NOVEMBER 1:
KLINA: Yesterday, Kolë Culaj's son (7) was buried. He was hit by a police car in the village of Zllakuqan. The decomposed corpse of Sokol Selman Berisha (1915), a handicapped person from the village of Gjurgjevik i Madh, was found in the Shpataj quarter in Jashanica.
RAHOVEC: There are still no information on the whereabouts of the following 13 Albanians who were captivated in the village of Sopniq during the Serb offensive on September 3: Faket Gashi, Sahit Gashi, Aziz Latif Gashi, Kadri Gashi, Sokol Gani Gashi, Bekim Gashi, Abedin Gashi, Namik Dinë Gashi, Sabri Thaçi and Skender Bajram Morina from Sopniq; Agim Morina from Bellacërka and Bujar Gani ? and Xhabir Mustafa from Potoçan i Poshtëm. It is assumed that all the above mentioned are in the prison in Leskovc (Serbia).
LIPJAN: Serb forces are still stationed in Magura and Blinaja. Last night, between 10-2 p.m., these forces opened fire causing fear among the elderly who had returned to their burned houses and forcing them to flee. Serbian forces have camouflaged their tanks and other heavy weaponry.
VITI: At 2.30 a.m., 9 Serb soldiers, who were stationed at the place called "Kodra e Xhepes" in Lubishta, went into the house yards of the Xhymshiti family. Later on, the soldiers left claiming that they had lost their way.
VUSHTRRI: At 9 p.m., in the center of Vushtrria, Serbian police opened fire towards an Albanian youngster. Later on, the policemen were stationed in the center of the town and at the place called "Ura e Gurit". Many tobacco vendors were ill-treated. The policemen intervened in many shops. There was shooting in the vicinity of the "Extra" Color Plant.
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian police forces stationed at the check-point in the vicinity of Tërrnavc opened fire towards the houses in the Haxhiu quarter. The inhabitants started to flee the village.
SUHAREKA: Serbian forces stationed in Duhla opened fire towards the village of Bllaca.
GJAKOVA: Serb military forces are preventing the Albanians from the villages of Reka e Keqe and those along the border with Albania from returning to their houses. Fire was opened towards those who tried to return to the Ukshinaj, Pulatanaj and Haxhaj quarters.
DEÇAN: Military forces prevented the Pepshaj family from Junik from returning to their home.
MITROVICA: In the vicinity of the gas station in Shupkoc, 15 masked policemen stopped and physically ill-treated Sami Selim Haziri (24) from Kaçanoll and Nazmi Faik Ferizi (25) from the "Tuneli i Parë" quarter. Two women who were accompanying them were insulted. Policemen stopped and ill-treated many passers-by.
PRIZREN: At 7.30 p.m., in the "Durmish Asllani" quarter, 7 or 8 policemen ill-treated many passers-by.
ZHUR: A police squad which was accompanied by an armoured car paraded through the center of Zhur and the villages of Vërmica, Shkoza, Dobrusht, Vlashnje and Kobaja.
ISTOG: As the special military units withdrew from the Dubrava Prison, large police forces were stationed in the police station in Rakosh. Large police forces were stationed in Istog and are ill-treating passers-by. Many Albanians were summoned for informative talks. Some 190 policemen and Serb paramilitaries were stationed in the premises of the "Buduqnost" Agricultural Combine in Gurakoc. Selim Memaj from Dubova e Vogël, Nezir Osmanaj, an LDK activist from Samadraxha, and Fitim Ahmetaj and Jahja Dervishaj, LDK activists from Zallq were physically ill-treated at the police station.
FUSHË KOSOVA: During the last few days, Serb police forces were repositioned some 300 m from the village and were stationed in the worker's restaurant of the Open Coal Pit Mines in Bardh i Madh.
FERIZAJ: Yesterday, Kadri (1977) and Izri Jashari from the village of Duga were stopped on the road between Ferizaj and Shkup. Izri's ID was taken and he was ordered to report to the police. Kadri was detained and physically ill-treated. He was subjected to electro-shock. 2 trucks full of soldiers paraded through the town and provoked passers-by.
