Killings, mutilations, violent deaths...
On January 24, at about 9 p.m., the following
were killed in the vicinity of the Rakovina bridge: Shaban Tafë Kelmendi
(45) and his 2 sons Haxhi (11) and Besim Kelmendi (12) from Rakovina, as
well as Hysen (40) and Sanije Kurti (30) from Cërmjan. They were shot
by Serb policemen while travelling in a tractor between the villages of
Kramovik and Cërmjan.
On January 25, Musa Mulliqi (50) from the village
of Lluka e Epërme near Deçan was shot by the Serbian police.
His son Skënder (24) was wounded and taken to the Surgery Ward of
the Peja hospital.
On January 26, the OSCE Verification Mission
and the Sub-CDHRF in Gllogoc reported that the corpse of Hysni Danush Murseli
(1966) from the village of Nekoc near Gllogoc is in the morgue of the Prishtina
hospital. On January 8, Hysni and 2 relatives of his were arrested by a
group of Serbian civilians in the village of Magura near Lipjan. Hysni
was taken to the police station in Lipjan. The next day, he died as an
aftermath of being tortured.
On January 27, Mehdi Sylë Haziri (1957)
from the village of Druar near Vushtrria, a father of 5 and a member of
the KLA, was killed by the Serbian police in the village of Novolan.
On January 27, Driton Jahir Azemi (21) from the
village of Bradash near Podujeva, a member of the KLA, died due to the
wounds suffered during the offensive of the Serbian police and military
forces in the region of Llap.
On January 27, the corpse of Dejan Kostiq (1976)
from the "Bair" quarter in Mitrovica was found in the vicinity of the village
of Shupkoc. He was killed under unknown circumstances.
On January 27, it was confirmed that Azem Rexhep
Ademi (1948) from the village of Karaça near Vushtrria and Valdet
Fazli Rexhaj (1976) from the village of Jabllanica e Vogël near Peja
were killed under unknown circumstances in the vicinity of Subotica, on
December 30, 1998.
On January 28, at about 10 a.m., the corpses
of Kasim Shala (28) and Hamdi Berisha (22) were taken to the morgue of
the Gjakova hospital. The two were killed during a clash with the Serbian
police at the place called "Ura e Terzive" in the vicinity of Bishtazin.
A night before, policemen Dragan Vukmanoviq and Goran Joviq were wounded
in the village of Bishtazin.
On January 28, the Sub-CDHRF in Mitrovica reported
that the corpses of the following were buried in the local cemetery in
Mitrovica: Mark Gashi (51) from the village of Dabidol near Rahovec, killed
on July 17; Rifat Zeneli from the village of Mazhiq near Mitrovica, who
was killed in his house on September 16; Naser Kodra from the village of
Prekaz i Poshtëm near Skënderaj, killed on September 24 (the
3 were considered missing); Sejfullah Jetullah Muliqi (1981) from Abria
e Epërme near Gllogoc, who was killed at the police check-point in
Polac near Skënderaj, on August 19, and Kapllan Ahmetaj from Radisheva
near Skënderaj, killed in the village of Çubrel near Skënderaj
in August.
On January 29, the following were killed by the
Serbian police and military forces between the villages of Romaja and Rogova
in the district of Gjakova: Rifat Haxhi Shala (1974), Zyber Dervish Shala
(1939), Xhevdet Beqir Berisha (34), Adem Xhemë Shala (1955) and Brahim
Skënder Kryeziu (1973) from Rogova and Sejdi Avdyl Rama (1965) and
Agron Rama from Smolica near Gjakova, Luan Islami (1978) and Bahtiar Abdyl
Morina (1975) from Jabllanica near Peja, Valon Muharrem Gashi (1977) from
Buçan near Peja, Naim Xhafer Gashi (1978) from Sverka near Klina,
Daut Idriz Kelmendi (1971) from Dreja near Istog, Haxhi Hajdar Lipjani
(1976) from Kleçka near Malisheva, Gëzim Qazim Ademaj (1964)
from Ratisha e Poshtme near Deçan and Agush Gjoci (25). Policeman
Predrag Rakoviq (21) was killed, too.
