a
medical check-up.
SUHAREKA: In Reshtan, Osman Gega (51) from Studençan
was stopped and ill-treated by the police. The following were arrested
in their houses in Leshan: Ramadan M Kabashi (1956), Emin H. Kodra (1979)
and Refki Kryeziu (1959).
PRIZREN: Military forces are being stationed
in the vacant Albanian houses in Planeja and Kushnin.
FERIZAJ: Neshat (1972) and Xhemajl Zeqiri (1969)
were arrested by the police. The latter was accused of being a member of
the KLA. Shaip Ismajl Musliu (1970), a seasonal worker with the Aluminum
Plant in Podgorica, and 3 friends of his were arrested in the vicinity
of Vushtrria.
FUSHË KOSOVA: A Serb paramilitary broke
the doors and the windows of the Primary School in Lismir. Haki Gjinovci
(55), a teacher, and Ejup Obërtinca (40), a worker with the above
mentioned school, were taken for informative talks. Serb civilians drew
graffiti on the walls of the shops owned by Albanians. An Albanian shop
was smashed.
PODUJEVA: Serb forces were redeployed from their
positions in Tabet e Llapashticës and headed towards Llapashtica e
Epërme, Llapashtica e Poshtme, the Muçiqi quarter, Bajçina
and Kërpimeh. Ferat Krasniqi (40) from Obrança was severely
ill-treated by the police. His father Abdullah Krasniqi (60) was ill-treated
too.
PEJA: Apart from the 2 police check-points in
Gllogjan, new police check-points were set-up in Kosuriq, Çallapek,
Kotradiq, Raushiq, Kryshec and Zllopek. The following were indicted by
the District Attorney's Office in Peja of being members of the KLA: Mujë
(30) and Sinan Tafilaj (24) from Siçeva near Klina, Hasan Imeraj
(26) from Cërkolez near Istog, Idriz Zhutaj (46) from Raushiq and
Bajram Gashi (43) from Baran i Poshtëm. Investigations are being carried
out against Tahir Pangja from the village of Kosuriq near Peja.
PRISHTINA: The following Albanian guardians were
dismissed from their jobs at the Municipality Prison in Prishtina: Enver
Gashi, Nexhat Sllamniku, Naxhije Shabani, Ramiz Pajaziti, Samedin Durmishi
and NN Hyseni.
GJILAN: Police raided and demolished the house
of Ramush Neziri. Habib Shala (1948) and his son Petrit Shala from the
village of Fushtica near Gllogoc, who were sheltered in Gjilan, were arrested.
OCTOBER 24:
GLLOGOC: Serb snipers killed Shemsi Rashit Buzaku
(11) from the village of Krajkova. Zymer Buzaku (17) was severely wounded.
The two were cutting wood in their forest near Kosmaq. Serb forces obstructed
the funeral of the killed by shooting towards the people who had gathered
there. Many local and foreign journalists were present.
GJAKOVA: In Krelan, the 3-month-old baby of Hysen
Fetahaj, the 2-year-old son of Shaban Zenunaj and a 2-year-old child died
due to the cold and the lack of medical assistance. Yesterday, Faze Aliaj
(60) died due to fatigue. She had been displaced from her house and had
wandered from one place to the other.
SUHAREKA: There were large movements of the Serbian
police and military troops towards the villages of Mushtisht and Vraniq.
MITROVICA: 3 trucks, 2 jeeps and an anti-aircraft
cannon left Mitrovica and headed towards Skënderaj. 4 APCs and 2 armoured
cars full of policemen headed towards Stantërg. An armoured car and
an APC left Stantërg and headed towards Bare. They were stationed
in the vicinity of the mosque in Mazhiq.
PODUJEVA: Since early in the morning, police
out-posts are checking vehicles and passers-by. Police out-posts are moving
between the villages of Dobratin, Kërpimeh, Repa, Pakashtica and Letonc.
These movements have caused new waves of displacement among the Albanian
villagers. War planes flew over Podujeva and its surroundings.
PEJA: In the Serbian run District Court in Peja,
the following were sentenced to prison terms: Gaspër M. Selmanaj (1966)
from Radullovc was sentenced to 5 years; Martin Gj. Zefaj (1979) from Ranoc
near Klina and Filip P. Pjetri (1969) from Polana near Istog to 2,5 years;
Arif X. Ahmeti (1939) from Batusha near Gjakova and Sadik A. Aradini (1975)
from Lubeniq near Peja to 2 years. The following Albanian citizens were
sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment each: Ramiz R. Memia (1968), Bujar
H. Sylaj (1978), Osman H. Kortoçi (1961), Ilir A. Kortoçi
(1961) and Avni B. Memia (1960) from Myhenaj near Tropoja. All the above
mentioned were accused of "hostile activity" and "terrorism".