PODUJEVA: Weapons are distributed to Serb civilians. Many are drafted in police and paramilitary units. 2 Serb paramilitaries went in the house yard of Isuf Selmani and provoked his family members.
NOVEMBER 2:
SKËNDERAJ: We were informed that on June 8, Serbian police, military and paramilitary forces killed Rexhep Zukë Rexhepi (55) and Osman Osmani (1953) from Suhogërlla. The 2 had been wounded and tortured by the police. They were buried in their house yards. It is assumed that the corpses of Ujkan Uka, Jusuf Rushiti and Muhamet Rushiti, an invalid, who were killed on June 7, were thrown in a hole full of fertilizer in the vicinity of Osman Osmani's farm.
The inhabitants of the Barani and Mecinaj quarters in Klina e Epërme were forced to return to Mitrovica due to the large presence of Serbian forces in their village.
PEJA: The carbonized corpse of Mehmet Ukë Ukshinaj (70) was found in the village of Lubeniq. Large Serbian police and military forces were stationed in a plant in Gorazhdec and in the Albanian houses in Babiq and Kërstoc. The villagers are being prevented from returning to their houses. In Dobërdol, police searched for Rizë Zymer Kastrati (34). His family members were told that he is to surrender to the police, otherwise, they would be taken hostage and their wealth would be burned. In Banja e Pejës, police usurped the flat of Ramë Halil Mujaj. A Serb policeman was settled in it.
The following Albanians were sentenced by the Serbian run District Court in Peja: on October 28, Ukë Mehmet Golaj (1966) from the village of Sheremet near Gjakova to 2 years of imprisonment; on October 29, Haki Bajram Mahmutdemaj (1963) from Strellc (Deçan) to 3,6 years, Fehmi Zukë Kukiqi (1956) from Tërstenik (Gllogoc) to 2 years, Tahir Islam Salihu (1936) from Morina (Gjakova) to 8 years and Hekuran Fatmir Çarri (1980) from Gjakova to 7 years; on October 30, Qerim Behram Jetishi (1965) to 12 years, Fadil Shaban Jetishi (1964) to 8 years, Burim Gani Jetishi (1974) and Valdet Qazim Jetishi (1970) to 5 years, Kastriot Qazim Jetishi (1972), Agim Nurë Jetishi (1960), Kujtim Nuredin Jetishi (1962), Behar Gani Jetishi (1976) and Zenel Miftar Jetishi (1953) to 3 years and Avdullah Isuf Jetishi (1950) to 2 years, whereas, Mustafë Hasan Jetishi (1964), Flamur Miftar Jetishi (1970), Valon Sali Jetishi (1971) and Adem Bajram Jetishi (1953) were released due to the lack of evidence; on November 2, Maki Ismail Begolli (1975) and Arsim Agush Kullashi (1977) were sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment each, Blerim Muhamet Kullashi (1977) to one year and Dardan Shadi Murati (1978) to 6 months - all from Peja.
KLINA: Large police and military forces (accompanied by tanks and armoured cars) are still stationed in the vicinity of the primary school in Volljaka. Time after time, these forces shell Sferka, Dush, Përçeva, Këpuz and Dollova. Large forces are stationed at the places called "12 shtëpitë e serbëve" and "Fusha e Madhe" in Jashanica and are preventing the Albanian villagers from returning to their houses. In Klina, armed Serb civilians are opening automatic fire.
GJAKOVA: During the last 3 days, the Serbian police and military forces which were stationed in the villages of Gllogjan near Peja, Maznik near Deçan and Volljaka near Klina shelled Jabllanica near Gjakova. Serbian police forces arrested Armend S. Çaushi (20) from Gjakova, Ramë R. Ibrahimi (1933) from Stublla, Kristë (1966) and Lekë M. Pervorfi (1957) from Dujaka near Gjakova. They were sent to pre-trial detention at the Peja Prison. They were indicted for "terrorism" and the investigative proceedings were initiated against them.
OBILIQ: Serbian police, military and paramilitary forces are still stationed in Sllatina, in the vicinity of Bardh i Madh and in Graboc i Poshtëm.