On January 29, the unidentified corpses of 3
members of the KLA were taken to the morgue of the Gjakova hospital.
On January 29, police brought the corpse of Shemsi
Shala from the district of Peja to the morgue of the Gjakova hospital.
On January 29, Gaspër Karaçi (38)
from the village of Ujz near Gjakova, a teacher with the "At Gjergj Fishta"
Primary School in Bishtazin, was killed by the Serbian police in the vicinity
of Bishtazin. The victim was killed with two other unidentified Albanians.
On January 29, at about 5 p.m., Serb soldiers
brought the corpse of an unidentified Albanian to the morgue of the Gjakova
hospital. It is assumed that he was killed on the border zone with Albania.
On January 29, unidentified persons threw a bomb
on the house of Zdravko Sedllareviq (73) in the village of Rakosh near
Istog. Zdravko was killed, whereas his wife Dara (72) was wounded.
On January 31, OSCE verifiers reported that the
corpse of an unidentified KLA soldier was found in the village of Lupç
i Poshtëm near Podujeva. Serb forces have conditioned the return of
the corpse with the return of an excavator which was taken by the KLA several
days before.
On January 31, the corpse of Emin Faik Basha
(36) from Peja was found in the vicinity of his house in the village of
Ramun.
On January 31, the corpse of Naim Mursel Horuni
(1973) from the village of Biçec near Kaçanik was found at
his working place at the "Jehona" warehouse.
On January 31, at about 10.30 p.m., unidentified
persons threw a bomb at the "Beqa" fast food restaurant in "Vellusha" st.
in Prishtina. Osman Ibrahim Gashi (23), a student from the village of Baran
near Peja, was killed and 6 guests were wounded.
Kidnappings and involuntary disappearances...
There are no information on the whereabouts of the following: Haxhi Ibërhysaj (1935) from Deçan (since June 1998); and Mustafë Pllana (1956) from the village of Bërrnica e Epërme near Prishtina (kidnapped on January 19, 1999).
Trials...
On January 25, the following were convicted by
the Serbian run District Court in Prizren: Mehmet Rexhep Morina (1962)
from the village of Astrazub near Malisheva (to 2 years and a half); on
January 27, Hajrush Syla from Sllapuzhan near Suhareka (to 2 years and
a half); on January 28, Muharrem Adem Çunaj (1943), Mehmet Azem
Çunaj (1972), Sali Dinë Çunaj (1942), Dul Ramadan Çunaj
(1976) and Avdullah Sadri Çunaj (1964) - from the village of Kojusha
near Prizren; Man Ali Karavidaj (1962), Sali Rrustem Hameli (1976) and
Kadri Ukë Jahaj (1970) - from the village of Mazrrek near Prizren
(to 4 years of imprisonment each); and on January 30, Gani Musli Elezi
(1962) from Mushtisht near Suhareka (to 2 years and a half). The above
mentioned were accused for "hostile activity" and "terrorism".
On January 29, the following were convicted by
the Serbian run District Court in Mitrovica: Basri Sylejman Rexha (32)
(to 20 months of imprisonment); Esat Latif Shaqiri (33) (to 2 years); as
well as Bedri Bajram Bajrami (32), Nexhmi Kamer Salihu (36), Faruk Niman
Rexha (39) and Rifat Ahmet Shaqiri (34) (to 20 months of imprisonment each)
(in absentia) - all from the village of Pantina near Vushtrria. They were
charged for "terrorism".
THE COURSE OF EVENTS:
JANUARY 24:
PRISHTINA: At the bus station in Prishtina, unidentified
persons opened sniper fire on the "Elektroekonomia" bus transporting people
to work. Skënder Halili (1962) from the village of Godanc i Poshtëm
near Shtime was wounded.
GLLOGOC: At about 2 p.m., Serb policemen stationed
at the Drenica bridge wounded an unidentified Albanian.
KLINA: In the village of Gllareva, Serb policemen
severely ill-treated Ali Krasniqi (57) from Përçeva. DM 200
were looted from him. At about 8 p.m., in the vicinity of the place called
"Të lisat", Serb policemen opened sniper fire towards the houses of
Bajram Oruçi and Isuf Berisha in Klinavc.
