Welcome to the Homepage of the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights (IHF or also IHFHR). The IHF is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that seeks to promote compliance of the participating States with the human rights provisions of the Helsinki Final Act and its Follow-up Documents as well as their reference to international law.

Based in Vienna, the IHF represents 34 Helsinki Committees in Europe and North America. In addition to supporting and providing liaison among its member committees, the IHF gathers information and documents on the human rights situation in OSCE participating States.

The IHF has direct links with human rights activists in countries where no Helsinki committees exist. It criticizes human rights abuses regardless of the political system of the state in which these abuses occur.