VUSHTRRI: Between 8 a.m. and noon, 2 police APCs paraded through the town. Since early in the morning, a Serb tank was stationed in Nedakoc, at the place where the police check-point used to be.
ZHUR: At 9 a.m., Serb military forces paraded through the center of Zhur. These forces were stationed in the vicinity of the Ademaj quarter, at the place called "Lugu i Zhurit". Many villagers who were cutting wood in the nearby forests were threatened. It is supposed that the Serb forces are laying mines in the vicinity of Shkoza.
MITROVICA: Between 8 p.m. and midnight, automatic fire was opened at the place called "Kroi i Vitakut".
MALISHEVA: Serb forces are not withdrawing from their positions. From the place called "Pishat e Llazicës" they are targeting the Albanian villagers who are returning to their homes. Serb forces are not withdrawing from their positions in Malisheva, Carralluka, Smonica, Kijeva and Mleçan.
DEÇAN: Serbian police and military forces (accompanied by 30 tanks) are still stationed at the Pepshaj quarter in Junik. Serb soldiers are stationed in the houses of Sadri Jusufi, Mustafë Seferi and Hashim Pepshi, in the premises of the "Hysni Dobruna" Primary School and in the local policlinic.
GJILAN: Serbian police raided the house of Tefik Hashani. He was interrogated on his son Ismet, activist of the LDK in Vërbica e Kmetocit. Jusuf Aliu, chairman of the Elective Commission during the elections of March 22, was arrested.
NOVEMBER 3:
OBILIQ: On October 2, Feride Krasniqi (1938) from the village of Sibovc died in Prishtina as an aftermath of living in the open in the mountains of Çiçavica.
SUHAREKA: The corpse of Abaz Demir Ndrecaj from the village of Maçiteva was found in Bllaca. He had been reported missing since July 26. In Sllapuzhan, Serbian police forces provoked the Albanians who were working in the vicinity of their burned houses. Many grenades were left in the village of Hisar near Shiroka.
PRIZREN: At 3 a.m., a police squad blocked the "Zveçani" st., opened fire and raided the house of Bashkim D. Krasniqi. Only women and children were in the house. The policemen demolished the house and seized a hunting gun for which Bashkim had a permit. In the vicinity of the hospital, police stopped brothers Lulzim (1977) and Refki Morina (1965) from the village of Burim, who were on their way to take their mother to hospital. They were taken to the police station, interrogated on the KLA and severely ill-treated, both physically and psychologically. They suffered severe body injuries. Refki was ordered to report again on November 6 and was told to hand in a gun.
For more than a month, the following villages on the border with Albania: Vërmica, Dobrushi and Shkoza were included in the "border zone". Ever since, many locals were ill-treated. Not even the pupils of the "Heronjtë e Lumës" Primary School are spared from ill-treatments and provocations. Due to fear, they often do not attend their classes. In the village of Dobrusht, Serb soldiers beat Gazmend Saramati, a shepherd, under the pretext that he wore a cap with the inscription USA. He was accused of being a KLA scout. Serb soldiers beat Naim Saramati (32) from Dobrusht under the pretext that he was observing the Serb military forces.
ZHUR: During the last few days, Serb forces paraded on the road between Prizren-Zhur-Kukës and towards Opoja, as well as in the near-by villages. Many locals were provoked.
KAMENICA: Serb forces have not withdrawn from the district of Kamenica. On the contrary, fresh forces are arriving every day. Last night, in "Dygidell" and Rogaçica, policemen provoked passers-by.
RAHOVEC: At the place called "Te Rrasat", in the outskirts of Rahovec, Serbian police stopped and severely beat Sefarim Zllanoga from Rahovec, who was on his way to his field. Due to the injuries suffered, Sefarim was forced to seek medical assistance. He was taken to the Prizreni Hospital. Large police forces are still stationed at the police station, the school premises, the house of Ali Hoti in Ratkoc and on the cross-roads Xërxa-Prizren-Gjakova, where they ill-treat the passers-by. Due to this, Albanian pupils do not dare to go to school, whereas the population that have just returned to its houses is in panic. 250 Serbian policemen and about 30 vehicles were stationed in the "Park" hotel in Rahovec.