DEÇAN: Jeton Avdimetaj and Mustafë
Jusaj from the village of Strellc i Epërm were arrested while going
to Peja. Later on, they were released with the mediation of the OSCE verification
mission. During the last 4 days, war planes flew over the villages in the
district of Deçan.
PRIZREN: Unidentified masked persons attacked
the family of Ukshin Tarjani in the village of Pirana. As Ukshin opened
fire towards the assaulters they fled. According to blood stains, it is
assumed that someone was wounded.
GJILAN: Afrim Limani (1975) from the village
of Livoç i Poshtëm was taken out of his car and beaten in the
presence of his family members by policeman Mile Saviq. Blerim Halimi (22)
from Livoç i Epërm was brutally beaten by unidentified persons.
JANUARY 25:
VUSHTRRI: The night between January 24-25, a group
of Serb paramilitaries from Prelluzha machine gunned the house of Arif
Duraku (50) in Stanoc i Poshtëm. Arif and his wife Hanife (46), their
daughters Xhevahire (21) and Shqipe (17) as well as their son Hajdin were
sleeping. The assaulters demolished doors, windows and house furniture.
In the vicinity of the police academy in Vushtrria,
Sefedin Q. Karaça (25) from Okrashtica was taken out of the bus
and severely ill-treated by the police.
MITROVICA: At the Tuneli i Parë village,
a group of more than 25 Serb policemen in 2 APCs and a police car stopped
the "Kosovatransi" bus. The following were taken out of the bus: Lulzim
Rexhep Musa (22) from Bajgora, Hysen Adem Kaçiku (35) from Rashan,
Ferki Peci (23) from Rahova, Behxhet Mehmet Kurti (29) from Selac and 2
other Albanian youngsters. They were all physically ill-treated. Lulzim
and Hysen were arrested.
PRISHTINA: In the vicinity of the "Iliria" Primary
School, Serb hooligans severely ill-treated Sejdi Pajaziti (1984), a pupil
living in "Robert Gajdiku" st. 100. Sejdi suffered severe injuries. Serb
policemen accompanied by 6 armoured cars and several Landrovers went to
the yard of the "Rilindja" Primary School in Keqekolla, provoked and looted
pupils and passers-by. Many pupils of the "Hoxhë Kadri Prishtina"
Secondary School were physically ill-treated.
GJAKOVA: Serb policemen raided the house of Zeqë
Kajtazi (1965) from the village of Shishman. He was physically ill-treated
in the presence of his family members.
GJILAN: In the vicinity of Slivova, Serb policemen
stopped Veli Murati (1970), a student from the village of Bresalc and a
bill collector with the Financing District Council in Gjilan, and 2 other
Albanian youngsters. They were physically ill-treated, insulted and threatened
with liquidation. They were forced to pay lunch to the policemen. In the
village of Parallova, Serb policemen physically ill-treated 3 Albanian
youngsters from the district of Presheva.
SHTIME: On January 23, Osman Qarri, a handicapped
person from Shtime, was arrested by the Serbian police in the village of
Duhla near Suhareka. Today, he was released with heavy body injuries suffered
as an aftermath of being physically ill-treated at the police station.
ISTOG: Xhafer Mehmetaj from the village of Zabllaç
was summoned for informative talks to the police station in Istog. He was
accused for weapons and for sheltering members of the KLA. Izet Haxhiaj,
an activist of the LDK in Rakosh, was summoned to the police station and
interrogated.
FERIZAJ: Naim Ibishi (1965), an activist of the
LDK in the village of Tërn, was summoned to the police station in
Babush.
SHTËRPCE: In the village of Brod, Serb policemen
stopped and physically ill-treated Agim Idrizi (1970) from Brod and Xhemajl
Selmani (1969) from Firaja.