LIPJAN: 2 APCs paraded through Dobraja e Madhe.
Policemen provoked the Albanian villagers and headed towards Ribari i Madh
and Kraishta.
OCTOBER 25:
MALISHEVA: Last night, Serbian forces opened fire
in the village of Dragobil. Many places in this village were mined. Heavy
weaponry was dug in or hidden in the forests. Hasan Shala (18) from Banja,
Shpëtim Kryeziu (20) and Sami Kryeziu (18) from Pagarusha as well
as an Albanian youngster from Shkoza near Malisheva were killed on the
border between Kosova and Albania. They stepped on a land-mine. Their corpses
were taken to the morgue of the Prizreni Hospital.
SHTIME: The villagers of Reçak were forced
to flee their homes, when a police squad entered their village and started
looting the vacant houses.
DELAYED INFORMATION:
GLLOGOC: On September 27, during the offensive
of the Serbian forces on the villages of Drenica, many houses were burned
in Bainca. The real estate of Nazif Liman Zariqi (1941) was burned.
OBILIQ: During the recent offensive, Serbian
police, military and paramilitary forces demolished, looted and destroyed
the house of Adem Simnica in Lajthishta. On September 25-26, his sons Nasuf
(1967) and Bekim (1971), taxi drivers, were arrested and severely ill-treated.
They were interrogated on the KLA members from their village.
DEÇAN: In the period between August and
September, Serbian forces demolished the private policlinic owned by dr.
Binak A. Lokaj, a dentist. Furniture and equipment estimated to DM 17.820
were looted.
FERIZAJ: During the Serb offensive on the village
of Jezerc, the house of Ramush Tahir Ramadani was burned. On October 10,
a police superior went into the local mosque and drew a cross with four

SHTIME: On October 11, Serbian police raided
the houses of Fehmi Hysenaj, Halim Ademaj, Xhevat Salihaj and Shani Jakupi.
On October 12, police arrested Hajredin Sherif Gashi and his daughter-in-law.
Hajredin was physically ill-treated at the Security Center in Ferizaj.
GJILAN: On October 15, Serbian police raided
the house of Halil Bunjaku (1948), "R. Sadiku" st. II, 8/106. They searched
for his son Skënder Bunjaku (1970). Not finding him, police arrested
Halil, his wife Sherife (1950) and their daughter Kosovare Bunjaku (1983),
a pupil. They were detained for more than 3 hours and interrogated on Skënder.
The first two, as well as Isuf Nishori (56), a displaced person from the
village of Komoran-Gllogoc, were physically ill-treated. In the very same
street, police arrested Nexhat Bunjaku (1971), Ibrahim (1968) and Agim
Oruçi (1964) as well as Ekrem Qerimi (1962). Tajar Berisha (1954),
"Nobërda" st. 22, and Ismet Hashani (1962) from Vërbica e Kmetocit
were arrested. Police searched for Qani Hidiqi (1964), "R. Sadiku" st.
III/21. Qani is currently living in Germany. On October 16-17, police searched
for the following LDK activists: Jonuz Jonuzi (1953), Naim Behluli (1968),
Ramiz Ramadani, Shkëlzen Bajrami and Naser Latifi (1967).
PRIZREN: On October 16, the Serbian run District
Court in Prizren initiated the investigative proceedings against Afrim
Beqir Krasniqi from Prizren. He was accused of "terrorism" and sent to
pre-trial detention.
ZHUR: On September 17, large police forces were
stationed in Zhur, Vërrmica, Shkoza, Dobrushta and Muraderna. In the
village of Zhur, Serb soldiers severely ill-treated Lutfi Nusret Badallaj
and intervened in the houses of Izet Badallaj and Hashim Vezaj. A military
convoy paraded through the village of Zhur. Serb soldiers opened fire.
NOTICE: There is no information on the whereabouts of the following: Kapllan Sylë Hasani (46) from Gjakova, since October 19; Myrvete Latif Shukolli (1972) from Duhla-Suhareka, since October 7; Besnik Zeqir Konstatini (27) from Prizren, since July; Shpetim Bobaj (22) from Lubeniq-Peja, since September; Zahide Idrizi (65), and her sons Gani (34) and Hamdi (23); the sons of Gani Idrizi (6) from Prekaz i Epërm-Skënderaj (7 months); Anton Përtonaj from Ranoc-Klina (3 months); Habib (1945), his wife Sofije Krasniqi (1950), and their son Urim (1979) from Tërpeza-Gllogoc, since October 11; Fadil Sejfiaj (30) from Gramaçel-Deçan; Musli Osë Hulaj (60) from Hulaj-Deçan, since May 15; and Ismail Gashi (50) from Pjetërshtica-Shtime, since October 6.