GJAKOVA: Serbian police arrested Hysen Bajrami (39) from Babaj i Bokës and Auror (19) and Skënder Llapi (39) from Skivjan, whose houses were raided. Under the pretext that they were searching for a person named Mala, police raided the houses of Afrim Nezaj from Skivjan.
GJILAN: Many Serb policemen and inspectors, accompanied by the investigation judge with the Serbian Run District Court in Gjilan, raided the house of Fatmir Salihu (1951), a former political prisoner, "Boris Kidriç" st.257, who has been living in Switzerland since 1992.
PODUJEVA: In the vicinity of "Fan Noli" Secondary School, a police squad stopped and severely ill-treated Bahri Rasim Shabani (18) from Shtedim, who suffered injuries.
PRISHTINA: Serbian forces took Gjokë Ndrecaj from a village near Gjakova, who was wounded during the attack of Serbian forces, out of the Surgical Clinic in the Hospital of Prishtina towards an unknown direction.
NOVEMBER 4:
DEÇAN: The mutilated corpses of Mone Balaj (27) and Nife Balaj (1925), housewives from Carrabreg, who were killed by the Serbian forces on June 3, were found today. On the very same day the killing occurred, Gjyle Balaj (29), a housewife, and Isuf Ismajlaj, principal with the primary school in Deçan were wounded. The houses of Have and Isuf Ismajlaj were burned.
KLINA: Last night, 27 Albanian families that returned to their houses in Gremnik were forced to flee again as over 100 policemen entered the village, opened fire and threatened them with killing. Today, Rexhep Zymer Dushi (38) from Gjurgjevik i Madh was severely beaten at the police station in Klina. The pretext was that he went to the police station to take his driving licence. In Sverka, policemen opened fire towards Veli Mehmet Gashi (72), who was working on the field.
SUHAREKA: Ednor Liman Lumi (1 month) from Bllaca died as an aftermath of the difficult living conditions in the open.
PEJA: Sadik Asllan Murataj (47) from Cerovik near Klina died yesterday and was buried today. On October 31, UNICEF staff brought him to the Peja Hospital in a very deteriorated condition. At the Serbian Run District Court in Peja, the following were convicted for "hostile activity" and "terrorism": Xhavit Sadik Gashi (1972) from Krushica near Suhareka (3 years imprisonment) and Avni Bajram Gashi (1974) from Buqan near Peja (2 years imprisonment). They were taken immediately to serve their prison terms at the Mitrovica Prison. At the police station in Qallapek, the number of the policemen increased from 12 to 50. A group of Serb youngsters severely ill-treated the following Albanian pupils: Muhamet Nikçi, Edip Sharapolli, Feim Uka and Besnik Berisha. Police arrested Mahir Berisha from Llabjan and Ismet Krasniqi from Baran and raided the house of Pajazit Zymberi in Llabjan. 4 buses with policemen arrived in Peja.
SKËNDERAJ: Serbian forces are still stationed in Tërrnavc, Klinë e Epërme, Qubrel, along the roads Mitrovica-Peja and Skënderaj-Runik. Serbian police were stationed in the houses of the Albanians, too. Due to this, the displaced Albanians still do not dare to go back to their homes. Nor the Albanians in Skënderaj feel secure while the Serbian policemen and civilians are patrolling. Today, Serbian police arrested Kemal Zabeli from Rrezalla, living in Skënderaj. In Shtrubullova near Gllogoc, police arrested Haki Islam Ahmetaj (1970) from Makërmal near Skënderaj and took him to the police station in Kijeva near Malisheva and then to Sllatina near Fushë-Kosova. He was severely beaten with iron sticks and later on, released in a very deteriorated condition.
SHTIME: Serbian forces paraded along the road Shtime-Petrova and attempted to get through to Petrova. Due to the resistance of the KLA, Serbian forces were compelled to withdraw. On arriving in Reçak, Serbian police arrested some Albanians, among whom Musli Ademaj (80), who was released after being ill-treated at the Security Center in Ferizaj, and Përparim Islam Boshnjaku (22), who is still under arrest.