JANUARY 26:
PRISHTINA: In the vicinity of the "Ali Kelmendi"
Primary School in Barileva, policemen severely ill-treated Sherif Tërbunja
(60) from the village of Breznica near Obiliq. He suffered severe body
injuries. The following were physically ill-treated by the police in the
"Velania" quarter: Ardian (1981) and Uran Krasniqi (1980) from the village
of Tërpeza near Gllogoc, as well as Burim Kryeziu (1981) from the
village of Pagarusha near Malisheva - all 3 pupils with the "Ali Sokoli"
Medical Secondary School in Prishtina. DM 60 were looted from them.
GJAKOVA: Serbian police, military and paramilitary
forces raided 18 Albanian houses in the Rexhaj quarter in Dobrosh. Muhamet
Sahiti was beaten in the presence of his family members. In fear from a
massacre the villagers fled to the mountains. The houses of the following
were raided in the village of Sheremetaj: Rrustë Golaj, Sefedin and
Malë Fazliu; Hasan and Ymer Zeqiri. The houses of Brahim and Hysen
Bajrami, as well as those of Hasan and Sali Koci were raided in the village
of Madanaj. In the village of Nec, Serb policemen burned the house of Nik
Hyseni. In Skivjan, they raided the house of Ramadan Hima. Bujar Hima was
arrested and taken to the police station in Gjakova. In the village of
Bec, Binak Maxhuni (51) and his 3 sons, Faruk (23), Dukagjin (21) and Përparim
(18) were beaten in their house. Lutfi Isufi (32) from Gjakova and Rrustem
Aliaj (60) from Gërgoc were arrested. Shani Hajrush Hoti (22) from
the village of Ratkoc near Rahovec, a student with the Pedagogical High
School in Gjakova, was arrested at the police check-point in Bishtazin.
In the village of Cërmjan, Nezir Shala as well as Bajram Osmani and
his son, were summoned to the police station.
SUHAREKA: Xhevahir Sedolli from Papaz, Xhemajl
Morina from Reshtan and Sylë Hasan Basha from Vraniq were arrested
by the police. The Serbian run District Court in Prizren extended the pre-trial
detention to Hajredin Syla from the village of Sllapuzhan near Vushtrria.
MALISHEVA: Asllan G. Mazrreku (30) from Malisheva
and Baki B. Krasniqi (30) from Astrazub were arrested by the Serbian police.
Police forces parade on the road between Malisheva and Rahovec.
PEJA: Tushe S. Agushi (58) was summoned for informative
talks to the police station in Peja. Police inspectors interrogated her
on her family members and on Alush Gashi from the village of Drenoc near
Klina.
ISTOG: In the village of Bellopoja near Istog,
in his house yard, Ranko Tepavac (19) was wounded from a sniper shot. He
was taken to hospital.
PRIZREN: Last night, there was shooting in the
vicinity of Landovica. Zejnelabedin Kurjeshi, the compulsory principal
with the "Mustafa Bakia" Primary School, ordered Ilir Berisha, the legitimate
principal, and the principal of the "Emin Duraku" Primary School not to
conduct lectures due to the "Shën Sava" religious holiday.
JANUARY 27:
PODUJEVA: Since the early hours of the morning,
Serbian police, military and paramilitary forces launched an offensive
against the villages of between Lupç i Poshtëm and Peran. Serb
forces used tanks and heavy artillery and shelled the villages of Lupç
and Majac, Lluzhan, Burica, Gllamnik, Llapashtica e Poshtme, Llapashtica
e Epërme, Obrança, Bradash, Peran, Penuh, Konushec, Sallabaja,
Godishnjak, Shakovica, and Katunishta. Serb forces were opposed by the
KLA. In the village of Lupç i Poshtëm, Serb paramilitaries
were seen looting Albanian houses. Serb snipers are opening fire from the
high buildings in Podujeva. The streets of the town empty. Machine gun
fire and shelling continued during the day. Raif (67) and Hakif Bici (65)
from the village of Godishnjak were wounded. The number of the displaced
is very large. A large number are in the open. In Podujeva, Serb civilians
were sheltered in the premises of the primary school and are guarded by
the police. During the last few days, Serb policemen from the check-point
in Lupç i Poshtëm have ill-treated many Albanian passers-by.
VUSHTRRI: In the early hours of the morning Serb forces have blocked all
the roads to town and have physically ill-treated many Albanian civilians.
Vedat Z. Parduzi (29) was ill-treated. Police raided the house of Sejdi
Deliu and searched for his son Mehdi. There was shooting from the Serb
positions near Vushtrria. A small number of Albanian families which have
not fled the village of Novolan are stuck in their houses. At noon, fresh
Serb forces were seen heading towards Novolan. Apart from the villagers
of Novolan, many villagers from the Llapi region have sought shelter in
Vushtrria.
GJAKOVA: Between midnight and 3 a.m., there were
loud detonations in the Hasi region, on the border with Albania.
SUHAREKA: The OSCE Mission in Suhareka reported
that the Serb forces had mined the Luboci quarter in Grejçec, as
well as the Koreniku mountains. Halil Trolli (55) from the village of Dragaçina,
was wounded by a mine laid in the vicinity of the forests of Biraç.
KLINA: After the attack of the Serbian forces
on the village of Sverka, the villagers of Sverka as well as those from
the village of Dush fled their houses and were sheltered in the mountains.
PRISHTINA: 2 armed persons who were wearing masks
looted and severely ill-treated Mehmet Kçiku (1982) from the "Dardania"
quarter.
VITI: At the place called "Reka e Debëlldehut",
near the border with Macedonia, a military patrol arrested Abaz, Islam,
Gazmend and Ramiz Idrizi, as well as Fadil Bekteshi from Buzovik. They
were all taken to the District Court for Petty Offences, sentenced to 15
days of imprisonment and sent to serve their prison terms in the prison
in Gjilan.
PRIZREN: Machine gun fire and loud detonations
were heard in the vicinity of Kushnin. Due to shelling, many locals fled
the villages of Kushnin, Kabash, Lubizhda, Dedaj, Luki and Romaja. Loud
detonations were heard from Romaja. In a shop in Prizren, Serb forces arrested
Bekim Berisha from Jeshkova, living in Prizren. He was kept in detention
for 15 hours and was physically ill-treated.
NOVI PAZAR: According to the statement of the
chairman of the Sanxhak Helsinki Committee, Shefko Alomeroviq, Serb policemen
arrested 10 Albanian seasonal workers in Novi Pazar. Some of them were
released, whereas the others are still in detention. They were brutally
treated by the police.
SHTËRPCA: In Bitia e Poshtme, Serb policemen
opened fire towards the house of Osman Hyseni, demolished and burned it.
JANUARY 28:
PODUJEVA: After 12 in the afternoon, Serb forces
stationed at "Tabet e Llapashticës" fired grenades towards Llapashtica.
At 3 p.m., Serb forces in Peran opened mortar fire towards the village
of Bradash. Due to the shelling of the previous day, many houses in Majac,
Llapashtica, Obrança and other villages were damaged.
VUSHTRRI: Between 9.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m., special
police units blocked the quarters near the road between Prishtina and Mitrovica
and raided the houses of Ilmi Avdiu, Enver Aliu, Lumni Zahiti and Metë
Zahiti in "Shote Galica" st. They arrested Kadri Topallaj and his 2 daughters
from the village of Vitak near Skënderaj, who were sheltered at the
house of Metë Zahiti. Serb policemen went into the houses of Remzi
Zahiti and Sabri Hyseni.
SUHAREKA: At the check-point in Duhla, police
stopped the bus of the "Loni-Tours" travel agency and ill-treated many
passengers from Bllaca, Bellanica, Banja and other villages.
PRIZREN: Serb police forces accompanied with
more than 20 armoured vehicles were stationed in the Selmanaj quarter in
Romaja, in the villages of Lugishta and Kushnin in Has. 8 armoured cars
full of masked Serb paramilitaries left these villages and headed towards
Prizren. The village of Dobrusha was surrounded by large military forces.
The locals have fled the village. In Romaja, Serb paramilitaries stabbed
Bajram Nezaj (16) and physically ill-treated his father Ramadan Nezaj.
Nez Metë Nezaj (1971) was arrested. The Albanian population is fleeing.
Apart from the village of Romaja, lessons are not being conducted in Kushnin,
Lugishta, Dedaj and Krajk.