GJAKOVA: Serbian forces stopped the bus of the "Kosovatrans" Enterprise travelling from Gjakova to Peja and arrested 2 Albanian youngsters. In Dujaka, Serbian police are ill-treating Albanians and raiding their houses under the pretext of searching for weapons. Due to the presence of Serbian forces, the lessons in "Fan Noli" Primary School were interrupted. Sporadic shots were heard in Reka e Keqe, where Serbian forces have presented an ultimatum to the Albanian inhabitants to hand in their weapons and so make it impossible for them to return to their homes.
FUSHË-KOSOVA: There were fire shootings in Graboc i Poshtëm. Serbian forces are still stationed in Bardh i Madh, at the place called "Mbi Kala" and "Te Dheu i Kërshit" and are opening fire towards Graboc i Poshtëm. They are also preventing the inhabitants from returning to their homes. Today, Serbian forces returned to their check-point and sent back the bus travelling from Prishtina to Fushë-Kosova.
OBILIQ: In Palaj, during the burial of an old woman, Serbian forces arrested Nazmi Asllani from Stanovc and Ramë Gashi from Lumëmadh near Vushtrri. After the arrival of the foreign observers, Serbian policemen were stationed at the health care office of the Kosova GE. Serbian policemen stationed at "Kërshat e Grabocit" are opening fire towards Graboc i Epërm and Shipitulla.
PRISHTINA: Armed Serbian civilians in Nëntë-Jugoviq opened fire in order to provoke Albanian families. Serbian police went into the flat of Hysen Mehuka in "Bregu i Diellit" quarter II, and severely ill-treated his relatives Malush Bytyçi, Blerim Mulliqi, Luan Shala and Bekim Mustafa, students.
KAMENICA: Recently, fresh police forces were stationed in the district of Kamenica. They were stationed in the entrance of Hogosht and Kopernica up to "Dheu i Bradhë". At least 4 police check-points were set up along the road of about 20 km. Serbian policemen are being noticed very frequently in Kamenica.
KAÇANIK: 4 jeeps with military superiors and soldiers went to strategic point, the place called "Guri i Zi" near Glloboçica.
FERIZAJ: Serbian security inspectors arrested Musli Avdyli from Pleshina. The pretext is unknown.
HANI I ELEZIT: Border guards arrested Hazbi, Metush and Sefedin Shkreta while they were working on their property.
NOVEMBER 5:
MALISHEVA: Today, we were informed that on October 29, in Mleçan, after the displaced people returned to their homes, the corpse of Sherif Miftar Rexhepi (37) from Mleçan, father of 7, was found in a well. His whereabouts were unknown since July 28. The corpses of Habib Zogaj (25) from Lladroc and Nuhi Mazrreku (29) from Guriq, killed on August 25, were found in Shiroka near Suhareka. Serbian forces were stationed in Smonica.
KLINA: At the Çupeva's mill, in the vicinity of Jashanica, Serbian police killed Sejdi Shala (30) from Kopiliq i Poshtëm and an unidentified Albanian from Izbica near Skënderaj. Police still has the corpses. In Grebenik, Serbian police severely ill-treated Tafë Gashi and tens of other Albanians, who were on their way home.
PEJA: Two Security inspectors ordered the Islamic Community in Peja to bury the corpse of an unidentified Albanian, who is believed to have been killed in the district of Klina. According to the eye-witnesses, the late had been executed 2-3 hours before he was buried. Police were present in his burial. Today, in the early morning, 4 buses with policemen from the settlements in Bosnia arrived in Peja.
In the "Dardania" III quarter, an hour after midnight, Serbian police went into the house of Panxhaj family. Hyse Panxhaj (86) and her two daughters-in-law with their 6 children, who had returned three days before, were in the house. They locked up the young women in the bathroom and beat the old woman until she passed out threatening that they would return and kill them all. After they left, Hyse and the others fled.