PRISHTINA: In Tenezhdoll, Serb forces demolished
the houses of Xhemajl, Jonuz and Jusuf Rrahmani and looted goods in the
shop owned by Jusuf.
JANUARY 29:
PRIZREN: In the village of Rogova in Has, 25 Albanians
were killed under unknown circumstances, of whom 3 were wearing KLA uniforms.
8 were killed in a house yard, 8 were killed in a van, 4 in a garage and
4 800m from the spot. The last victim was found at about 9.00 p.m. A Serb
policeman was killed, too. According to some information, at 1.00 a.m.,
large police and military forces have entered the village and have surrounded
it completely. The shooting started at 5.00 a.m. and lasted until 8.00
a.m. 4 lorries full of policemen, 3 APCs, 10-15 landrovers, 4 armoured
cars, 1 lorry full of soldiers entered the village. Policemen raided the
houses. Many villagers fled their homes. Serbian police and military forces
accompanied by armoured cars have blocked the village of Celina and have
intervened in several houses in Dushanova. The road between Xërxa,
Rogova and Krusha e Madhe was blocked. In Dushanova, Serb policemen went
into the house of Jakup Duraku. He was ill-treated and threatened with
liquidation. Fetah Osman Shala (1955) from Jeshkova was sent to 30 days
of pre-trial detention. He is accused for "hostile activity".
PODUJEVA: During the night and in early hours
of the morning, there was shooting in several parts of the town. Large
police and military reinforcements were brought. 10 jeeps full of policemen
were stationed in the village of Lupç i Poshtëm, 3 tanks and
7 APCs in "Tabet e Llapashticës", 4 tanks in Lluzhan and 4 tanks in
the Maloku quarter. Serbian police and military forces stationed in the
vicinity of the local mill in Lupç are ill-treating and looting
the passers-by. Many houses in the attacked villages were damaged due to
shelling, especially in the villages of Godishnjak and Sallabaja. The houses
of Faik, Mehmet, Nysret and Salih Uka, as well as Tefik and Faik Mulliqi
in Peran were damaged. Over 200 Albanian women, children and elderly took
shelter in the forest of Sallabaja. The OSCE KVM members have made efforts
to get to them and shelter them, but were prevented from Serb forces who
opened fire towards them.
PRISHTINA: At about 5.00 p.m., in downtown Prishtina,
unknown persons wounded Selman Konjusha (50) in front of the building he
lives in. At about midnight, unknown persons opened fire towards the "Megi
export-import" Private Enterprise, owned by Xhevat Gjushinca. There were
no casualties reported. Only windows were broken. At about 8.45 p.m., the
following were wounded due to an explosion in the "Galeria" cafe: Gordana
Miladinoviq, Milovan Vujosheviq, Milenko and Mirjana Stanojeviq and Miodrag
Markoviq, as well as Alma Behluli, a passer-by. Nikola Gavriloviq was injured.
All of them were taken to the Prishtina Hospital. Unknown persons threw
a bomb at the "Cima" Pool Club, owned by Rasim Thaçi and in the
"Te Namiku" shop, owned by Afrim Loxha. They opened fire in the "Guri"
pizza shop, owned by Basri Ademaj. Serb policemen opened fire towards some
Albanian houses in the Rexhaj quarter in Barileva.
OBILIQ: A Serb convoy headed towards the village
of Besi. Armed Serb civilians opened fire towards the Albanian houses in
Millosheva. Serb forces stationed at "Kërshat e Grabovcit" have surrounded
the inhabitants of the following villages: Graboc i Epërm, Graboc
i Poshtëm, Shipitulla, Sibovc and other villages of Artakoll.
MITROVICA: Fire shots were heard in the village
of Frashër i Vogël.
VUSHTRRI: At 9 a.m., Serb police forces surrounded
some quarters along the banks of the Sitnica river and raided some Albanian
houses.
KAÇANIK: Serb military forces were stationed
on the private properties of the inhabitants of Ivaja, on the meadows of
Shtraza, Jezera and Buzavik. Military patrols are preventing the population
from doing their field works.