On their way home from Ulqin, Zymber Krasniqi from Vranoc and some Albanian refugees from Lugu i Baranit were stopped in Vitomirica and taken for informative talks at the police station in Peja.
Reshat Arif Nurboja (1959) from Peja, chairman of the Civil League of Kosova, was transferred from the prison in Peja to the one in Mitrovica. Due to the lack of proofs, the trial of Ali Ramë Kelmendi (1962) from Rosuja was broken off and he was released. He was arrested on August 7 and charged for "hostile activity".
GJAKOVA: Serbian forces opened fire towards the villages of Zhub and Vogova on the border with Albania. Sporadic shootings were heard in the villages of Dushkaja and Reka e Keqe. In Zhub, Serbian army built a watchtower. They are cutting the woods around it.
PODUJEVA: Two police convoys from Serbia headed towards Prishtina. At noon, a helicopter flew over the villages of Hertica, Batllava, Bellopoja, Tërrnava and Sharban. Fire shootings were heard from the police stations in Orllan and Batllava.
FUSHË-KOSOVA: A police convoy headed towards Drenica.
MITROVICA: Two APCs and a jeep full of policemen left Mitrovica and headed towards Skënderaj. Two military helicopters flew over Mitrovica. Some 30 policemen were stationed in the vicinity of the "Fazli Grajçevci" Primary School in Zhabar. Later on, they headed for Koshtova. After half an hour they returned to Mitrovica again. The presence of large Serbian police forces is noticed in different parts of Mitrovica. During the last few days, the entrance to the Mitrovica Hospital is guarded by the police.
At 6 p.m., in the vicinity of the post office, 13 policemen and many Serb civilians attacked the following pupils of the "Ismail Qemali" Primary School: Argjend (12) and Liridona Ejup Veliqi (14) from Polac near Skënderaj; Luljeta (13) and Abaz Rasim Mulaj (11) from Tërstenik near Gllogoc - all sheltered in Mitrovica; Azem Avdullah Kajtazi (13), Liridona Shefqet Haxhiu (12), Kaltrina Avdi Kutllovci (14), etc. They were forced to go through the Lushta river. Argjend was beaten until he fainted. Many passers-by were forced to go through the river. Those who opposed were brutally beaten. Arben Mehmet Meha (22), a student, was beaten. Ahmet Brahimi (53), owner of the "Shkëndija impex" enterprise and his nephew Lulzim Murtez Brahimi (34), a driver with that enterprise, were taken for informative talks under the pretext that the KLA kidnapped a policeman and a Serb soldier from their bus.
SUHAREKA: A military convoy comprised of more than 35 vehicles: tanks, armoured cars, trucks and buses full of soldiers came from the direction of Shtime, paraded through Suhareka and headed towards Prizren. Serb police forces are still stationed in Duhla, Grejçec, Reshtan and Mohlan. These forces are patrolling through the burned Albanian villages, allegedly to ensure their safe return to their houses. The policemen stationed in the Luboci quarter in the village of Grejçec damaged the roof of an Albanian house. During the night, the very same policemen opened fire.
PRIZREN: During the last few days, Serb military forces are patrolling through the following villages on the border with Albania: Kushnin and Lubizhda e Hasit. These forces are causing insecurity among the villagers. The Serbian run District Court in Prizren postponed the trial of Besnik Kika, a driver with the hospital in Prizren, who was indicted for "terrorism". The investigative proceedings against the following underaged Albanians were stopped and they were released from pre-trial detention: Burim and Sali Berisha from Lez-Prizren; Bujar Hasanaj from Savrova, Xhevat Kabashi from Mohlan, Safet Lushaj from Grejkoc, Xhavit Loshi from Vraniq, Ylber Kuçi and Haki Mustafa from Suhareka and Dëfrim Sh. Mullaliu and Bekim E. Kasapi from Rahovec.
NOVEMBER 6:
RAHOVEC: In the vicinity of Opterusha, Serbian police ambushed and killed 5 members of the KLA: Xhelal Hajda-Toni (31) and Selajdin Mullaabazi-Mici (30) from Rahovec; Bektesh Halili from Gllavotin, Hamdi Hajrizi from Strovc near Vushtrria and Nezir Ymeri from Jezerc near Ferizaj. The corpses of the killed were taken to the morgue of the Prizreni Hospital.
DEÇAN: Two corpses were found in the villages of Pobërgja and Shaptej. It is assumed that the number of the killed in the district of Deçan is much higher as some 60 people from this district are reported missing. Due to the presence of large police and military forces, only a small number of the displaced people are returning to their houses. Haxhi Rexhep Krasniqi from the village of Baran was stopped, arrested and physically ill-treated by the police. He was returning from Peja.
MALISHEVA: The corpse of Sherif Sahit Hoti (60) was found in the village of Carralluka. He was killed on July 28. Fire was opened towards the village of Llazica.
SUHAREKA: At noon, there was shooting between the villages of Samadraxha and Opterusha. It is assumed that there are killed and wounded. Due to the difficult living conditions in the open, Qerim Beka from the village of Grejçec died in Vraniq. Large police forces are still stationed in the villages of Duhla, Grejçec, Mohlan and Reshtan. Serb military forces are stationed in Qafa e Duhlës and in the mountains of Biraq near Suhareka. From these positions they are opening fire towards the Albanian villages in this district.
KLINA: Serbian police forces stationed in the vicinity of the bauxite mines in Volljaka opened fire towards Sverka, Volljaka, Përçeva and the other Albanian villages in this region. In the early hours of the morning, the noise of large motorized military units was heard. Ndue Bala, an activist of the LDK in Klina, was attacked by 2 armed Serbian civilians.
PRIZREN: In the "Bazhdarane" quarter in the center of the town, Serb children threw stones on the car of the KDOM.
The Serbian run District Court in Prizren postponed the trial of the following: Ferit Tafallari, member of the board of the Sub-CDHRF in Prizren, and Enver Berisha, activist of the Sub-Council. The two were accused for "hostile activity" and "terrorism".
The Military Court in Nish extended the pre-trial detention of the following, until January 26, 1999: Kujtim Memaj (1978), Nexhmedin Ajazaj (1971), Fatmir Memaj (1975) and Adem Elezkurtaj from Zhur; Islam Thaçi (1972) from Prizren; Afrim Berisha (1972) from Lez-Prizren; Berat Xhezairi (1969) from Brodosana-Dragash and Tahir Adem Hasanaj (1977) from Llapçeva-Rahovec. They were detained on August 1, 1998.
LIPJAN: 30 Albanian prisoners from Gjakova were taken to the prison in Lipjan. They are being ill-treated and fed only once in every 2 days. The female prisoners are ill-treated, too.
PRISHTINA: On October 17 and on November 6, many Serb policemen went to the house of Sebahate Vllasa in the village of Lebane. The first time, they had demolished the house and had sought DM 500 from her. Today, they threatened her with a knife, beat her and forced her to give them DM 200. Sebahate's son Granit (2) was terrified. At 10 p.m., Haki Ali Imeri (1976), a night watchman in the "Excellent" cafe, living in "Xhemajl Ibishi" st. 118, was stopped and physically ill-treated by 2 Serb policemen. Mujadin Canolli (1972), "Rahoveci" st. 9, was stopped by an armed Serb civilian and taken to the local police station. He was severely ill-treated.
MITROVICA: 3 APCs and a jeep full of policemen
left Mitrovica and headed for Skënderaj. In the vicinity of Shipol,
at the place where the police check-point used to be, many policemen in
a jeep and 3 "Ascona" cars stopped and physically ill-treated Albanian
passers-by. The following are some of the ill-treated: brothers Rrustem
(58) and Rasim Azem Rrustemi (48) from Lushta and Hilmi Hazir Beqiri (21)
from Bajgora.
A policeman named Mojsiloviq, chased a group
of pupils from the "Aziz Sylejmani" Primary School. He pulled Besmira Sejdiu
(11) by her hair.