JANUARY 30:
PODUJEVA: Military and police forces shelled the
villages of Lupç, Godishnjak and Sallabaja. At the cross-road in
Lluzhan, Serb policemen are stopping the buses and the other vehicles and
are ill-treating the passengers. Armoured police vehicles are parading
through the town.
MITROVICA: During the last 2 days, there was
shooting in the vicinity of the building where policemen live. 4-5 policemen
were stationed on all the cross-roads and the roads to and from Mitrovica.
They are stopping, checking and ill-treating the Albanian citizens.
JANUARY 31:
PODUJEVA: Early in the morning, police and military
forces started to shell and to machine gun the villages of Lupç,
Majac, Godishnjak, Sallabaja and Burica. The displaced people from Sallabaja
and Godishnjak were sheltered in the premises of the primary school in
Lupç i Epërm. Some of them went to Popova and Prishtina.
PRISHTINA: In the vicinity of the Printing House,
2 policemen severely ill-treated and injured Nazmi Xh. Lladrovci (1957)
from the village of Gllanasella near Gllogoc, who was on his way to work
at the Open Pit Mine in Bardh i Madh.
MALISHEVA: In the village of Xërxa near
Rahovec, Serb policemen stopped and severely ill-treated Muhamet H. Bytyçi
(65) from Shkoza and teachers Ragip Sopaj (45) from Jançisht and
Hasan Morina (40) from Astrazub.
FUSHË-KOSOVA: Between 1.30 and 2 a.m., unknown
persons demolished the following shops: "Ananas", owned by Bislim Gjakota,
"Labi Commerce", owned by Rexhep Nertica and "Banana", owned by Sadri Gjakolli.

MITROVICA: On January 15, 4 policemen arrested
Shaqir Halil Berisha (54), principal with the "Fazli Grajçevci"
Primary School in Shipol. He was handcuffed for a radiator and interrogated
for more than 2 hours. Between January 19-22, several houses were raided.
The following were arrested and detained for more than 7 hours: Azem, Rrahim,
Idriz, Hysen and Sheremet Selim Rrustemaj; Zymer and Lulzim Azem Rrustemaj;
Hysen Azem Ymeri and Bekim Hysen Ymeri; Hashim Tafil Hashimi (26), Tafil
Hashim Islami (61), Milaim Haki Beqiri and Brahim Vesel Osmani (30). The
latter was physically ill-treated. On January 22, Serb forces opened fire
towards Haki Sejdi Mehmeti (50) from the village of Lubavec near Skënderaj,
and Brahim Veli Osmanit (30). The two were arrested and physically ill-treated
under the pretext of collaborating with the KLA.
Between January 19-22, the houses of the following
were raided, looted and demolished: Ibrahim, Gani, Bajram, Mursel, Rexhep,
Enver, Avdyl, Avdullah, Abdurrahman, Ramadan, Zejnullah and Avdullah Miftari;

Serb policemen were stationed inside the house
of Qazim Osman Nimani (40), living in the "Bair" quarter. Policemen demolished
and looted all valuables.
PRIZREN: On January 17, in the village of Zym,
police arrested Fetah Osman Shala (1955) from Jeshkova. On January 22,
in the village of Shkoza near the border with Albania, 5 Serb soldiers
and a superior of theirs ill-treated Naser Garip Arifaj (28). Selajdin
Bajram Sinanaj (30) was arrested and his house was raided. Policemen raided
the house of Xhevat Destan Arifaj.
FERIZAJ: On January 18, Shyqeri Bajrami (1956)
from the village of Slivova, an activist of the Sub-CDHRF, was summoned
to the police station for informative talks. In the village of Koshare,
police demolished the building of the local primary school.
RAHOVEC: On January 19, on the road between Prishtina
and Lipjan, fiscal police inspectors looted goods estimated to DM 10.000
from Ramiz Raba from Rahovec.
GJAKOVA: On January 22, police forces were stationed
inside the house of Sadik Zenuni in the village of Shishman.
NOTICE: During the offensive of the Serbian police and military forces on the villages of Fushë-Kosova and Obiliq, the house of Shaip Toçani (1965) from the village of Bardhi i Madh was looted and burned to the ground.