VUSHTRRI: Sabit Kadriu, chairman of the Sub-CDHRF in Vushtrria, was stopped by the Serbian police authorities. The following Albanian guardians were dismissed from the Smrekonica prison under the pretext that they had refused to go and work in other prisons throughout Serbia: Isuf Sadriu (43), Gani Xhema (43), Ahmet Aliu (44) and Afrim Ahmeti (28).
PODUJEVA: The police station in Orllan was reinforced with fresh police units. There were movements of the Serbian police forces in the villages of Ballaban, Llapashtica, Shajkoc and Dumosh. These forces are stopping, checking and provoking all passers-by.
NOVEMBER 7:
SUHAREKA: In the early hours of the morning, there was shooting from the Serb positions in Qafa e Duhlës. Serb policemen opened fire in the village of Mohlan. An Albanian villager was ill-treated by a police patrol in Leshan. In the village of Reshan, Petrit Shabiqi, a pupil, was beaten by the police.
PRIZREN: 20 policemen accompanied by armed Serb civilians surrounded 3 streets in the "Tusus" quarter. Besim Kryeziu, "Ibri" st. 30, was arrested.
GLLOGOC: On November 6, Tomor Feriz Bogiqi (1971), a worker from the village of Vukoc, was arrested in Zabel i Poshtëm. He was taken to the police station in Gllogoc. Today, he was released.
VUSHTRRI: Serbian police stopped several trucks carrying school equipment (a gift of the SOROS foundation). Principals Qazim Azemi and Izet Morina were arrested.
NOVEMBER 8:
SUHAREKA: At 9.30 p.m., the Serb forces stationed in Reshtan opened automatic and mortar fire. The villagers of Reshtan and Peçan i Vogël fled their houses. There were large movements of the Serbian forces in the Albanian villages of Suhareka.
DELAYED INFORMATION:
LIPJAN: On July 23-24, Tahire (1979), Jeton (1981) and Gjylë Bajram Shabani (1992) were wounded during the shelling of Leletiq.
PODUJEVA: On October 24, Isak Shabani, a political prisoner from the village of Orllan had a visit at the prison in Mitrovica e Sremit. The visit was interrupted by the prison authorities under the pretext that the prisoner is to communicate with his relatives only in Serbian.
PRISHTINA: On October 26, 2 policemen looted DM 100 from Burim Arifi (1973), a khoja. He was told not to report his case.
PEJA: On October 27, Ragip Sylë Ahmeti (1967) from Katundi i Ri was arrested by the police. He was taken to the county jail in Peja. He was indicted for "hostile activity" and "terrorism" and the investigative proceedings were initiated against him. On October 31, police arrested Agron Ramë Berisha (30). His uncle Zymer Fazli Berisha (70) was ill-treated and ordered to report again at the police station.
ISTOG: On October 29, 30 policemen were stationed in the premises of the primary school in Lubizhda. Ukë Tetaj and Rrustem Bajramaj from Lluga e Istogut and Nimon Osmanaj from Prigoda were beaten and suffered body injuries. Money was looted from them.
GJILAN: On October 29, Basri Milaim Murati (18) from Kishnapola was physically ill-treated by the police, while working on his fields in Tankosiq near Ferizaj. His ID was seized and he was ordered to report to the police station in Ferizaj.
PRIZREN: On October 30, Vladimir Arsiq, a Serb pupil, stabbed Mustafë B. Admiri (1981), a bosniac.
FERIZAJ: On October 30, Fazli Muharremi (1951) and his son Xheladin from the village of Zborc near Shtime were arrested in Tërn and taken to the Security Center in Ferizaj. They were interrogated and physically ill-treated under the pretext that they had aided the KLA.
MITROVICA: On October 31, Veli Rrustem Fejzullahu (37) and Ahmet Mustafë Beqiri (48) from the village of Bajgora, who were sheltered in Mitrovica, were stopped by the police, interrogated on the KLA and provoked. Ahmet was physically ill-treated and suffered body injuries.
FUSHË KOSOVA: On October 31, at midnight, a group of Serb hooligans threw stones on the house of Zejdi Limani (1941) from Fushë Kosova. Many windows were broken.
